Abstract
This book offers a clinical guide that brings together a broad range of brief interventions and their applications in treating psychosis. It describes two core approaches that can narrow the current, substantial gap between the need for psychotherapeutic interventions for all individuals suffering from psychosis, and the limited mental health resources available. The first approach involves utilizing the standard therapeutic modalities in the context of routine clinical interactions after adapting them into brief and effective formats. To that end, the book brings in experts on various psychotherapeutic modalities, who discuss how their particular modality could be adapted to more effectively fit into the existing system of care delivery. The second approach, addressed in detail, is to extend the availability of these brief interventions by utilizing the circle of providers as well as the social circle of the clients so that these interventions can be provided in a coordinated and complementary manner by psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, case managers, peer support specialists and other providers on the one hand, and by family members, friends, social and religious institutions on the other.
Contents
Brief Interventions for Psychosis: Overview and Future Directions -- Integrated Pathways of Care for Psychosis: An Overview -- Brief Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychosis -- AVATAR Therapy for Rrefractory Auditory Hallucinations -- Yoga and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Psychosis (Y- MBCTp): A Pilot Study on its Efficacy as Brief Therapy -- Brief Treatment of Psychosis from a Developmentally Informed Psychoanalytic Perspective -- Application of Motivational Interviewing in Working with Psychotic Disorders -- Brief Family nterventions in Psychosis: A Collaborative, Resource-Oriented Approach to Working with Families and Wider Support Networks -- Recovery Related Brief Interventions for Psychosis -- Employment support for people with psychosis -- Cultural Factors in the Treatment of Psychosis -- Brief Intervention Models in Psychosis for Developing Countries (Asia & Africa) -- Policy Implications in Psychosis.

Abstract
This book is an easy-to-use guide to short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for early career practitioners and students of mental health. Written by an expert psychiatric educator, this book is meticulously designed to emphasize clarity and succinctness to facilitate quality training and practice. Developed in a reader-friendly voice, the text begins by introducing the theoretical underpinnings of psychodynamic psychotherapy. Topics include the principles of attachment theory, the dual system theory of emotion processing, decision theory, choice point analysis and a critical review of the research literature. The book then shifts its focus to a description in a manualized format of the objectives and tasks of each phase of therapy within the framework of the engagement, emotion-processing and termination phases. The book concludes with a chapter on psychodynamically informed clinical practice for non-psychotherapists. Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is the ultimate tool for the education of students, residents, trainees, and fellows in psychiatry, psychology, counseling, social work, and all other clinical mental health professions.

Abstract
While there is a wealth of published information on addiction medicine, the psychological aspects of alcohol abuse, and behavioral medicine with regard to addiction, virtually none of the existing resources were written with the primary care provider in mind. Addressing Unhealthy Alcohol Use in Primary Care is a handy reference for primary care clinicians who are confronted by patients with these problems daily, and who wish to successfully address these issues in their practice. Focusing on the literature and science relevant to practicing providers, this book covers the range of interventions appropriate for this setting. Topics include assessment, brief counseling interventions, pharmacotherapy, referrals to both specialty care and Alcoholics Anonymous (and other self-help programs), psychiatric comorbidity and other drug use, and other information specific to the needs of the primary care clinician. The vast majority of people with health risks and consequences related to alcohol use receive little to no attention from healthcare, despite the fact that alcohol is a leading cause of early preventable death. This book is a guide to identifying and addressing unhealthy alcohol use in hopes of improving the lives of patients.
Contents
1. Unhealthy Alcohol Use: What is it? What Can and Should We be Doing About it in Primary Care Settings? -- 2. Screening for Unhealthy Alcohol Use -- 3. The book is devoted to the neurosurgical management of spasticity. Starting with a chapter on the anatomical and physiological foundations of spasticity and a short history of its neurosurgical treatment, it describes the neurosurgical methods currently available. As management differs between adults and children, the book is also structured accordingly, including evaluation, decision-making, Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy (ITB), botulinum toxin therapy and surgery. Beyond ITB, the neurosurgical options covered include procedures focusing on the peripheral nerves, dorsal roots, dorsal root entry.

Abstract
This Brief defines competitive intelligence (CI) as a tool for making investment decisions within the pharmaceutical industry. It provides an overview of processes that the regulatory affairs professional must take into account when evaluating data impacting product-based risk evaluations. These apply particularly to evaluations that focus on outputs such as regulatory approval, or the commercial impact of product labeling on the sales forecast over a limited timeframe. The Brief also provides an overview of intellectual property assessment that can impact a product's lifespan on the market due to patent protection itself (or loss of patent protection) or via regulatory exclusivity. Case examples are discussed to illustrate the importance of keeping up with the ever-changing regulations, and how to interpret them in the context of CI. In addition, there is a section on virtual data rooms (VDRs) which currently function as the cornerstone of due diligence investigations. While aimed primarily at regulatory affairs professionals in the United States, this publication provides a useful adjunct for other pharmaceutical executives, especially those new to product-based investments, and regulatory affairs professionals in other regions.
Contents
Introduction to Competitive Intelligence -- Overall Perspective of Due Diligence Investigations and Processes -- The Regulatory Functional Review: Primary Roles -- The On-Site Due Diligence/Data Room Meeting and Interactions with other Functional Area Experts -- Intellectual Property -- The Final Report -- Competitive Intelligence Summary.

Abstract
Since the last edition of this book, there have been a number of advances in the fields of glaucoma, corneal disease, medical retina and genetics. This new edition discusses these developments while also providing an introduction to the specialty of clinical ophthalmology for medical students, trainee ophthalmologists, optometrists, general practitioners, and anyone with a special interest in the subject. Each chapter contains a brief introduction and an outline of the anatomy of the eye and orbit, and utilises an "answering problems" format. Emphasis is placed on the efficacy of modern treatments in ophthalmology and brief historical information is provided where needed. Most chapters remain in the original format of keeping a dialogue to maintain interest rather than a purely didactic approach with bullet points. References are deliberately kept to a minimum and the chapters end with a concise summary to assist the reader with remembering the key points for each topic.
