Abstract
Diseases of the Liver in Children: Evaluation and Management provides a comprehensive, state-of-the art review of pediatric liver disease, with a practical approach useful for the primary care provider or general gastroenterologist. With an emphasis on tables and images, this book serves as a reference for understanding basic hepatic processes and the significance of laboratory findings. It also discusses the state of the art of diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the pediatric liver. The text captures the key elements of treatment and monitoring important for the primary care provider partnering in the care of these patients with pediatric hepatologists. The current state of transplantation and other surgical approaches are also discussed. The importance of aggressive bowel rehabilitation in the prevention of end-stage total parenteral nutrition-induced liver disease is also covered. Written by experts in their fields and including the most up to date clinical information, Diseases of the Liver in Children: Evaluation and Management serves as a very useful resource for physicians.

Abstract
This book offers an overview of the clinical applications of PET/MR imaging through a case-based format. Hybrid PET/MRI provides functional and anatomical information via one setting offering superior imaging quality with lower radiation dose being administered to the patient. The cases in this book focus on the use of this technique in the diagnosis of oncologic, neurologic, cardiovascular, infectious and inflammatory, and pediatric diseases. Each case is presented with the patient history, protocols, interpretation of findings, and pearls and pitfalls accompanied by high quality PET/MR images. The major strength of this book is the discussion of both MRI and PET findings pertinent to each particular case. It expands the discussion of oncologic applications of this modality through aávariety of cases that highlight staging, treatment response, and follow up. Illustrating a spectrum of PET/MRI clinical applications, PET/MR Imaging: A Case-Based Approach is a valuable resource for radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and residents.

Abstract
This book takes the major pathologies commonly studied in general surgery and presents them in a unique format based upon algorithms. The algorithms begin with the clinical presentation of the patient and work their way through the various diagnostic modalities available to the surgeon. This allows the physician to make a decision regarding treatment options based upon various patterns in the algorithms. This text serves as a very useful resource for surgeons as it allows complex clinical pathways to be conveniently organized in logical algorithms while providing a concise yet comprehensive manual to assist in clinical decision making. The algorithms were created by recognized experts in their field and include the most up-to-date clinical and evidence-based information. Clinical Algorithms in General Surgery: A Practical Guide provides a useful resource for surgeons in clinical practice, as well as surgical residents in training and those who are preparing for board examinations or recertification.

Abstract
This book is the first to provide balanced examination of both pediatric liver disease and liver transplantation – two topics that are inherently related, given that most chronic liver disorders eventually require organ replacement. The different forms of liver disease encountered in the pediatric age group are first discussed in a series of disease-specific chapters that have a reader-friendly, uniform structure covering pathophysiology, diagnostic and treatment algorithms, clinical cases, and transition to adult care. Key topics in the field of liver transplantation are then addressed. Examples include indications and contraindications, surgical techniques and complications, immunosuppression, in pediatric liver transplantation, acute and chronic rejection and allograft dysfunction, and CMV and EBV infection in transplant recipients, long-term graft injury and tolerance. A section on pediatric hepatology across the world includes chapters presenting the features and management of pediatric liver disease in South-America, Africa and Asia. A closing section considers what the future holds for pediatric liver disease and its management, including novel genetic testing, cell therapy and gene therapy. Pediatric Hepatology and Liver Transplantation will be of value for a range of practitioners, from residents making their first approach to pediatric liver disease through to specialists working in transplantation centers.

Abstract
Emergent general surgical diseases are the most frequent causes of in-hospital deaths and are the most costly diseases to treat. The purpose of this book is to provide clinicians with an understanding of their roles and that of other disciplines for the treatment of acute and emergent surgical diseases. It is also designed to give a clear pathway for using multiple disciplines to manage these diseases. The text details over 20 problems routinely seen in clinical practice and approaches the disease from the perspective of experts within the different specialties. It provides a comprehensive, evidenced-based overview and the most up-to-date technology available in clinical practice. An emphasis on new, less invasive techniques that may have a broader range of indications in the future is also included. Ultimately the reader will have a better understanding of these acute problems, the other specialties they work with, and when to integrate these other specialties when they encounter these urgent clinical scenarios.

Abstract
This guide provides the answers to patient questions that are frequently posed to practitioners who care for pregnant and non-pregnant women with GI and liver disorders. The first part of the text outlines gender-based differences in GI disorders, including GERD, liver disease, pancreatic disease, IBD, and IBS. The second part of the text reviews common GI and liver diseases that occur during pregnancy, while guiding clinicians through various diagnostic and therapeutic/management approaches. GI and liver diseases that are covered in this section include nausea and vomiting, viral hepatitis, and pregnancy-specific liver disorders such as preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and intrahepatic cholestasis. The text concludes with a chapter on the safety of GI procedures for the pregnant patient. Written by experts in the field, Gastrointestinal and Liver Disorders in Women’s Health: A Point of Care Clinical Guide is a valuable resource for the busy clinician who needs the best evidence-based answers to patient questions at their fingertips.
