Abstract
This book describes and reviews a multitude of different scenarios in coronary rotational atherectomy. This technique is an integral tool in the coronary interventionalist's armamentarium and is essential in complex coronary interventions. Its use has grown more widespread over the last few years with interventional cardiologists tackling previously "untreatable" coronary lesions. This has made it ever more important that interventionalists and all involved in the management of patients undergoing this procedure should be given practical information on best practice. Clinical Cases in Coronary Rotational Atherectomy contains over 25 clinical scenarios that reveal the wide extent of patient types, cardiovascular pathology and potential outcomes that the interventionist can experience with it. The book will therefore be of great value to interventional cardiologists, general cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, and all involved in the management of patients undergoing this procedure.

Abstract
This book serves as a reference manual for all cardiologists, particularly those in training, who face life-threatening complications of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on a day-to-day basis. From its initial conception, PCI has evolved to become a very complex procedure. Knowledge of what complications can occur during PCI and how to deal with them is vital for the practicing cardiologist, and can mean the difference between life and death. Drawing on the background and experience of an international team of cardiologists, Complications of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: The Survival Handbook is a valuable, practical, and readable resource for the interventional cardiologist. The principles and practices described within are relevant to all practitioners of interventional catheter procedures, including interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and cardiologists.

Abstract
This edited volume presents a detailed portrait of couples living with mixed HIV status, where one partner is HIV-positive and the other negative. Readers will come to understand the various and complex ways in which these mixed-status, or serodiscordant couples build a life together within the shadow of HIV-related stigma. Spanning the globe, coverage explores serodiscordance as a negotiated practice and process, inseparable from the social context in which it is situated. The book shows how couples draw on diverse and sometimes contradictory cultural discourses of medicine, romance, and "normality" to make sense of and manage their mixed HIV status and any perceived risks, not uncommonly in ways that depart from prevailing HIV prevention messages. Throughout, compelling personal stories accompany the empirical research, sharing the firsthand experiences of men and women in serodiscordant relationships. Bringing together research from diverse disciplines and geographical regions, this book contributes important insights for future HIV health promotion as well as offers new knowledge to scholarship on the cultural intersections of illness and intimacy. It will appeal to a broad audience working across the fields of HIV, health, gender, sexuality, development, and human rights.

Abstract
This book provides a broad overview of quality health care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It focuses on providing the reader a practical approach to dealing with the health and well-being of people with IDD in general terms as well as in dealing with specific conditions. In addition, it offers the reader a perspective from many different points of view in the health care delivery system as well as in different parts of the world. This is the 3rd, and much expanded edition, of a text that was first published by Rubin and Crocker in 1989 (Lea and Fibiger). The second edition was published by Rubin and Crocker in 2006 (Paul Brookes) and has been used as a formal required text in training programs for physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners as well as by administrators who are responsible for programs serving people with IDD. This book is considered the "Bible" in the field of health care for people with IDD since 1989 when the first edition came out.

Abstract
This book provides the most up-to-date coverage of the combined use of imaging modalities in order to acquire important functional and morphological information on cardiovascular disease and enhance disease detection. The recent developments in PET/MRI, cardiac CT, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT and their impact on clinical practice are explained, and special attention is also devoted to imaging parameters and protocols for use in practice and research. The utility of multimodality imaging techniques for diagnosis and evaluation is discussed in the context of various clinical scenarios, including ischemic cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, myocardial fibrosis, cardiac sarcoidosis, and atherosclerotic plaque disease. Written by renowned researchers and clinicians, the book is an ideal concise reference on today's most advanced imaging techniques. It will appeal to all clinicians, trainees, and technicians who are involved in the diagnosis and risk assessment of cardiovascular disease.

Abstract
This book describes various aspects of the basic physiological processes critical to tissue perfusion and cellular oxygenation, including the roles of the circulatory system, respiratory system, blood flow distribution and microcirculation. In the context of monitoring critically ill patients in the early hours of circulatory shock, it is essential to recognize changes in traditional parameters such as mean arterial pressure and cardiac output, and to assess the need for active intervention. However, even if global macrocirculatory variables are restored, abnormalities in tissue oxygenation may persist. Tissue hypoperfusion is connected to the development of organ failure and, if it goes unrecognized, may worsen the prognosis. As a result, there is a growing interest in methods for monitoring regional perfusion in peripheral tissues to predict or diagnose ongoing hypoperfusion. In this work, eminent experts from a range of disciplines convey a working knowledge of how regional monitoring in shock can complement the conventional global parameters of oxygen transport, and demonstrate that real-time bedside assessment of tissue oxygenation is readily achievable using noninvasive monitoring techniques. Accordingly, the book offers a valuable, easy-to-use guide for the entire ICU team and other clinicians.

