Abstract
Properly run group visit programs offer patient-centered care that can improve access, quality, outcomes, productivity, revenues, and both patient and physician satisfaction. The ABCs of Group Visits is a concise implementation manual that guides readers through a 10-week pipeline to design and launch a successful customized group visit program in any practice, large or small. The group visit model is highly adaptable and has been used to great success for follow-up visits, physical examinations, new patient intakes, and chronic disease management (among other applications) and can offer hope to beleaguered primary and specialty care physicians, Medicare, and Medicaid. Ideal for physicians, healthcare administrators and executive leaders alike, The ABCs of Group Visits contains all the vital information to help solve many of the problems facing busy, backlogged physicians and bring joy back into the practice of medicine. "Group visits are just the type of 'win-win' innovation that healthcare needs today'improving outcomes, enhancing service, and at their best, reducing costs and burden on both clinicians and those they serve."á Don Berwick, MD, former President and CEO of IHI "Group visits offer an innovation to healthcare that can drive improvements to quality, outcomes, service, and productivity in all spheres in medicine'plus, as demonstrated in our substantial experience with them at Cleveland Clinic, yield high levels of patient and physician satisfaction in a wide variety of specialties." David L. Bronson, MD, FACP, President and CEO, Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals; Professor of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

In this book, leading international specialists in the field join forces to discuss topics, issues, and approaches that are of key importance in the optimal treatment of lumbar degenerative disk disease. The coverage is wide ranging, from current understanding of physiopathology and genetics and modern imaging techniques through to the diverse minimally invasive, non-fusion, and fusion surgical techniques. Detailed attention is drawn to the most important aspects to be considered when approaching the patient and making treatment decisions. The role of conservative management is appraised, and surgical techniques and their indications are carefully described. Emphasis is placed on the importance of sagittal balance for treatment success. Among the various other subjects covered are psychosocial issues, legal aspects, outcome evaluation, and the relative merits of evidence-based medicine and individual experience. In the concluding section, some of the top specialists from across the world reflect on the lessons that they have learned during lifetimes in spinal surgery. Abstract
This book provides the first comprehensive overview of a new scientific discipline termed Geroscience. Geroscience examines the molecular and cellular mechanisms that might explain why aging is the main risk factor for most chronic diseases affecting the elderly population. Over the past few decades, researchers have made impressive progress in understanding the genetics, biology and physiology of aging. This book presents vital research that can help readers to better understand how aging is a critical malleable risk factor in most chronic diseases, which, in turn, could lead to interventions that can help increase a healthy lifespan, or "healthspan". The book begins with an analysis of the Geroscience hypothesis, as well as the epidemiological underpinnings that define aging as a candidate main risk factor for most chronic diseases. Next, each chapter focuses on one particular disease, or group of diseases, with an emphasis on how basic molecular and cellular biology might explain why aging is a major risk factor for it. Coverage in the book includes: cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementias, stroke, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes asthma, emphysema, kidney disease, vision impairment, and AIDS/HIV. It finishes with a chapter on pain in the elderly and an overview of future steps needed to bring the newly acquired knowledge into the clinic and the public at large.

Abstract
This open access book gives an overview of the sessions, panel discussions, and outcomes of the Advancing the Science of Cancer in Latinos conference, held in February 2018 in San Antonio, Texas, USA, and hosted by the Mays Cancer Center and the Institute for Health Promotion Research at UT Health San Antonio. Latinos – the largest, youngest, and fastest-growing minority group in the United States – are expected to face a 142% rise in cancer cases in coming years. Although there has been substantial advancement in cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment over the past few decades, addressing Latino cancer health disparities has not nearly kept pace with progress. The diverse and dynamic group of speakers and panelists brought together at the Advancing the Science of Cancer in Latinos conference provided in-depth insights as well as progress and actionable goals for Latino-focused basic science research, clinical best practices, community interventions, and what can be done by way of prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer in Latinos. These insights have been translated into the chapters included in this compendium. The chapters summarize the presentations and include current knowledge in the specific topic areas, identified gaps, and top priority areas for future cancer research in Latinos. Advancing the Science of Cancer in Latinos proves to be an indispensable resource offering key insights into actionable targets for basic science research, suggestions for clinical best practices and community interventions, and novel strategies and advocacy opportunities to reduce health disparities in Latino communities. It will find an engaged audience among researchers, academics, physicians and other healthcare professionals, patient advocates, students, and others with an interest in the broad field of Latino cancer.

