Vous y trouverez de plus des informations sur les prothèses oculaires (œil artificiel) ainsi qu’une liste des symptômes nécessitant une consultation médicale immédiate.
This pamphlet is a French translation of "Eye Removal" pamphlet 0582. Your health care provider has talked with you about why your eye or the contents of your eye must be removed. This pamphlet will help you learn how to safely care for yourself after your procedure. The medical term for eye removal is enucleation. The medical term for removing the contents of the eye and leaving the outer coat (sclera) behind is evisceration. Both procedures mean permanent loss of the eye. This pamphlet explains what will happen before and after your surgery, including wearing a dressing, medication, care at home, and emotions you may have. Information about having a prosthesis (artificial eye) is given. A list of symptoms that require immediate medical attention is provided.

Abstract
Acute Care for Elders (ACE) is a model of care designed to improve functional outcomes and to improve the processes for the care of older patients. This model includes: an environment of care designed to promote improved function for older patients; an interdisciplinary team that works together to identify/address the vulnerabilities of the older patients; nursing care plans for prevention of disability; early planning to help prepare the patient to return home; and a review of medical care to prevent iatrogenic illness. Acute Care for Elders: A Model for Interdisciplinary Care is an essential new resource aimed at assisting providers in developing and sustaining an ACE program. The interdisciplinary approach provides an introduction to the key vulnerabilities of older adults and defines the lessons learned from the Acute Care for Elders model. Expertly written chapters describe critical aspects of ACE: the interdisciplinary approach and the focus on function. The fundamental principles of ACE described in this book will further assist hospital leaders to develop, implement, sustain and disseminate the Acute Care for Elders model of care.
Contents
An Introduction to the Acute Care for Elders -- The Team Approach to Interdisciplinary Care -- Patient and Hospital Factors that Lead to Adverse Outcomes in Hospitalized Elders -- An Overview of Hospital-Based Models of Care -- The Acute Care for Elders Unit -- How to Develop, Start and Sustain an Acute Care for Elders Unit -- How to Disseminate the ACE Model of Care Beyond One Unit -- How to Use the ACE Unit to Improve Hospital Safety and Quality for Older Patients: From ACE Units to Elder-Friendly Hospitals -- ACE Unit Business Model -- Models of Care to Transition from Hospital to Home -- What is the Role of Hospitalists in the Acute Care for Elders? -- How to Improve Care for Seniors in the Emergency Department -- How to Improve Care for Older Patients in the Intensive Care Unit -- The Future of Acute Care for Elders.

Abstract
Adolescent Identity Treatment: An Integrative Approach for Personality Pathology is a groundbreaking title that provides general and specific clinical strategies to help adolescents who lack an integrated identity. The authors have developed a treatment based on the integration of object relations theory, family systems, attachment, developmental neurobiology and cognitive behavioral approaches that focuses on clearing blockages to normal identity development and adaptive functioning. While most adolescents build satisfying interpersonal relationships, are successful in school and work, and begin romantic relationships, there is a minority of adolescents who do not succeed in this and are at a high risk of developing problems in school, work, and relationships, problems with affect regulation as well as engaging in a wide range of self-destructive behaviors. In addition to a description of the disorder and assessment, this manual offers extensive clinical examples and concrete interventions, with phase-specific treatment components, including a clear treatment frame, psychoeducation, environmental interventions (with a "Home Plan" that addresses self-care behaviors, responsibilities and improved boundaries that fosters the development of better relationships between the adolescent and family), and parenting strategies, all in the service of creating a space for the individual work with the adolescent.

Abstract
After introductory chapters devoted to the safe production and distribution of vaccines, the book addresses the question of adult vaccination in the framework of a life-course approach to vaccination. It presents the proceedings of multidisciplinary expert discussions with an excellent summary of the current state of knowledge on adult vaccination in various diseases, as well as an overview of the professionals involved and the obstacles to achieving greater vaccine uptake, and how these may be addressed. The book systematically discusses the major vaccine-preventable diseases, as well as regulatory issues in vaccine provision, and presents the results of an expert meeting designed to identify the obstacles to vaccination, and solutions for addressing these barriers. It goes on to extend the discussion beyond the traditional boundaries of human health to encompass the “one health” concept. The book is intended for all those with an interest in vaccination, including physicians (from a wide range of disciplines including geriatrics/gerontology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, internal medicine, and other non-organ specialties), other healthcare professionals, pharmacists, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory bodies (EMEA, national authorities), policymakers, the media and the general public.
Contents
Foreword. Adult vaccinations: essential but too often forgotten -- 1. Complexity of vaccine manufacture and supply -- 2. Administration of vaccines: current process, new technologies, adjuvants -- 3. How can the European Medicines Agency support an appropriate strategy of adult vaccination? -- 4. Public health impact of adult vaccine-preventable diseases on performance, disability, mortality and health care costs in Europe -- 5. Outcomes after HPV vaccination -- 6. Abstract
This unique resource offers an in-depth, comprehensive look at different types of mental health needs of transgender and gender diverse youth, how these intersect with gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, and provides practical information on how to ethically, responsibly, and sensitively care for these patients. Affirmative Mental Health Care for Transgender and Gender Diverse Youth: A Clinical Guide begins with three introductory chapters which contain practical information regarding assessment, psychological interventions, and the potential medical and surgical interventions that are indicated for youth with gender identity concerns. The remaining chapters are illustrated by multiple cases build around overarching chapter themes. Each case chapter opens with broad questions applicable to clinical practices, while the cases themselves focus on a particular co-occuring mental health condition. The case chapters are structured with intersectionality in mind, including elements of ethnic, racial, and cultural diversity, and the patients range over the full developmental spectrum, from pre-pubertal children to older adolescents. cases range in complexity as well, to provide readers with the tools they need to evaluate patients, and to assist in the decision of which presenting factors to prioritize in treatment at which time. Ending each chapter are clinical take-home messages, closing with additional practical knowledge that can be applied to other cases providers may see in their own practices. Written by expert clinicians in the field, Affirmative Mental Health Care for Transgender and Gender Diverse Youth: A Clinical Guide is an ideal resource not only for child and adolescent psychiatrists, but for clinicians across all mental health disciplines working with gender non-conforming youth, and who are interested in providing informed, affirmative, and intersectional care.
Contents
1. Affirming and Gender-Informed Assessment of Gender Diverse and/or Transgender Youth Across Development -- 2. Social Gender Transition and the Psychological Interventions -- 3. Transgender Adolescents and the Gender Affirming Interventions: Pubertal Suppression, Hormones, Surgery, and Other Pharmacological Interventions -- 4. Gender Dysphoria and Family Dynamics, and Culture: A Case Composite -- 5. The Gender Nonbinary Adolescent -- 6.
