This pamphlet is a French translation of the English pamphlet 0365, “Low blood sugar insulin requiring diabetes". This pamphlet was prepared by the Diabetes Management Centre. Low blood sugar occurs when there is too much insulin and not enough sugar in the blood stream. The causes of low blood sugar, the symptoms, and the appropriate action to treat low blood sugar are listed. The best action to take if you should develop a low blood sugar while driving is given. Always be prepared to treat low blood sugar by carrying some form of sugar and wearing diabetes identification.