Abstract
This book presents, in a stepwise and interactive fashion, approximately 75 clinical-pathological entities that reflect the wide spectrum of pathology encountered in the sellar and parasellar region and have been gathered over a period of decades by the authors. Multiple examples of high-quality radiologic and histopathologic images depicting the differentiating features of the varying lesions are presented, and key operative and clinical management pearls are briefly reviewed in a concise, bullet point format. The interdisciplinary nature of this easy-to-use color atlas and textbook reflects the fact that the management of patients with sellar and parasellar lesions is itself often interdisciplinary, making this atlas a useful resource for any practitioner or trainee who cares for patients with pituitary disease and anterior skull base pathology. The format is unique in that no similar interdisciplinary book is dedicated specifically to the comprehensive catalogue of lesions in this intricate region of the brain and skull base. Abstract
Biomedical Informatics: Computer Applications in Health Care and Biomedicine meets the growing demand of practitioners, researchers, educators, and students for a comprehensive introduction to key topics in the field and the underlying scientific issues that sit at the intersection of biomedical science, patient care, public health, and information technology (IT). This 4th edition reflects the remarkable changes in both computing and health care that continue to occur and the exploding interest in the role that IT must play in care coordination and the melding of genomics with innovations in clinical practice and treatment. New chapters have been introduced on the health information infrastructure, consumer health informatics, telemedicine, translational bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, and health IT policy, while the others have all undergone extensive revisions, in many cases with new authors. The organization and philosophy are unchanged, focusing on the science of information and knowledge management and the role of computers and communications in modern biomedical research, health, and health care. Emphasizing the conceptual basis of the field rather than technical details, it provides an introduction and extensive bibliography so that readers can comprehend, assess, and utilize biomedical informatics and health IT. The volume focuses on easy-to-understand examples, a guide to additional literature, chapter summaries, and a comprehensive glossary with concise definitions of recurring terms for self-study or classroom use.

Abstract
In cardiovascular prevention, therehastraditionallybeena small number of cardiovascular risk factors to evaluate and manage, such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemiaand smoking. Recently, it has been recognized that new mechanical factors should be identified, andspecificallyinvolves pulsatile arterial hemodynamic parameters, such asarterial stiffness, pulse pressure and, to a lesser extent, augmentation index and pulse pressure amplification. Blood Pressure and Arterial Wall Mechanics in Cardiovascular Diseaseshas been written to facilitate understanding of these new concepts regarding bleed pressure and cardiac risk, and prepare the reader for the considerable evolution of the topic in the years to come. Much has been learned already regarding the management of these patients, and this book presents extensive data on the techniques needed to maximize their outcomes.

Abstract
Women in developing nations experience higher incidence rates and higher mortality rates of breast and gynecological cancers, creating a critical need for cancer control programs that can use available, often scant, resources to match the existing disease burden. This book promotes integrating screening and early detection of breast and gynecological cancers through cost effective modalities like single visit screening and diagnosis, well woman clinics, and mobile clinics. International experts in the field weigh in on tested and proven methods for screening, early diagnosis, and prevention of these cancers in both rural and urban settings with varying levels of funding. Case studies from Brazil, Peru, the Middle East and Africa are included to illustrate particular aspects of screening, treatment, and funding. Breast and Gynecological Cancers: An Integrated Approach for Screening and Early Diagnosis in Developing Countries is a crucial compendium of information for all those concerned with the wellness of women worldwide.
