Abstract
This book describes adverse cutaneous drug reactions as among the most frequent events in patients receiving drug therapy. Cardiovascular drugs are an important group as there are a greater number of indications for the use of new drugs and their prescription continues to increase. The exact incidence of cutaneous side effects from cardiovascular drugs is difficult to estimate due to sporadic reporting. Moreover, a reliable connection between a certain drug and a certain type of reaction can only rarely be made, aside from the well-known angioedema/urticaria from angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, lichen planus/lichenoid reaction from beta adrenergic blockers, and photosensitivity from thiazid diuretics. These reactions can extend to rare but life-threatening conditions such as erythroderma, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis and drug hypersensitivity syndrome. Adverse Cutaneous Drug Reactions To Cardiovascular Drugs reviews the reported types of reactions to cardiovascular drugs. Each is discussed according to drug class and the type of dermatologic reaction with special emphasize on cross-reactions and the role of patch testing in diagnosis. A total of 116 images are included featuring clinical appearance of common adverse cutaneous drug reactions and diagnostic procedures such as patch and photopatch testing with the suspected drugs. Complementary tables may allow to scan the most common cutaneous reactions and the related cardiovascular drugs along with the possible cross reactions at first glance. It will thus be of considerable importance to all dermatologists and medical professionals who manage the skin, while being an important reference resource for cardiologists in terms of identifying potential adverse reactions to the drugs they prescribe..

Abstract
This book combines an exceptional wealth of precise, exquisite schematic drawings and high-quality images with clear explanatory text in order to provide readers with a crisp and clear understanding of all aspects of congenital heart disease, from diagnosis to treatment and from the fetus to the adult. In format the book appears similar to a large collection of case reports covering all types of congenital heart disease, including complex lesions such as single ventricle and atrial isomerism. For each lesion, the illustrations are placed before the text so that the reader can gain a quick and general overview before going into more detail. The contents are as practical and concise as possible. The intention is that, despite its size, the book will serve as a handy reference for cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, obstetricians specializing in fetal sonography, nurses, trainees, students, researchers, and even patients and their families. This is a “must-have” bedside reference in the cardiac ward, the ICU, and the fetal sonography room and will even be valuable in outpatient clinics.

Abstract
Aspirin has been in clinical use for over 100 years, making it one of the oldest commonly used drugs in medicine, and is now predominantly used as an antiplatelet agent. Major new antiplatelet drug classes have recently become available for the clinician that offer the promise of major improvements in the treatment and prevention of arterial thrombotic disease. In the field of anticoagulation, the vitamin K antagonists such as warfarin have not been available for as long as aspirin in the antiplatelet field, and have also had very little in the way of competition until recently; although a number of parenteral anticoagulants have been available, the vitamin K antagonists have been the only orally active anticoagulant drugs. The last few years have seen the arrival of new drug classes, the orally active direct thrombin inhibitors and factor Xa antagonists, which offer a number of advantages, but not without important drawbacks. In the face of these important advances in both antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy, clinicians often feel confused, even overwhelmed, as to what is now available and which drugs are useful (and indicated) in which circumstances. Antiplatelet and Anticoagulant Therapy is designed with such people in mind. It is written in an easy-to-follow format and with many illustrations to aid clarity and the assimilation of information. Each chapter is written by established authorities in their fields who are also experienced in explaining often complex concepts. The result is a unique book which is not only comprehensive but also clear and useful for the busy medical practitioner.

Abstract
This title is a comprehensive resource of aortic regurgitation suitable for both the novice and experienced practitioner. Detailed attention is given to the recently growing field of aortic valve-sparing surgery and aortic valve repair. Guidelines are also provided for general practitioners on how to treat patients after various aortic procedures. Also included are many operative photos, original medical illustrations and schematics. Aortic Regurgitation synthesizes current knowledge of aortic valve repair into an easy-to-follow, illustration-rich text. It is therefore an indispensable guide suitable for use by cardiologists and trainees in cardiology, cardiac surgeons, echocardiographers, general practitioners and radiologists. .

Abstract
This book focuses on how to induce clinical arrhythmias in the electrophysiology (EP) laboratory, a procedure that is indispensable for analyzing the underlying mechanisms, and identifying the most effective treatment of the arrhythmia. In the main part of the book, the authors share their own experiences with 13 different medications that can be injected or infused for arrhythmia induction – ranging from isoprenaline and atropine to ephedrine – all of which can be easily found in any cardiology department. Each chapter begins with a description of the drug’s chemical structure and mechanism of actions, then illustrates the infusion preparation, dosage and side effects and lastly analyzes its electrophysiological properties and highlights the most important clinical studies on it. For each drug the authors list–in dedicated tables–administration protocols from their own hospital. This book is of interest to postgraduate students, cardiology residents, cardiologists and pediatric cardiologists with special interest in arrhythmias, as well as to trainees, technicians and nurses involved in the EP lab.
