- This volume describes the most relevant and cutting-edge technological news on the complex surgical procedure of acoustic neuroma. The clinical-radiological diagnosis and surgical indications are briefly presented and the surgical technique is illustrated step-by-step: video clips show the latest means of treating these patients. All these indications were prepared by highly experienced experts in the field, based on their personal experience. The new technologies discussed concern e.g. the intraoperative identification and position of the facial nerve, hearing preservation, techniques for dural closure, and the usefulness of laser and ultrasound aspirators. The book also discusses a number of ongoing projects, including those on: diluted papaverine for microvascular protection of cranial nerves, flexible endoscope for IAC control of tumor removal, fluid cement for bone closure, administering aspirin to control residual tumors larger than 7mm, and DTI for preoperative prediction of the position of the facial nerve. The diagnostic role of ERCP is already replaced by the noninvasive images such as abdominal sonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). This book will be contributed by the senior members of the Digestive Endoscopy Society of Taiwan (DEST) who are the leading ERCPists of the medical centers and teaching hospitals in Taiwan. There are 21 chapters, including the various techniques of therapeutic ERCP and EUS, how to approach the difficult cases and prevent complications. Recently, many new facilities and techniques develop to solve the difficult problems, but those new methods may have potential hazard to the patients, particularly in the inexperienced hands. We will share our clinical experience and comments on the recent literatures, to illustrate the standard operative procedures of biliopancreatic endoscopy, and focus on the patients' safety as well as efficacy. We hope this book will be helpful for the readers in clinical application and facilitate the junior doctors to choose the cost-effective and safe procedure to help their patients in the future.

- This updated manual is a practical and compact introductory text to CMR. It includes a didactic overview of the physics of magnetic resonance imaging, cross-referencing consistently to the clinical chapters and describing the relationship between an understanding of basic MRI physics and producing better images.
