Addiction Community-Based Services works with people who are having problems with reducing or stopping their use of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs, and/or gambling. The service is for people 19 years or older, and there is no cost. This pamphlet covers what to expect from your first appointment, what to expect from treatment, your circle of support, safety concerns, and contact information of locations within the Halifax area that provide support. If you have a mental health crisis, please call the Mental Health Mobile Crisis Team at 902-429-8167 or toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. If you need help immediately, call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department.
