Abstract
If you use home parenteral nutrition (HPN), it is very important to be prepared for an emergency (like a weather-related emergency or a natural disaster). It is important to plan before an emergency to make sure you will be able to keep doing your therapy without any interruptions. This pamphlet explains what an HPN emergency plan is, what emergency supplies you should have ready, HPN during a power outage, how to clean your hands with sanitizer, how to run your HPN when your pump battery has run out (the gravity method), and HPN during an evacuation. The pamphlet also includes a Health Emergency Card, where you can write down your medical information, emergency contacts, type of vascular access and location, and your HPN order. Keep a copy of your Emergency Health Card in your HPN emergency pack at all times. Space to write down your individual flow rates for pump tubing via gravity is also included.

Abstract
Pediatric Critical Care Study Guide; Text and Review is an invaluable resource for pediatric critical care medicine (PCCM) practitioners. Allowing for concise reading on specific topics this book acts as both text and study guide with the advanced physiology and pathophysiology required for the higher level PCCM practitioner. This Text and Review is physiologically based covering major pediatric critical care principles and specific disease entities commonly encountered by the PCCM practitioner. Pathophysiologic aspects unique to the pediatric patient are emphasized. The high number of illustrations and detailed coverage of each topic allow the reader to gain an insight into the normal physiology, abnormalities in the disease process, treatment strategies and case-orientated questions that will reinforce important ideas learned in the chapter.

This book is designed to impart essential information that enables doctors to safely evaluate and treat the most common emergencies in pediatric orthopedic surgery. Each emergency scenario includes the keys to patient evaluation, operative considerations, and expected complications. Filled with technical pearls and tips based on clinical experience in this area, the editors and contributors to Pediatric Orthopedic Surgical Emergencies have created a single source for treatments and best practices in this area. Topics covered run the gamut from trauma (including the mangled extremity and compartment syndrome) to individual body regions (the spine, the upper and lower extremities) to infections and other conditions. Pediatric Orthopedic Surgical Emergencies is a convenient illustrated text for any physician seeking guidance for challenging, but not uncommon, pediatric emergencies.

Abstract
This book comprehensively highlights modern emergency radiology diagnosis of the acute abdomen. In traumatic as well as non-traumatic emergencies, the clinical term "acute abdomen" refers to a variety of serious conditions in an often progressive clinical situation that call for an immediate diagnostic and therapeutic intervention. Today, thorough and rapid diagnostic radiological imaging is broadly available and the radiologist has gained a central role in patient handling in many emergency medicine departments. In addition to proficient radiological knowledge, communication and close co-operation among the various specialists involved are essential for successful patient management. Emergency radiologists must not only acquire a full understanding of the imaging modalities and technicalá requirements, but they should also have appropriate clinical knowledge of the various disorders in order to become valuable contributors to the therapy decision-making process. Emergency Radiology of the Abdomen provides a comprehensive review of the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical presentation of acute abdominal conditions, both after traumatic events and in the non-traumatic setting. It focuses on imaging features and high-end emergency radiology that are indispensable for a timely management approach. Numerous high-quality images, diagrams, and easy-to-read tables are provided.
Contents
Acute Abdomen: Clinical Context and Indications to Imaging -- Acute Abdomen: Rational use of US, MDCT and MRI -- Liver and Bile Ducts -- Gallbladder -- Spleen -- Pancreas -- Kidney, Ureter, Adrenal Gland -- Gastrointestinal Tract -- The Pelvis -- Vascular Emergencies of the Retroperitoneum -- MRI of the Acute Abdomen and Pelvis -- Imaging the Acute Abdomen in the Pediatric Population -- The Role of Interventional Radiology.
