This pamphlet is a French translation of "Talking to Children About Death and Grief: Information for Parents and Caregivers" pamphlet 2024. This pamphlet outlines how to help your child cope with dying, death, and grief. It explains how children may react when someone is very ill, planning appropriately for family visits at the hospital or hospice, the importance of making time to talk to your child, guidance on whether children should be present at death, and guidance on telling a child that someone has died. Other topics include: getting ready for rituals and funerals, the importance of children needing to talk about grief openly, keeping reminders of your loved one, how their reactions may differ from those of an adult, and asking for extra support when your child gets anxious. Tips for developmental stages (e.g., children aged 3 to 5, aged 6 to 8, and aged 9 to 12) are given and a list of online resources are provided.

This is a French translation of the English pamphlet 1998, “Making the Most of Your Remaining Vision”. Losing your sight can be upsetting. You may feel scared, sad, or frustrated – this is normal. This pamphlet gives information and advice from health care professionals on adjusting to vision loss. Topics include types of vision loss, tips for getting used to vision loss (like staying safe at home, and using supportive and adaptable technology), and how vision loss affects your loved ones. Examples of computer software, apps, and things you can use at home are provided. Information on CNIB support programs and a list of resources is included.

This pamphlet is a French translation of the English pamphlet 1942, "Advance Care Planning: Making Your Personal and Medical Wishes Known". Advance care planning, or personal care planning, is the process of reflecting on what is important to you, to help you plan for your future medical and personal care. This pamphlet gives information about advance care planning, personal directives (PDs), delegates, what will happen if you do not have a PD, where to keep your completed PD and who should have a copy of it, when you should update your PD, and some treatments you should consider when making a PD. Information about Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) is included. A list of resources, as well as information and tools available to help you, are provided. A blank Nova Scotia Health Authority Personal Directive form is included.
