Abstract
This excellently illustrated book adopts an evidence-based approach to evaluate the efficacy of different techniques for the imaging and treatment of patellofemoral pain, instability, and arthritis. The aim is to equip practitioners with an informative guide that will help them to manage disorders of the patellofemoral joint by casting light on the many issues on which a consensus has been lacking. The opening chapters supply essential background information and explain the role of various imaging modalities, including radiography, CT, MRI, and bone scan. The various conservative and surgical treatment approaches for each of the three presentations – pain, instability, and arthritis – are then described and assessed in depth, with precise guidance on indications and technique. Postoperative management and options in the event of failed surgery are also evaluated. Throughout, careful attention is paid to the literature in an attempt to establish the level of evidence for each imaging and treatment method. The new edition has been thoroughly updated, with inclusion of additional chapters, in order to present the latest knowledge on biomechanics, diagnosis, surgical techniques, and rehabilitation.

Abstract
This heavily revised second edition provides a practical guide to the treatment of a range of common knee pathologies, using tried and tested solutions from the Lyon School of Knee Surgery. Extensively revised chapters focus on equipping the reader with a solid foundation in the areas of sports, degenerative and patellofemoral surgery. New chapters cover robotic arthroplasty and strategies in total knee arthroplasty, along with a collection of more unusual cases, enabling the reader to develop their confidence in dealing with a range of clinical scenarios. Surgery of the Knee systematically reviews a range of knee surgery indications and techniques. It represents a timely and valuable resource for both trainee orthopaedic specialists, and practising surgeons who seek to develop a deeper understanding of how to approach treating their patients.

Abstract
This book discusses globalization and its impact on human health. The population of the world grew from 1 billion in 1800 to 7 billion in 2012, and over the past 50 years the mean temperature has risen faster than ever before. Both factors continue to rise, as well as health inequalities. Our environment is changing rapidly, with tremendous consequences for our health. These changes produce complex and constantly varying interactions between the biosphere, economy, climate and human health, forcing us to approach future global health trends from a new perspective. Preventive actions to improve health, especially in low-income countries, are essential if our future is going to be a sustainable one. After a period of undeniable improvement in the health of the world's population, this improvement is likely to slow down and we will experience--at least locally--crises of the same magnitude as have been observed in financial markets since 2009. There is instability in health systems, which will worsen if preventive and buffering mechanisms do not take on a central role. We cannot exclude the possibility that the allied forces of poverty, social inequalities, climate change, industrial food and lack of governance will lead to a deterioration in the health of large sectors of the population. In low-income countries, while many of the traditional causes of death (infectious diseases) are still highly prevalent, other threats typical of affluent societies (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases) are increasing. Africa is not only affected by malaria, TB and HIV, but also by skyrocketing rates of cancer. The book argues that the current situation requires effective and coordinated multinational interventions guided by the principle of health as a common good. An entirely competition-driven economy cannot--by its very nature--address global challenges that require full international cooperation. A communal global leadership is called for. Paolo Vineis is Chair of Environmental Epidemiology at Imperial College. His current research activities focus on examining biomarkers of disease risk as well as studying the effects of climate change on non-communicable diseases. "From morality to molecules, environment to equity, climate change to cancer, and politics to pathology, this is a wonderful tour of global health: consistently presented in a clear, readable format. Really, an important contribution." Professor Sir Michael Marmot Director, Institute of Health Equity University College London Author of "The Health Gap". "This book is a salutary and soundly argued reminder that the "common good" is not simply what remains after individuals and groups have appropriated the majority of societal resources: it is in fact the foundation on which any society rests and without which it collapses." Rodolfo Saracci Senior Visiting Scientist International Agency for Research on Cancer, Lyon, France.

Abstract
This comprehensive volume provides the current state of the art use of corticosteroids in the pediatric age group. The book consists of 14 chapters written by leading authors from around the world. The first chapters deal with historical notes, general concepts on treatment with corticosteroids with regard to indications and side effects, and the basic pharmacologic properties of these compounds. The rest of the book is devoted to the specific use of corticosteroids in the different pediatric subspecialties. Despite advances with newer effective immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroids still remain the mainstay of therapy for many disorders. Rolando Cimaz is Head of the Pediatric Rheumatology Unit at Meyer Children's Hopital in Florence, Italy, and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florence, Italy. He graduated from Milan University in Italy in 1987, is a specialist in Pediatrics (1991) and in Rheumatology (2003), and did his Fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology in Dallas, Texas, USA, in 1993-1994. He was Maitre de Conférences des Universités at Université Claude Bernard-Lyon in Lyon, France from 2005 to 2007. His main interest is pediatric rheumatology, and he has special expertise and scientific interest in osteoporosis, antiphospholipid antibodies, Kawasaki disease, synovial T cells, and neonatal lupus. Currently he is involved in many research projects, nationally and internationally. He has been on the Council of the Pediatric Rheumatology European Society from 1999 to 2005 (treasurer), and from 2014-present (Research Chair). He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the Italian Society of Pediatrics, and the French Society of Pediatric Inflammatory Diseases. He is co-author of more than 230 peer-reviewed articles on PubMed, as well as more than 20 book chapters, all in the field of pediatric rheumatology. He is, or has been, on the Editorial board of several international journals (Pediatric Rheumatology Online Journal, Lupus, Arthritis and Rheumatism) and co-edited the book "Systemic Autoimmune Diseases in Pediatrics.".

Abstract
WHO Classification of Tumours of Female Reproductive Organs is the sixth volume in the 4th Edition of the WHO series on histological and genetic typing of human tumours. This authoritative, concise reference book provides an international standard for oncologists and pathologists and will serve as an indispensable guide for use in the design of studies monitoring response to therapy and clinical outcome. Diagnostic criteria, pathological features, and associated genetic alterations are described in a strictly disease-oriented manner. Sections on all recognized neoplasms and their variants include new ICD-O codes, epidemiology, clinical features, macroscopy, pathology, genetics, and prognosis and predictive factors. The book, prepared by 91 authors from 19 countries, contains more than 400 colour images and tables, and more than 2100 references.
