Abstract
This book provides practitioners with a single volume that reviews the clinical and pathologic features of rarely encountered cutaneous neoplasms. The text includes an in-depth discussion of the clinical findings, as well as the histologic and immunologic features of these diseases that are rarely encountered, reported, or recognized. Additional laboratory data used to make and support the diagnoses with some therapeutic and prognostic hints are discussed for each entity. The volume is organized into general categories correlating with the cell(s) of origin. An atlas of clinical manifestations is presented for each entity that will serve as a bedside clinical reference, followed by a series of photomicrographs depicting the histologic changes. In all cases, recent updates on molecular tools helpful in attaining the diagnosis are added to the sections on histology and immunohistochemistry. Rare Malignant Skin Tumors is a valuable bedside reference for the practicing dermatopathologist, general pathologist reviewing skin biopsies, general dermatologists, cutaneous oncologists and Mohs surgeons.

Abstract
Male genital disorders represent a common issue in medical practice, especially in the dermatological setting. Correct clinical evaluation of these disorders is essential when addressing the diagnosis, which in some cases may require histopathological confirmation. Depending on the disease, early diagnosis may be not only lifesaving, but also of fundamental importance to the planning of successful treatment. This atlas introduces the most common penile diseases, along with more rarely encountered ones. It provides invaluable guidance on clinical diagnosis by highlighting prominent clinical features and presenting particular videodermatoscopy findings when these are indicative of the diagnosis. In addition, for each condition the most appropriate treatment is proposed, taking into account recent therapeutic advances of proven benefit.

Interest in the use of stem cells in aesthetic procedures has been increasing rapidly, reflecting the widespread acknowledgment of the tremendous potential of stem cell fat transfer. This is, however, the first book to be devoted entirely to the subject. The book opens by reviewing the history of the development of pluripotent stem cells and the results of research into the biochemistry and physiology of stem cells. Adipose tissue anatomy and survival are discussed, and the wide range of aesthetic procedures involving stem cell fat transfer are then described in detail. These procedures relate to the face, breast, buttocks, legs, hands, penis, and Poland syndrome. In addition, potential risks and complications are identified.

Abstract
This book discusses the main approaches for mediastinal mass diagnosis and treatment, whose different aspects have been thoroughly treated by a multidisciplinary team of experts from different clinical fields. The complex anatomy of the mediastinum, as well as the different clinical, radiographic and prognostic features of mediastinal tumors suggests that specialists adopt more flexible and comprehensive practices, as highlighted in this text. The book includes a brief introductory section describing the anatomic sites of mediastinal masses and the epidemiological evidence for each different clinical-pathological entity. In particular, specific chapters are dedicated to thymic tumors, lymphomas, thyroid and parathyroid masses, and germ cell tumors of the anterior mediastinum. The Mediastinal Mass: A Multidisciplinary Approach provides a valuable resource for clinicians, surgeons, radiologists and pathologists dealing with the management and treatment of mediastinal masses through a multidisciplinary approach.

In this book, leading international specialists in the field join forces to discuss topics, issues, and approaches that are of key importance in the optimal treatment of lumbar degenerative disk disease. The coverage is wide ranging, from current understanding of physiopathology and genetics and modern imaging techniques through to the diverse minimally invasive, non-fusion, and fusion surgical techniques. Detailed attention is drawn to the most important aspects to be considered when approaching the patient and making treatment decisions. The role of conservative management is appraised, and surgical techniques and their indications are carefully described. Emphasis is placed on the importance of sagittal balance for treatment success. Among the various other subjects covered are psychosocial issues, legal aspects, outcome evaluation, and the relative merits of evidence-based medicine and individual experience. In the concluding section, some of the top specialists from across the world reflect on the lessons that they have learned during lifetimes in spinal surgery. Advanced Concepts in Lumbar Degenerative Disk Disease is intended as the definitive book on this important subject. It will be an instructive and fascinating source of information for all spine surgeons and other spine care providers.

