Abstract
Cleft Lip and Palate: Diagnosis and Management is an unparalleled review of treatment concepts in all areas of cleft involvement presented by an international team of experienced clinicians. A unique feature of the book is that it largely consists of longitudinal facial and palatal growth studies of dental casts, photographs, panorexes, and cephalographs from birth to adolescence. Throughout the discussion of growth and treatment concepts, the importance of differential diagnosis in treatment planning is underscored. The underlying argument is that all of the treatment goals – good speech, facial aesthetics, dental occlusion, and psychological development – may be realized without the need to sacrifice one for another. In this third edition, further successful physiological treatment protocols are considered and the occurrence and prevention of relapses after some surgical treatments are discussed; again, all solutions are backed up by follow-up records. Additional topics not previously covered include strategies for coping with psychological effects on patients and intra-team conflict, the excellent clinical work being undertaken in Asia, and future multicenter palatal growth studies. It is the editor's hope that, by drawing on the wealth of experience contained in the book, clinicians will be better able to evaluate current treatment practices and concepts and to improve planning of their own treatment procedures.

Abstract
This book is intended as a reference that will provide the practitioner with a framework for establishing a diagnosis and developing a suitable treatment plan in patients presenting with a range of developmental defects of the teeth. The conditions covered include failure of tooth eruption, hypodontia, premature tooth exfoliation, defects of enamel development, and defects of dentin development, with full consideration of both syndromic and non-syndromic defects. In each case the phenotype and genotype are first described, followed by diagnostic information, including the availability of genetic testing, and treatment options. Summarizing tables are used to highlight the key diagnostic features, and helpful illustrated case presentations are included. Cleft palate is also addressed, with details on etiology, phenotypes, treatment timing and approaches, and dental management. The closing chapter provides stimulating reflections on potential future directions in the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders, encompassing changes in management related to environmental-genetic interactions, tissue engineering, and materials.

Abstract
Disorders of the Neonatal Airway serves as a comprehensive, multidisciplinary resource for all practitioners who care for neonates with airway disorders. With the evolution of advances in neonatology and neonatal airway care over the past three decades, the survival rate and life expectancy of premature newborns have dramatically increased to well over 50% in 24-25 week gestation infants. Unfortunately, survival with long-term intubation has brought a corresponding increase in acquired airway disorders needing collaborative high level neonatal and otolaryngological care. Additionally, with the advent of fetal therapy, congenital airway disorders now make up a substantial number of neonates with complex airway disorders. Because of this fact, there has been increased focus on the multidisciplinary evaluation and management of neonatal airway disorders. The book is organized into three sections: the first focuses on Malformations and Deformations, the second focuses on Assessment, Evaluation, and Treatment, and the third discusses Education, Simulation, and Quality. As one of the only comprehensive resources on the topic, Disorders of the Neonatal Airway focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to the neonatal airway. This unique approach makes this reference a must read for practitioners from many disciplines.

Abstract
This atlas offers a guide to studying the fetal face by means of ultrasound analysis. It describes key phases in cranial-facial development, allowing the reader to learn the related semiology from its most simple iteration to the most complex one. The overall examination of a newborn’s face offers a rich source of information and can guide the general examination. The same applies in the context of fetal ultrasound examination. The analytical study of the fetal face not only makes it possible to screen for anomalies related to the face itself, but also yields valuable insights into the brain, the limbs, and the heart. In addition, it allows ultra-sonographers to unravel the puzzle of fetal dimorphism.Written in a pedagogical style, the book guides walks the reader through the diagnostic reasoning process step by step. The authors are pioneers in this field and teach in various university and master’s degree ultrasound programs. Their aim is to share with readers their diagnostic approaches and their knowledge and passion for 2D and 3D ultrasound techniques. Each chapter includes algorithms, biometry curves, and simple guidelines that allow users to go “from sign to syndrome”. The first chapter, which focuses on innovative embryology adapted to the needs of ultra-sonographers, was written by Gérard Couly, a maxilla-facial surgeon and the founding father of the specialty.

Abstract
This text provides the reader with a comprehensive understanding of pediatric swallowing and presents a practical, evidence-based approach to the diagnosis and management of swallowing difficulties in children. It highlights particular clinical challenges and controversies in the management of pediatric dysphagia. Part one of the text begins with an overview of the anatomy and physiology of swallowing, with a focus on normal development as we currently understand it. It also discusses new information regarding reflexive interactions between the larynx and esophagus that potentially influence swallowing, and the advantages and limitations of currently available diagnostic modalities. It highlights current controversies regarding frame rate, radiation exposure, breastfeeding infants, and grading of studies, as well as current literature regarding medical and behavioral-based therapy options. Part two addresses specific diagnoses which can cause or be associated with dysphagia such as prematurity, velopharyngeal insufficiency, ankyloglossia, laryngeal clefts, laryngomalacia, vocal fold paralysis, and cricopharyngeal dysfunction; and explores the pathophysiology and treatment options for each. Anatomic, inflammatory, and neuromuscular esophageal causes of dysphagia are also evaluated as well as the impact of craniofacial anomalies, sialorrhea, and psychological factors on swallowing. As the most up-to-date text in this field, Pediatric Dysphagia: Challenges and Controversies will be a valuable reference guide for both learners and practitioners caring for these children. Comprehensive coverage addresses the full spectrum of dysphagia to strengthen the care provider's clinical evaluation and diagnostic decision-making skills. All chapters are written by experts in their fields and include the most up-to-date scientific and clinical information. It also incorporates the perspectives of multiple types of clinicians that care for these patients including otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and lactation consultants.

Abstract
This book describes how different diagnostic techniques may facilitate the prenatal identification of orofacial malformations. The role of standard two-dimensional ultrasound is documented and explained, but detailed attention is also paid to the use of three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound, including the novel 3D reslicing technique, and to the value of complementary magnetic resonance imaging. The malformations considered include cleft lip, cleft lip and palate, ocular malformations, abnormalities associated with fetal aneuploidy, and tumors. These conditions are depicted in numerous high-quality images accompanied by thorough and informative descriptions of imaging findings. The excellence of the illustrative material and the caliber of the authors, who are leading international experts in the field, ensure that Prenatal Diagnosis of Orofacial Malformations will be an invaluable tool for obstetricians and gynecologists.

Abstract
This book was conceived and written to provide a contemporary view of critical urban transport issues, policies, and initiatives in twelve countries with emerging economies, each at somewhat different stages of development. With dedicated chapters on Brazil, China, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, and Vietnam, the book contains detailed, comparable information about the current urban transport situation in the major cities in these countries. Written by specialists in the field, the book draws on a wide range of information sources to provide up-to-date accounts of each of these countries. By assembling this information in one volume, it provides a valuable source for academics as well as policy-makers with an interest in the current and emerging urban transport needs of a large portion of the world's population.
