This is a French translation of the English pamphlet 1866, “Sealants - Seal Out Tooth Decay”. A sealant is a clear or shaded plastic that a dentist, dental hygienist, or dental assistant puts on the chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars). This is where most decay happens. This pamphlet explains how sealants help, the best time to get them, how long they last, whether sealants are covered by MSI, an explanation of cavities, and contact information for the MSI Children's Oral Health Program.

Abstract

Abstract
This clinical guide, featuring a wealth of high-quality photographs, will help pediatric dentists, pediatric dentistry residents and general dental practitioners treating children, acquire a clear understanding of contemporary treatment protocols for primary and young permanent teeth while serving as a guide to integrate these procedures into their private or institutional practice. The background to the book is the emergence in recent years of important paradigm shifts in treatment concepts. It is now recognized that clinicians must distinguish between “caries management” and “carious lesion management” when treating children. Moreover, regenerative endodontic procedures have changed the way in which the immature permanent tooth is treated. The authors present the full range of current treatment techniques step-by-step, with all the necessary detailed photographic documentation and succinct supporting text. It will be an asset for dentists worldwide. .
Contents
1. Lesion Management: No Removal of Carious Tissue -- 2. Lesion Management: Selective Removal of Carious Tissue in Shallow, Moderately Deep and Deep Carious Lesions -- 3. Pulp Therapy in Primary Teeth -- 4. The Posterior Preformed Metal Crown (Stainless Steel Crown) -- 5. Aesthetic Full Coronal Coverage Restorations -- 6. Space Maintenance in the Primary Dentition: Custom Made and Prefabricated -- 7. Resin and Glass Ionomer Based Pit and Fissure Sealants -- 8. Strategies for Pulp Therapy in Immature Permanent Teeth.

Abstract
This book is a comprehensive guide to dentomaxillofacial imaging in paediatric dentistry and is an excellent resource for both general dental practitioners and paediatric dentists. Radiation protection, radiation doses and potential risks of ionising radiation are discussed, to provide dentists with appropriate information when they are asked about these important issues in their practice. Technical information about X-ray machines, ranging from the intraoral machine to the medical computed tomography machine, as well as the differences between digital image detectors, are explained to the extend a (paediatric) dentist should know. The latter is important to understand why certain exposure settings are used and what the advantages or disadvantages are of the machines and the image detectors. Non-ionising radiation techniques, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonography, are also explained, as well are their applications in the field of dentomaxillofacial radiology. Knowing which imaging technique will provide the best diagnostic images possible, is key to every clinical case a dentist is faced with. A wide range of clinical examples are displayed in this book, ranging from incidental findings to malignant pathology. All are illustrated with radiographic material and explained, in order to give the reader a good sense of what to look for when assessing radiographs in the dentomaxillofacial field.
Contents
Preamble -- 1. X-ray equipment in dental practice -- 2. Radiation protection in dentistry -- 3. Intraoral radiography in pediatric dental practice -- 4. Abstract
This book provides readers with a comprehensive evaluation of paediatric radiographs in preparation for the demanding Rapid Reporting component of the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) Part 2B examination, where the margin between pass and fail is very narrow. While other resources may include only a handful of paediatric images in a practice reporting packet, this book is dedicated solely to improving paediatric reporting skill and knowledge. It is designed to address an important deficiency identified in the FRCR Part 2B Examiners’ Report, in that “many candidates struggle with interpretation of paediatric imaging – even for common paediatric pathologies”. The ten practice tests presented, each with 30 images, will assist readers not only in passing the examination but also in the real world when they have to report paediatric radiographs independently. The range of cases covered, from neonate to adolescent, delivers a sound knowledge of both common paediatric fracture patterns and patterns which are subtler but require a definitive answer as to whether they are normal or abnormal. Guidance is also provided on how to describe each abnormality.

Abstract
This volume provides a comprehensive overview of critical care of the pediatric immunocompromised hematology-oncology patient. The text focuses on unique aspects of the pediatric immunocompromised patient that predisposes the child to significant illness, and presents critical care management strategies specific to the patient population. In addition to chapters on oncology, primary immune deficiency, immunocompromised hematology, and hematopoietic cell transplant patients, the book covers the changing landscape of ICU care, pharmacologic considerations, and psychological and social aspects of the critical care of hematology-oncology patients. Written by experts from a range of disciplines, Critical Care of the Pediatric Immunocompromised Hematology/Oncology Patient: An Evidence-Based Guide is a valuable resource for clinicians and practitioners who treat this patient population.
