This is an Arabic translation of the English pamphlet 0038. An ERCP is an examination of the common bile duct, gallbladder, and the duct of the pancreas. The doctor will do this test with an endoscope (a flexible tube with a light at the tip). We have described getting ready for the test, how it is done, care after the test, and possible complications. As you will be given sedation, you must not do certain activities for 24 hours after the test.

A bone scan measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are in an area of your bone. The scan may help your health care provider determine your future fracture risk and measure your response to treatment. It is important to be aware of specific conditions that may interfere with the scan (such as other tests you had done recently, whether you think you may be pregnant, etc.). This pamphlet outlines how the scan is done, how to get ready, and what to do during the test.

This is a French translation of the English pamphlet 0456, “Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)”. MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. An MRI machine uses a powerful magnet, radio waves, and a computer. It does not use radiation or X-rays. The MRI machine takes detailed images that show healthy and unhealthy tissues in your body. These images will help your doctor diagnose various conditions. An MRI is painless. This pamphlet explains how long an MRI takes, how to get ready, what to bring, and what will happen during and after the MRI. It gives special guidelines for children and pregnant patients. A list of special considerations to tell your technologist about (such as if you have a pacemaker or implanted difibrillator, aneurysm clips, etc.) is also provided.

This pamphlet is a French translation of the English pamphlet 1967, "Managing Low Back Pain". You are not alone. Back pain is very common and usually gets better over time without any prescription or diagnostic imaging (such as an X-ray, MRI, or CT scan). This guide includes some tips to help you manage your back pain at home. Exercises to do when you are having pain are listed (along with pictures to help guide you). Other general tips and treatment options are given. Symptoms are given for when to see your family health care provider versus when to go directly to the Emergency Department.