Abstract
Percutaneous Collagen Induction with Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique widely used to treat numerous dermatologic conditions such as facial and body scars, melasma, wrinkles, skin laxity, stretch marks, alopecies, vitiligo and scleroderma. Microneedling can also be used to optimize transdermal drug delivery for many substances. This technique uses modern microneedling devices containing multiple fine needles, typically 0.5 to 2.5 mm in length, which are mounted on a barrel and rolled onto the skin to create numerous perforations into the stratum corneum and the papillary dermis. These micro-wounds initiate the release of growth factors, triggering collagen and elastin formation, which results in dermal remodeling and skin resurfacing. This book provides a step-by-step approach to microneedling, based on the authors’ more than ten years of experience with the technique, during which they have treated more than 3,000 patients in Brazil for numerous dermatologic conditions. Richly illustrated throughout, it includes over 400 illustrations.

Abstract
This book is a practical resource that will support the delivery of holistic mental health interventions in the primary and community care setting for older people. Primary care delivery is discussed in relation to both functional mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, and psychotic and personality disorders, and acquired organic mental disorders of old age, such as dementia, cognitive impairments, and delirium. Careful consideration is paid to the complex relationship between mental and somatic health problems, as well as the impacts of multimorbidity and polypharmacy. Further topics include, for example, epidemiology, wider determinants of health, different care models, history taking, neurocognitive and capacity assessment, and pharmacological, psychological, and physical interventions. The wider goals of the book are to support the development of community resilience and self-care in older people; to promote universal access and equity for older people in order to enable them to achieve or recover the highest attainable standard of health, regardless of age, gender, or social position; and to promote pathways to care for older people with mental health problems respecting their autonomy, independence, human rights, and the importance of the life-course approach. This book will be an invaluable resource for all professionals who work with older adults with mental health problems and those training in these fields including physicians, psychiatrists, family doctors, geriatricians, general practitioners, nurses, psychologists, neurologists, occupational therapists, social workers, support workers and community health and social care workers.

Abstract
This book discusses the hypothesis that the primate pulvinar contains an original scaffold which is derived from cytoarchitectural markers and specific protein distributions. Thereafter, along primate evolution, different selective pressures acted in order to shape and fine-tune the connectivity of the pulvinar with specific regions of the neocortex. This divergence created, among other things, the different sets of retinotopic map representations in the pulvinar nucleus depending on functional and behavioral requirements of each species. The pulvinar, the largest nucleus of the primate thalamus, has extensive and reciprocal connections with several areas of the neocortex. These input-output loops suggest that the pulvinar may regulate the flow of information within and between cortical areas in a highly dynamic fashion. Therefore, understanding the anatomical subdivisions within the pulvinar, and its connectivity with the cortex, is paramount to understanding pulvinar physiological function. However, there is a stark contrast regarding the way that the pulvinar is subdivided depending on the technique employed. Cytoarchitectural and immunohistochemical methods reveal a very similar pattern of pulvinar subdivision across Old- and New-World monkeys. On the other hand, electrophysiological and connectivity studies expose clear discrepancies in pulvinar organization across primate evolution.

Abstract
Focusing exclusively on reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) techniques and devices, this plentifully illustrated text covers all aspects of this important and innovative treatment for shoulder pain and dysfunction. The book begins with a history of RSA followed by a thorough overview of the basic science and biomechanics of the shoulder. Indications for and clinical applications of RSA in a number of surgical interventions are then described, including the revision of failed shoulder arthroplasty, setting in cases of glenoid and humeral bone loss and rotator cuff tears. A whole section is then dedicated to various commercial devices with descriptive expert analysis of the design and implementation of each. An examination of the current economic value of RSA, including cost effectiveness and expected cost outcomes, comprises the final section. Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty can therefore be read either from start to finish, allowing orthopedic surgeons to appreciate the various perspectives offered, or by selecting specific topics of interest much like a "how-to manual" of either a particular device design or the treatment of a specific pathology.
