Abstract
This book addresses knowledge gaps in RARP in 3 key sections: 1) Step-by-step approach including multiple technique options and innovations, 2) Patient selection, safety, outcomes, and 3) Preparing the patient for surgery. The order is more based upon knowledge priority rather than a chronologic sequence in which part 3 would go first. Part two allows more summary and commentary on evidence and part three allows some creative content that is otherwise hard to find in one place: medical evaluations, imaging, clinical trials, patient education, etc. This textbook emphasizes content for the advanced skills surgeon in that multiple techniques are presented as well as state of the art evidence. The learning curve is addressed and the authors clarify how this text is useful for learners. The caveat is that they should be careful in patient selection and stick with what their mentors are showing them. With experience, they can then branch out into the many techniques presented here. Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy: Beyond the Learning Curve will also have cross-over appeal for surgical assistants, physician assistants, nurses, and anyone else involved in the surgical care of prostate cancer.
Contents
Part I. Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy: Step by Step -- 1. Minimally Invasive Access to the Prostate: The Concept of Surgical Space Creation -- 2. Abstract
This text is intended as a practical guide for physicians and surgeons who treat diseases of the breast, both benign and malignant. Thus, general surgeons, internists, family practitioners, gynecologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists will find this book useful. The management of breast diseases requires a multidisciplinary approach, and this textbook therefore includes the views of a wide range of specialists from throughout the world. Today the treatment of breast diseases is largely predicated on the results of randomized prospective trials. The results of many clinical trials are discussed in detail, and readers will find this book to be a useful guide to the evidence-based treatment of breast diseases. The revised edition provides a comprehensive update of the previous version of the book. Specifically, it contains 2 new chapters: "Molecular Classification of Breast Cancer" and "Breast Cancer Molecular Testing for Prognosis and Prediction". In addition, since publication of the previous edition, the results of numerous adjuvant systemic therapy and neo-adjuvant systemic therapy trials have been published, and this edition provides a comprehensive overview of these trials and discusses how they have changed the management of breast cancer. Similarly, there have been, in the last few years, important new developments in the local therapy of breast cancer. This edition discusses these new developments and particularly recent developments and controversies concerning the management of the axilla in patients with primary breast cancer. New guidelines with respect to radiotherapy are also reviewed and discussed. Finally, all chapters in the book are thoroughly revised and updated to provide readers with current understanding of the biology and treatment of breast cancer.

Abstract
Covering the history of breast cancer, theory of radiofrequency ablation (RFA), resection of carcinoma, imaging before and after non-surgical ablation therapy and quality of life, this book focuses on extensive breast-conserving treatment for the preservation of a cosmetically acceptable breast. It investigates the feasibility of percutaneous, minimally invasive techniques to ablate breast tumors and several modalities such as cryosurgery, laser ablation, thermoablation and high-intensity focused ultrasound. Non-surgical Ablation Therapy for Early-stage Breast Cancer centers on RFA and provides insights into cryoablation and focused ultrasound surgery. RFA has been shown to be effective for treating tumors in many types of tissue, including liver, bone, brain, kidney, pancreas and prostate. As such this book is a valuable resource for breast and general surgeons, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists in all areas. The extensive discussions enable scholars to gain radiological expertise and a basic understanding of molecular biology, leading to better surgery without scalpels.

Abstract
This book deals with the essential factors in the personalization of treatment for primary breast cancer. These include host issues, lymph node surgery, radiation therapy, and preoperative systemic treatment requiring specialized knowledge, multidisciplinary care experience, techniques, and research. Locoregional treatment in conjunction with systemic treatments is another important factor, with options for local therapy significantly affected by genetic BRCA mutation. Axillary treatment issues have become top priorities in recent primary breast cancer care, and these are highlighted in the book's presentation of technological advances in lymph node mapping and diagnosis, axillary clearance in patients with nodal metastasis, and the role of axillary surgery. Attention is also given to locoregional treatment after preoperative systemic therapy. Because therapeutic impact differs depending upon biological characteristics such as tumor subtype, local therapy should be based both on tumor biology and on therapeutic response in parallel. Associated translational research and mathematical prediction tools such as nomograms also are introduced. This book provides the essence of primary breast cancer care, particularly its individualization with novel therapeutic concepts and strategies, and will greatly benefit physicians and clinical investigators in breast cancer institutions.
Contents

