Abstract
Obesity is a relatively new and controversial field of medicine. Some of the controversies surrounding obesity can be dismissed as myths, others reveal the lack of consensus and comprehensive knowledge which exist in obesity and its complex relationship with diabetes and other serious long-term conditions. Controversies in Obesity takes the unique approach of assessing the controversies surrounding obesity, thus seeking to debunk the myths and highlight and explore the genuine science, whilst demonstrating areas where there is healthy debate. This book will appeal to primary care physicians, trainees and specialist nurses involved in care of the obese patient, and would be of interest to anyone who wishes to gain a better understanding of the complex nature of obesity and its management.

Abstract
This book provides a broad overview of quality health care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It focuses on providing the reader a practical approach to dealing with the health and well-being of people with IDD in general terms as well as in dealing with specific conditions. In addition, it offers the reader a perspective from many different points of view in the health care delivery system as well as in different parts of the world. This is the 3rd, and much expanded edition, of a text that was first published by Rubin and Crocker in 1989 (Lea and Fibiger). The second edition was published by Rubin and Crocker in 2006 (Paul Brookes) and has been used as a formal required text in training programs for physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners as well as by administrators who are responsible for programs serving people with IDD. This book is considered the "Bible" in the field of health care for people with IDD since 1989 when the first edition came out.

Abstract
Written by experienced authors, this book offers expert personal views on what the current problems in pharmacovigilance are and how they should be solved. This book stems from thoughts and ideas discussed in a series of meetings of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP), where concerns were raised that the current pharmacovigilance system is not delivering optimally to improve therapeutics in clinical practice. Pharmacovigilance of the future must be an active and integral part of health care delivery, and focus more on science and practices that support health professionals and patients in day-to-day care situations. To achieve this, a dynamic and sustainable development of vigilance must take precedence over the current excessive preoccupations with data processing and regulations; all aspects of medicines use and their effects need to be considered; and all stakeholders must be involved and engaged in an open and constructive debate. The work is essential reading for anyone who has an interest in safer use of medicines. It is intended to be equally challenging and rewarding, and sets out to stimulate a continuous debate on how pharmacovigilance can better meet the needs of health professionals and patients to achieve the aim of wise therapeutic decision making.

Abstract
This book is intended as a comprehensive, practically oriented reference on pulmonary hypertension within the context of adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). After an introductory chapter on pathophysiology, the various types of pulmonary hypertension that may be encountered in ACHD are discussed, highlighting the specifics observed within different patient categories. The diagnostic approach is then addressed in detail, and the last section of the book is devoted to management options, from conservative approaches to interventional treatment and the concept of treat and repair. Management in specific patient subjects, such as pregnant women, Fontan patients, and Down syndrome patients with Eisenmenger syndrome, is fully discussed, and guidance is also provided on palliative care. Pulmonary arterial hypertension related to congenital heart disease (PAH-CHD), despite significant similarities in lung pathohysiology, differs significantly from other types of PAH in terms ofámechanism of onset, natural history and management. Mistakes and pitfalls in the management of patients with PAH-CHD are often related to a lack of knowledge or expertise in this condition. Pulmonary Hypertension in Adult Congenital Heart Disease will be a valuable resource and learning tool for all who care for patients with ACHD, both in tertiary practice and general cardiology.

Abstract
Hand Grasps and Manipulation Skills, Second Edition by Sandra J. Edwards, Donna B. Gallen, Jenna D. McCoy-Powlen, and Michelle A. Suarez, is full of concise and user-friendly text that is written to assist in understanding complex information. The photographs, illustrations and charts have been expanded in this Second Edition and present new content areas for students and clinicians to use in education and practice. Hand Grasps and Manipulation Skills, Second Edition is unique in that it is also the only text on the market that contains this comprehensive pictorial information about hands and their grasps. Additional unique features include rare information about in utero development of the hand, left handedness, scissor skill development, in hand manipulation skills, and extensive information regarding clinical application. Hand Grasps and Manipulation Skills, Second Edition is a text that can be used as a career long reference. It provides all the pertinent and comprehensive information for students to learn about the development of the hand in one place, and is expertly and thoroughly referenced with the latest research. Hand Grasps and Manipulation Skills: Clinical Perspective of Development and Function, Second Edition provides clear information on a very specific subject, which makes it the ideal reference for occupational therapy professors, students and clinicians; mechanical engineers, computer software instructors, and engineers working in robotics; medical students and orthopedic hand surgeons.

Abstract
This atlas depicts and describes catheter-based interventions across the entire pediatric age range, from fetal life through to early adulthood, with the aim of providing an illustrated step-by-step guide that will help the reader to master these techniques and apply them in everyday practice. Clear instruction is offered on a wide range of procedures, including vascular access, fetal interventions, valve dilatation, angioplasty, stent implantation, defect closure, defect creation, valve implantation, hybrid approaches, and miscellaneous other procedures. The atlas complements the previously published handbook, Cardiac Catheterization for Congenital Heart Disease, by presenting a wealth of photographs, images, and drawings selected or designed to facilitate the planning, performance, and evaluation of diagnostic and interventional procedures in the field of congenital heart disease. It will assist in the safe, efficient performance of these procedures, in decision making, andin the recognition and treatment of complications.

Abstract
This book provides comprehensive information on transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), which was introduced for the treatment of aortic valve disease less than two decades ago. It explains how TAVI has delivered satisfactory results even in high and intermediate risk patients and outlines how it continues to evolve, thus requiring awareness of state of the art approaches to indication, risk stratification, device choice, procedure, and follow-up. In addition, it reports on the complex and multidisciplinary approach needed to maximize the efficacy, safety, and appropriateness of TAVI, providing detailed clinical, interventional and surgical perspectives focusing on the development of this cardiovascular intervention. Starting with the history of TAVI, addressing the interventional anatomy of aortic valve disease, and reporting on the expert authors’ day-to-day experiences, this highly informative book offers an essential update for all cardiologists and surgeons interested in transcatheter aortic valve implantation, as well as any clinician, decision-maker and stakeholder involved in patient selection, procedural management, and follow-up.
