Abstract
This book offers a clinical guide that brings together a broad range of brief interventions and their applications in treating psychosis. It describes two core approaches that can narrow the current, substantial gap between the need for psychotherapeutic interventions for all individuals suffering from psychosis, and the limited mental health resources available. The first approach involves utilizing the standard therapeutic modalities in the context of routine clinical interactions after adapting them into brief and effective formats. To that end, the book brings in experts on various psychotherapeutic modalities, who discuss how their particular modality could be adapted to more effectively fit into the existing system of care delivery. The second approach, addressed in detail, is to extend the availability of these brief interventions by utilizing the circle of providers as well as the social circle of the clients so that these interventions can be provided in a coordinated and complementary manner by psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, case managers, peer support specialists and other providers on the one hand, and by family members, friends, social and religious institutions on the other.

Abstract
This book is an easy-to-use guide to short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for early career practitioners and students of mental health. Written by an expert psychiatric educator, this book is meticulously designed to emphasize clarity and succinctness to facilitate quality training and practice. Developed in a reader-friendly voice, the text begins by introducing the theoretical underpinnings of psychodynamic psychotherapy. Topics include the principles of attachment theory, the dual system theory of emotion processing, decision theory, choice point analysis and a critical review of the research literature. The book then shifts its focus to a description in a manualized format of the objectives and tasks of each phase of therapy within the framework of the engagement, emotion-processing and termination phases. The book concludes with a chapter on psychodynamically informed clinical practice for non-psychotherapists. Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is the ultimate tool for the education of students, residents, trainees, and fellows in psychiatry, psychology, counseling, social work, and all other clinical mental health professions.

Abstract
While there is a wealth of published information on addiction medicine, the psychological aspects of alcohol abuse, and behavioral medicine with regard to addiction, virtually none of the existing resources were written with the primary care provider in mind. Addressing Unhealthy Alcohol Use in Primary Care is a handy reference for primary care clinicians who are confronted by patients with these problems daily, and who wish to successfully address these issues in their practice. Focusing on the literature and science relevant to practicing providers, this book covers the range of interventions appropriate for this setting. Topics include assessment, brief counseling interventions, pharmacotherapy, referrals to both specialty care and Alcoholics Anonymous (and other self-help programs), psychiatric comorbidity and other drug use, and other information specific to the needs of the primary care clinician. The vast majority of people with health risks and consequences related to alcohol use receive little to no attention from healthcare, despite the fact that alcohol is a leading cause of early preventable death. This book is a guide to identifying and addressing unhealthy alcohol use in hopes of improving the lives of patients.
Contents
1. Unhealthy Alcohol Use: What is it? What Can and Should We be Doing About it in Primary Care Settings? -- 2. Screening for Unhealthy Alcohol Use -- 3. Assessment of Unhealthy Alcohol Use in Primary Care -- 4. Brief Intervention for Unhealthy Alcohol Use -- 5. Alcohol Pharmacotherapies -- 6. Making Effective Referrals to Specialty Care -- 7. Abstract
This Brief defines competitive intelligence (CI) as a tool for making investment decisions within the pharmaceutical industry. It provides an overview of processes that the regulatory affairs professional must take into account when evaluating data impacting product-based risk evaluations. These apply particularly to evaluations that focus on outputs such as regulatory approval, or the commercial impact of product labeling on the sales forecast over a limited timeframe. The Brief also provides an overview of intellectual property assessment that can impact a product's lifespan on the market due to patent protection itself (or loss of patent protection) or via regulatory exclusivity. Case examples are discussed to illustrate the importance of keeping up with the ever-changing regulations, and how to interpret them in the context of CI. In addition, there is a section on virtual data rooms (VDRs) which currently function as the cornerstone of due diligence investigations. While aimed primarily at regulatory affairs professionals in the United States, this publication provides a useful adjunct for other pharmaceutical executives, especially those new to product-based investments, and regulatory affairs professionals in other regions.