Abstract
This well-illustrated textbook is the first comprehensive and authoritative source of information on minimally invasive lateral access spine surgery. It covers all aspects of the subject, including patient selection, approach and monitoring techniques, soft tissue management, application in a variety of pathologies, technical nuances, and the prevention and management of complications. In addition, current controversies in the field are discussed and the biomechanics of lateral spinal reconstruction, the physiologic benefits, and cost implications are explained. Over the past decade, the emergence of minimally invasive lateral access spine surgery has created a revolution in spine treatment. This trend began with the introduction of extreme lateral interbody fusion, a totally new spinal procedure. In recent years, the conversion of more than 15% of lumbar spinal fusion procedures to a lateral approach has been due to the unique advantages of this approach over conventional anterior or posterior surgery. All major purveyors of spinal products and implants have entered this market enthusiastically, and all major spinal societies now conduct annual cadaveric and didactic courses to teach the technique. As use of the lateral approach in spinal surgery has become more popular, so its diversity and complexity have increased. Nevertheless, coverage in the literature is typically limited to single chapters, and the spinal surgeon seeking to achieve optimal results must rely on chance discussions with colleagues at meetings to learn the latest information. Lateral Access Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery is designed to fill this vacuum. Written by world experts on the topic, it will be an excellent resource for both beginning and experienced surgeons.

Abstract
This Atlas provides an easy-to-follow operational guide to laparoscopic techniques. It features a wealth of photos to illustrate esophageal carcinoma surgery. Through step-by-step anatomical photographs, it clearly depicts the Ivor-Lewis operative and Ivor-Lewis-Mckeown operative techniques. Using a consistent format, it addresses the clinical anatomy, pre-operative considerations, operative steps, post-operative care, and pearls and pitfalls to make it easy-to-read. The authors emphasize the similarities of the principles and steps between open and laparoscopic surgery, which significantly simplifies the transition from one practice to the other. This Atlas also includes a description of anesthesia techniques, a guide to the use of staplers in laparoscopic surgery, and a comparison of the energy sources available for laparoscopic surgery, while also outlining future developments, e.g. the increasing prevalence of robotic surgery for these procedures. The Atlas offers an essential guide for practitioners and trainees, laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgeons, and experienced esophageal surgeons who are preparing to change to minimal invasive techniques for the management of esophageal carcinoma. It will also benefit all surgeons who are seeking clear photos detailing how to perform these esophageal carcinoma operations.

Abstract
Minimally invasive techniques, designed to reduce morbidity and risk while simultaneously improving outcomes, are increasingly being used in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This book covers the most recent technological developments and the advanced techniques used when performing such minimally invasive surgery in patients with common and rare oral and maxillofacial pathologies. The relevant basic science is reviewed, but the principal focus is on the surgical techniques themselves. These are described step by step with the aid of numerous superb color illustrations that will help the clinician to gain a full understanding of the technology and the procedures. In addition, still emerging techniques of endoscopy, navigation, and minimally invasive surgery are well covered. This text will be a premier resource for physicians who diagnose and treat oral and maxillofacial pathologies and injuries.

Abstract
This book provides a unique and comprehensive overview of minimally invasive (MI) surgical options for the treatment of pancreatic diseases. The opening chapters present the state of the art of minimally invasive (MI) pancreatic resection according to the 2016 IHPBA Conference, offer information on the safe dissemination of MI pancreatic surgical techniques, and discuss preoperative evaluations protocols and surgical planning options. The book subsequently investigates the full range of currently available minimally invasive techniques, which includes: biliary and gastric bypass, ampullectomy, central and distal pancreatectomy, laparoscopic and robotic pancreatoduodenectomy, and robotic pancreas transplantation. Combining the acknowledged expertise of the Italian school in pancreatic surgery and the contributions of many leading international experts, the book offers a valuable guide for all surgeons who perform this complex surgery, as well as for residents and fellows-in-training.

Abstract
This book is devoted to all the aspects of pediatric minimally invasive surgery and is written under the patronage of the European Society of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery (ESPES) with the participation of leading international experts on Pediatric MIS. Comprising more than 50 chapters, the book begins with an introductory section describing the general and technical aspects of MIS approaches including laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, retroperitoneoscopy and robotic surgery. The main part of the book is divided into five subsections, each of which focuses on a specific system. thorax, abdomen, urology, gynecology and varia. For each subsection, the book examines several pathologies, accurately describing their clinical and diagnostic aspects and providing detailed information on the operative techniques, tips and tricks used in their treatment. Further, the book addresses potential complications in MIS and better ways to manage and prevent them. The volume will be of interest for pediatric surgeons, pediatric urologists or other professionals that need to access accurate descriptions of the MIS approaches adopted for the different surgical pathologies. At the same time, it addresses the needs of novices, including trainees, looking for general information on the management of the various diseases encountered in the pediatric population.
