Abstract
This book discusses the impact on women of the diagnosis and treatment of early breast cancer. Readers will learn about the risks of breast cancer recurrence and interventions to reduce these, such as endocrine therapy and bisphosphonate therapy, as well as the role of lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise. The long-term effects of treatment on fertility, the heart and other systems are discussed, as well the psychological burden for women who are increasingly likely to be cured from their cancer. Each chapter provides background and a practical guide in the management of women after the initial phase of diagnosis and treatment. Authored by a multidisciplinary team this book provides all the relevant expertise as well as different perspectives, providing a holistic picture of early breast cancer consequences. From oncologists to general practitioners as well as specialist nurses, gynaecologists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals involved in the long-term care of women with breast cancer, this book provides a timely and indispensable guide to practitioners caring for early breast cancer survivors.

Abstract
Hepatitis C Virus and Liver Transplantation is designed to provide a comprehensive and state-of-the-art overview of the major issues specific to the field of liver transplantation and hepatitis C virus infection. The sections of the book have been structured to review the overall scope of issues of recurrent hepatitis C in different complex settings, including retransplantation, HIV-coinfected patients or in the setting of suboptimal graft donors. This book provides up-to-date information on the application of new therapies to the field of liver transplantation. It provides the most recent data on their efficacy, the management of side effects, as well as the potential interactions and specific problems associated with their use in the transplant setting. Finally, an appraisal of the risks and benefits of using organs from anti-HCV positive donors is presented. This book provides concise and actual materials for several important topics that are simply not adequately covered by current available literature. Hepatitis C Virus and Liver Transplantation will provide a unique and valuable resource in the field of liver transplantation and will be of great value to Hepatologists, Transplant and Abdominal Surgeons, Oncologists, as well as Fellows and Residents training in these fields.
Contents
1. Treatment of Hepatitis C Before Liver Transplantation -- 2. Donor-Recipient Matching in HCV-Infected Patients -- 3. Natural History of Recurrent Hepatitis C: Impact of Immunosuppression -- 4. Treatment of Hepatitis C After Liver Transplantation -- 5. Hepatitis C and Liver Transplantation in the HIV Co-Infected Patients -- 6. Abstract
Significant advances have been achieved in musculoskeletal injection procedures during the past two decades, supported by the rapid development of imaging technology and the resulting clear presentation of three-dimensional anatomy. However, these procedures require additional training and expertise not always provided in residency training programs. This comprehensive book covers diagnostic and therapeutic intra- and extra-articular injection procedures for all joints and musculoskeletal regions. Each procedure is explained step by step, with discussion of indications, anatomy, pre- and postprocedural medications, needles, radiological equipment (conventional X-ray, US, and, when appropriate, CT, PET-CT, and MRI), patient positioning, technique, and aftercare. Potential difficulties are identified and helpful tips and tricks, provided. The lucid text is supported by informative drawings, model photographs, and radiological images. This book will assist beginners in starting to carry out injections by providing clear, precise procedural instructions and guidance on equipment and medications. It is hoped that while using the book, the reader will gain confidence by feeling that the authors are standing alongside, ready to answer any question that may arise.
Contents
General introduction on imaging guided interventions -- Shoulder procedures: intra-articular -- Shoulder procedures: extra-articular -- Elbow procedures: intra-articular -- Elbow procedures: extra-articular -- Wrist and hand procedures: intra-articular -- Wrist and hand procedures: extra-articular -- Knee procedures: intra-articular -- Knee procedures: extra-articular-- Intra-articular ankle procedures -- Ankle and foot extra-articular procedures -- Sacroiliac joint -- Bone biopsy -- Image-guided soft tissue biopsy -- Spine -- Symphysis pubis intra-articular procedures.

Abstract
This book provides a concise, state-of-the art review of the surgical treatment of metabolic syndrome and diabetes mellitus. The volume reviews what current practices in surgery and metabolic syndrome and diabetes including the biohormonal effects of the different surgeries. Isolating the effects of the different procedures is critical to the decision tree for type of procedure selected for an individual patient. Specifically for diabetes, this textbook will provide a guide for practitioners to a tailored approach to the treatment. Areas of ongoing research that highlight the minimally invasive approach as well as incorporating what we know of the biochemical results of surgery are presented. Results of established weight loss procedures and ongoing trials are juxtaposed against some of the more novel techniques to ascertain a best practice. Metabolic Syndrome and Diabetes serves as a very useful resource for physicians and researchers dealing with, and interested in, this rising epidemic of metabolic syndrome and diabetes. It provides a concise yet comprehensive summary of the current status of the field that will help guide patient management and stimulate investigative efforts.

Abstract
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are clonal stem cell diseases that, under the World Health Organization classification, are subcategorized into eight clinicopathologic entities. The current book focuses on three of these categories: polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis. A number of important questions regarding the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of these diseases have arisen following the discovery of the JAK2 V617F mutation in the majority of patients with bcr/abl-negative MPNs. This book comprises evidence-based reviews and expert consensus results. It offers comprehensive coverage of relevant laboratory and clinical advances and places great emphasis on the practical issues that challenge physicians in their daily practice. The main topics considered thus include contemporary diagnostic approaches, the value and limitations of mutation screening for diagnostic and prognostic purposes, risk stratification in terms of both survival and other disease complications such as leukemic transformation and thrombosis, and modern therapeutic strategies, including conventional drugs, allogeneic stem cell transplantation, and experimental drugs still under study. The reader will find Critical Concepts and Management Recommendations in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms to be an invaluable and up-to-date source of information from leading authorities in the field.

Abstract
In recent years the relevance of non-invasive bioimaging techniques in the field of melanoma screening has steadily increased. In the new era of "clinicoimaging" diagnosis, reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) will have a major impact on the diagnosis and management of neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases. This book focuses on the use and significance of in vivo RCM for non-invasive high-resolution imaging of the skin. All of the chapters in this hands-on guide are generously illustrated with numerous confocal images and structured in a reader-friendly way. The contents include: a detailed information on the most relevant and up-to-date aspects of RCM, schematic drawings summarizing and explaining the most important RCM criteria, and a chapter specifically devoted to bridging the gap between dermoscopy, RCM, and histopathology. At the end of each chapter, core messages recapitulate the most pertinent aspects. Reflectance Confocal Microscopy for Skin Diseases will be a valuable resource for all physicians involved in the diagnosis and treatment of neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases.