This new edition discusses these developments while also providing an introduction to the specialty of clinical ophthalmology for medical students, trainee ophthalmologists, optometrists, general practitioners, and anyone with a special interest in the subject. Each chapter contains a brief introduction and an outline of the anatomy of the eye and orbit, and utilises an "answering problems" format. Emphasis is placed on the efficacy of modern treatments in ophthalmology and brief historical information is provided where needed. Most chapters remain in the original format of keeping a dialogue to maintain interest rather than a purely didactic approach with bullet points. References are deliberately kept to a minimum and the chapters end with a concise summary to assist the reader with remembering the key points for each topic.

Abstract
This open access book about the Zadeh Project demonstrates and explores a core question in clinical ethics: how can ethics consultants be accountable in the face of a robust plurality of ethical standpoints, especially those that underwrite practices and methods for doing ethics consultation as well as those viewpoints and values encountered in daily clinical ethics practice? Underscoring this question is the recognition that the field of clinical ethics consultation has arrived at a crucial point in its maturation. Many efforts are underway to more formally “professionalize” the field, with most aimed toward stabilizing a specific set of institutional considerations. Stretched between these institutional and practical initiatives resides a crucial set of of ethical considerations, chief among them the meaning and scope of responsibility for clinical ethics consultants. Developed around a long-form case scenario, the Zadeh Project provides a multi-layered series of “peer-reviews”: critique of the actions of the case scenario’s ethics consultant; reflection on clinical ethics method; examination of the many ways that commitments to method and practice can, and do, intersect, overlap, and alter one another. The design and format of this book thus models a key element for clinical ethics practice: the need and ability to provide careful and thoughtful explanation of core moral considerations that emerge among diverse standpoints. Specifically designed for those studying to become and those who are ethics consultants, this book, with its innovative and multi-layered approach, allows readers to share a peer-review-like experience that shows accountability to be what it is, an ethical, not merely procedural or administrative, undertaking.

Abstract
This updated and expanded Fourth Edition is an alphabetical listing of commonly presenting neurological signs designed to guide the physician toward the correct clinical diagnosis. The dictionary is focused, problem-based and concise. The structured entries in this practical, clinical resource provide summaries of a wide range of neurological signs. Each entry includes: a definition of the sign; a brief account of the clinical technique required to elicit the sign; a description of the other signs which may accompany the index sign; an explanation of pathophysiological and/or pharmacological background; differential diagnosis; brief treatment details; and where known, the neuroanatomical basis of the sign. A Dictionary of Neurological Signs, Fourth Edition, is an indispensable reference for all students, trainees, and clinicians who care for patients with neurological disorders, and could also be used in preparation for exams, since each entry is a snapshot of a specific disorder or disease.

Abstract
This book provides pathologists-in-training as well as experienced practitioners an easy-to-use practical diagnostic guide for lesions involving the lung and pleura. It also serves as a reliable resource for clinicians interested in the histopathologic features that define the entities that afflict their patients. This text covers a breadth of common problems likely to cross your microscope but without a level of detail likely to satisfy a desire for deep knowledge of their biology. The fourteen chapters begin with a brief overview of normal histology before moving on to incidental findings, followed by non-neoplastic and finally neoplastic diseases. Individual diseases include a brief introduction followed by gross photographs for selected entities and multiple photomicrographs at different magnifications with detailed legends describing the findings. The introductory narratives are intentionally concise, including only essential clinical and radiological information and key pathologic features. The emphasis in this book is on the histologic diagnosis of diseases using routinely stained slides as the foundation with a focus on high-quality hematoxylin-eosin stained sections. Gross illustrations are included for those entities in which gross examination may play an important role in diagnosis. Illustrations of immunohistochemical stains are limited to those that are diagnostically relevant and/or necessary for certain tumor categories. The Atlas of Lung Pathology provides a useful resource for pathologists and practitioners at every level of experience in evaluating lung and pleural diseases likely to be encountered in any busy pathology practice.
