Patients with lower urinary tract symptoms may have one or more of several conditions which can cause these complaints, including: urinary tract infection, urethral syndrome, unstable bladder, or a loss of support at the bladder base with urinary incontinence (a condition we call "genuine stress incontinence"). Urodynamics testing is useful to assess patients before any surgery or other treatment is carried out.