Abstract
There are more than 63,000 new cases of uterine and endometrial cancer each year in the United States, up from approximately 41,000 when the first edition of Uterine Cancer was published in 2009. A book focusing on these cancers was timely, with emergent sophistication in diagnosis increasingly impacting clinical decision-making. However, five years later, the need for an updated book on this topic is even stronger as oncologists recognize opportunities to impact the outcome on women that are increasingly diagnosed with these malignancies. Uterine Cancer: Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment, Second Edition, part of the Current Clinical Oncology series, enhances the awareness on this somewhat neglected area of therapeutics, helping to integrate targeted therapies into the management of women with uterine cancer. Written by experts in the field in a highly practical and comprehensive manner, it is a must-have for all gynecological residents and fellows, as well as gynecological oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and family practice doctors who wish to provide their patients with the best possible care.

Abstract
This book presents, in condensed form, the clinical results achieved by means of various locoregional tumor therapies employed for different indications. In so doing, it will allow the reader to rapidly retrieve the information on indications and effectiveness that is required for optimal integration of these highly effective therapies into modern, complex treatment strategies. The renaissance in locoregional tumor therapies is an ongoing process. New chemotherapeutic schedules, especially for liver and lung tumors, have been developed during the past few years. Other targeted therapies, such as radioembolization, microwave ablation, and HIFU techniques, and new pharmaceuticals for intra-arterial therapy have been developed and implemented in clinical practice. Furthermore, the advantages of unlimited combination of starch microspheres with various antitumor agents, supported by effective ischemia, have been increasingly exploited. The second edition of this book reflects these advances and includes entirely new chapters on the role of intraperitoneal perfusion in treating peritoneal carcinomatosis and the use of limb perfusion. Locoregional Tumor Therapy will be invaluable for all practitioners who work with cancer patients.

Abstract
This book offers an overview of the latest advances in the epidemiological, pathophysiological, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of secondary hypertension, provided by a group of the most highly respected European experts in this field. It is common belief that secondary forms of hypertension are rare, although in 95% of patients the cause of high blood pressure is unknown – euphemistically referred to as “essential”. There is increasing evidence from epidemiological studies that the prevalence of secondary hypertension is much higher than previously thought, accounting for 20%-25% of all hypertensive patients. There are additional, very good reasons for identifying those patients with secondary hypertension: firstly, they are exposed to a greater risk of suffering major cardiovascular events than patients with essential hypertension who have the same blood pressure level, and for this reason require particular care. Secondly, these patients can be relieved of a lifetime of pharmacological therapy or, at least, have a chance to be treated with more specific and effective medications. A high degree of clinical skill is required to recognize the often vague and subtle symptoms and signs that characterize patients with secondary hypertension, and clinicians need to fully comprehend the mechanisms responsible for the development and maintenance of high blood pressure. Shedding new light on a complex area of cardiovascular medicine, the book enables readers to better treat affected patients.

Abstract
In 1947, Lerner and Watson showed that the cold-precipitable proteins in serum were gammaglobulins. These "cryoglobulins" were responsible for the corresponding clinical condition "cryoglobulinemia." Meltzer and Franklin, in 1966, provided an accurate description of the typical clinical symptoms associated with cryoglobulinemia. Subsequent progress in this field was rather slow until the end of the 1980s, when cryoglobulinemia was definitively shown to be an extrahepatic manifestation of hepatitis C virus infection. The book is unique in its detailed presentation and fundamental approach. Highly qualified authors have contributed critical articles reviewing significant developments in our understanding of and therapeutic approach to HCV infection and cryoglobulinemia. The text is accompanied by striking color images and illustrations and highly informative tables. This comprehensive review of a systemic disease with a complex etiology is a valuable source of up-to-date, expert information not only for basic scientists and specialists in several disciplines but also for general practitioners as well as graduate and post-graduate students in clinical and medical research.

Abstract
With the recent definition of the Th17 cell subset, a new paradigm in innate and adaptive immunity has been established. This book describes the function of the Th17 cell subset and its prevalent role in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The mechanism by which this T cell subset is generated and maintained shows specific differences between mice and man which are reviewed. One characteristic of Th17 cells is to secrete specific and unique cytokines such as IL-17A, IL-17F and IL-22; their functions are described in detail. These cytokines have acquired a prevalent role in many pathological conditions in animal models and in humans. Targeting these cytokines as well as the generation of Th17 cells may open new ways to treat many autoimmune diseases. The role of Th17 in infectious conditions is also addressed.
