Abstract
Adolescent Identity Treatment: An Integrative Approach for Personality Pathology is a groundbreaking title that provides general and specific clinical strategies to help adolescents who lack an integrated identity. The authors have developed a treatment based on the integration of object relations theory, family systems, attachment, developmental neurobiology and cognitive behavioral approaches that focuses on clearing blockages to normal identity development and adaptive functioning. While most adolescents build satisfying interpersonal relationships, are successful in school and work, and begin romantic relationships, there is a minority of adolescents who do not succeed in this and are at a high risk of developing problems in school, work, and relationships, problems with affect regulation as well as engaging in a wide range of self-destructive behaviors. In addition to a description of the disorder and assessment, this manual offers extensive clinical examples and concrete interventions, with phase-specific treatment components, including a clear treatment frame, psychoeducation, environmental interventions (with a "Home Plan" that addresses self-care behaviors, responsibilities and improved boundaries that fosters the development of better relationships between the adolescent and family), and parenting strategies, all in the service of creating a space for the individual work with the adolescent.

Abstract
Empirical research has clearly demonstrated that animal abuse in childhood is associated with family violence and violent behavior towards humans in general. Such abuse is accordingly of increasing interest within human services and the criminal justice system. This handbook will serve as an ideal resource for therapists in social work, psychology, psychiatry, and allied fields who work with children who have abused animals. It provides step-by-step guidance on how to assess, develop appropriate treatment plans for, and treat children who commit animal abuse, based on the AniCare model developed by the Animals and Society Institute. Exercises cover the identification and expression of feelings, the development of empathy, self-management skills, and working with parents. Careful consideration is also paid to the effects of witnessing animal abuse. The theoretical framework is eclectic, encompassing cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and attachment theories. A number of illustrative case studies are included, along with excerpts from treatment sessions.

Abstract
Use of psychotropic drugs has come to dominate clinical practice in psychiatry worldwide, perhaps owing largely to perceived simplicity, ease of use, and apparent efficiency, as well as apparent cost-effectiveness of such treatments. Nevertheless, medicinal treatments for patients with psychiatric disorders are but one component of comprehensive clinical care of complex human problems. Extensively updated since its second edition in 1985, Chemotherapy in Psychiatry, Third Edition, again addresses basic aspects of modern psychopharmacology and clinical applications of drugs used in the treatment of major psychiatric disorders, with major emphasis on psychotic, bipolar, and depressive disorders. The presentation covers descriptions of the main classes of psychotropic drugs, selected information concerning their known action mechanisms and metabolic disposition, and their clinical applications for acute illnesses and to prevent recurrences and long-term morbidity. Also covered are limitations and adverse effects of each type of agent, with emphasis on the fact that all psychotropic medicines have adverse effects that range from annoying to potentially lethal. Chemotherapy in Psychiatry, Third Edition, outlines the need to balance benefits and risks at the level of individual persons. Authoritative, and an important contribution to the literature, Chemotherapy in Psychiatry, Third Edition is an invaluable resource for physicians, scientists, trainees, and policymakers.

Abstract
The Common Sense Guide to Dementia for Clinicians and Caregivers provides an easy-to-read, practical, and thoughtful approach to dementia care. Written by two specialists who have cared for thousands of patients with dementia and their families, this ground-breaking title unifies the perspectives of neurology and psychiatry to meet a variety of caregiver needs. It spotlights many real-world concerns not typically covered in standard textbooks, while simultaneously presenting a more detailed medical perspective than typical caregiver manuals. This handy title offers expert guidance for the clinical management of dementia and compassionate support of patients and families. Designed to enhance the physician-caregiver interaction and liberally illustrated with case examples, The Common Sense Guide espouses general principles of dementia care that apply across the stages and spectrum of this illness, including non-Alzheimer's types of dementia, in addition to Alzheimer's disease. Clinicians, family members, and other caregivers will find this volume useful from the moment that symptoms of dementia emerge. The authors place an emphasis on caring for the caregiver as well as the patient. Essential topics include how to find the right clinician, make the most of a doctor's visit, and avert a crisis - or manage one that can't be avoided. Sometimes difficult considerations, such as driving, financial management, legal matters, long-term placement, and end-of-life care, are faced head-on. Tried, true, and time-saving tips are explained in terms of what works - and what doesn't - with regard to clinical evaluation, medications, behavioral measures, and alternate therapies. Medical, nursing, and allied health care professionals will undoubtedly turn to this unique overview as a vital resource and mainstay of clinical dementia care, as well as a valuable recommendation for family caregivers.

Abstract
Respect for persons, beneficence, and justice are the principles that collectively form the ethical basis of human research . These three principles find expression in Community-Based Participatory Research for Improved Mental Healthcare, or CBPR a systematic approach for engaging specially-defined groups of people in a process of inquiry and social change. In Community-Based Participatory Research, a panel of renowned authors provide a step-by-step approach for conducting CBPR, providing all the conceptual and methodological guidelines needed to implement this important and extremely fruitful research approach. As early career investigators use this mode of collaborative inquiry in the service of society, an exciting and entirely new capacity for ethically sound and more rigorous and consequential science can be built. An indispensable resource that will be of great interest to researchers from a wide array of disciplines, Community-Based Participatory Research for Improved Mental Healthcare is a major addition to the literature and certain to become the gold standard reference in the field.
