Abstract
ABC of Anxiety and Depression is a practical guide to the assessment, treatment and management of patients with anxiety and depression as they commonly present in primary care. It begins with an introduction to views on the understanding of anxiety and depression. The following chapters cover how anxiety and depression present in different patient groups such as children and young people, adults, older people and during antenatal/postnatal periods. It then addresses anxiety and depression as comorbidities with chronic illness, and within special populations and settings. The options for treatment and management of anxiety and depression are considered with guidance on when referral to secondary care may be appropriate and the current best practice in psychological therapies, drug treatment and social interventions. Cases are used to illustrate the complexities of managing patients with anxiety and depression.

Abstract
This book presents the concepts underlying the measurement of parasympathetic and sympathetic (P&S) activity in the autonomic nervous system and the application of these measurements in the development of therapeutic guidelines for treating dysfunctions in these processes. It provides an overview of the anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry of the autonomic nervous system; details general clinical applications of P&S monitoring that are independent of specialty or disease; presents the pathophysiology of P&S dysfunction in specific disorders, expected test results, therapeutic options, and expected outcomes; and includes case studies and longitudinal studies that demonstrate the major concepts for the common diseases for which P&S monitoring is recommended. Clinical Autonomic Dysfunction enables clinicians to improve patient outcomes by identifying and treating clinical problems related to autonomic nervous system disorders.

Abstract
Presenting recent advances in clinical diagnosis and treatment derived from an increased understanding of the biology of the hip, this unique text examines hip disease and pathophysiology through the lenses of kinematics, biomechanics, anatomy and metabolism. Opening chapters examine the impact of health care organization on hip care and prevalence and burden of osteoarthritis.Biomechanical considerations of the hip and gait pathomechanics in hip disease are then discussed, followed by chapters covering femoroacetabular impingement, possible links between OA and metabolic syndrome, osteonecrosis, osteoporosis and Paget's disease. Considerations of risk reduction surrounding hip arthroplasty conclude the text, including device and surgical options for THA, hip sepsis and prevention of perioperative infection, and management of venous thromboembolism. Taken together, this represents a new and important context for the discussions and management of hip disease for orthopedic surgeons and researchers alike.

Abstract
This unique book--the first of its kind exclusive on disorders of the scapula--is a concise but comprehensive summary of the evidence that will enable clinicians to understand the scapula from its functions to its dysfunctions and includes clinical guidelines and pearls to improve the clinician's competencies for the treatment of shoulder disorders. Organized logically, the book opens with a review of the baseline mechanics and pathomechanics of the scapula, proceeds to evaluation, then describes in detail the association of the scapula with specific shoulder problems, including rotator cuff disease, labral injuries, glenohumeral and multidirectional instability, clavicle fractures, acromioclavicular joint separation, and shoulder arthrosis. Subsequent chapters cover scapular muscle detachment, neurological injuries and winging, scapular fractures and snapping scapula, in addition to basic and complex rehabilitation strategies. Each chapter includes a summary section with clinical pearls. In the past, in-depth research and expertise regarding the scapula was minimal, but a widening interest has resulted in a volume of literature that makes it possible and imperative that it be collected in a single volume. Disorders of the Scapula and Their Role in Shoulder Injury will be an excellent resource for orthopedic and trauma surgeons, residents and fellows.
