Abstract
The book discusses all aspects of expanded dengue syndrome (EDS), an emerging entity of dengue infection, and serves as definitive source of information for health care professionals. With each chapter focusing on a different type of EDS, the book covers the definition, concept, prevalence, pathophysiology, management, complications and outcomes of the condition. It also highlights the impact of the disease on healthcare. Further, based on both basic and the latest, cutting-edge research, it examines treatments, algorithms, standard treatment guidelines and the pharmacotherapy of EDS. EDS is referred to as atypical/unusual manifestations of the dengue infections, also termed as isolated organopathies, including hepatic, renal, cardiac, respiratory and neurological involvements that could be explained as a result of severe, profound shock or associated with underlying host conditions or co-infections. Raising awareness of this neglected and little-known complication of dengue infection, the book serves as an educational and teaching aid and useful resource for upper-undergraduate students. It also provides up-to-date reference material for researchers in academia and corporations as well as for clinicians wanting to improve the management of EDS during dengue outbreaks.

Abstract
The oral board exam for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) can be intimidating to many surgeons due to the broad range of information one must know for the exam. However, while the examination guidelines provide a general outline of topics that may be covered, there is no true direction on how to prepare for it. Traditionally, candidates do so by using what are considered “underground” databanks, previous test questions, and power point presentations that run the gamut of commonly covered material. Until now, there have been no current comprehensive oral board review books available for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery boards. Oral Board Review for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery fills that gap as the go-to resource for those attempting to successfully challenge the oral boards and for residents to polish up on their training. Edited and authored by top physicians in the field, this book is concise and easy to read, yet thorough with high yield information. An outline of the pertinent material is reviewed, and a patient work up is presented. Important questions to ask, signs to look for, and labs/images to order are included. It also includes tables and keywords that are typically mentioned on the exam and also offers explanations to some key points. Next are cases, which are presented in a question and answer format. As the case progresses, more complicated scenarios requiring management are presented. Lastly, complications are covered, which is the final section of each board scenario. Included are basic topics the surgeon needs to know, followed by topics that are nice to know, and numerous highly debated/complex questions that are discussed among candidates preparing for the exam. It should be noted that the authors are not privy to any inside information about the exam. What is presented is material candidates that have successfully passed the exam feel is important to know. This book is not endorsed by American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons or the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Abstract
Now in its second edition utilizing brand new clinical case material, this popular, user-friendly text presents the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer and related clinical issues, providing clinicians in endocrinology and oncology with the best real-world strategies to properly manage the various manifestations of thyroid cancer that they may encounter. Each chapter is a case report that opens with a unique clinical presentation, followed by a description of the diagnosis, assessment and therapy, as well as the case outcome, literature review, clinical pearls and pitfalls, and bibliography. All recommendations are based on evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and recent literature. Written by experts in the field, these cases illustrate treatment for both low- and high-risk differentiated thyroid cancer, including surgical approaches, radioiodine therapy, and novel chemotherapies and targeted therapies, as well as postoperative follow-up and special issues. Additional cases demonstrate the management of medullary thyroid cancer and anaplastic thyroid cancer. Topics new to the second edition include information on management of small thyroid cancers with “active surveillance” (without surgery), new chemotherapeutic approaches to advanced thyroid cancer, and new information on a lesion that is no longer considered to be thyroid cancer (Neoplastic Follicular Thyroid Neoplasm with Papillary-Like Features [NIFTP]), as well as material on external beam radiotherapy and new approaches to the management of anaplastic thyroid cancer. Pragmatic and reader-friendly, this second edition of Thyroid Cancer: A Case-Based Approach will be an excellent resource for clinical endocrinologists and oncologists, endocrine fellows, residents and students alike.

Abstract
This book is an introduction to chest radiology, specifically designed for the needs of first-year residents. On the first rotation in chest imaging, radiology residents are asked to learn significant amounts of information at a fast and unrelenting pace. However, most current books are densely written and contain far more material than residents need to know. Moreover, the number, variety, and quality of images is often limited. What Radiology Residents Need to Know: Chest Radiology answers these needs by presenting the important information in bullet fashion, divided into convenient sub-units, such as “clinical information,” “imaging findings,” and “management.” In most cases, an individual pathological condition can be presented in one page or less. This volume covers such topics as volume loss, pneumonia, pulmonary edema, inhalation diseases, and pulmonary, mediastinal, and pleural tumor imaging. In addition, it contains tips on approaching and interpreting chest radiographs and CT based on decades of practical experience and teaching residents at the work station. With liberal use of images and an online image bank with high-quality images, this book gives readers a comprehensive library of chest imaging scans and serves as an ideal guide for radiology residents.

Abstract
This book informs and enlighten health professionals on how the recognition of fearing women can change their episode of care during childbearing. It gives practical advice on the way women present to services and the challenges that this invokes. This work is the first of its kind aimed at clinicians to deconstruct ideology around childbearing myths and its challenges. The authors review the evidence that exists and how modern maternity systems are responding to fear and shaping healthcare. Whilst some worry and anxiety is expected and indeed considered normal during childbearing, it has been suggested that this has now proliferated to a degree of abnormal for many women. Why is that and how is this panic spread? Media portrayal of birth is suggested as unrealistic material and to show only that which is dramatic and horrific. This has been considered as one factor influencing modern women. Medicalisation, technology and demand upon services is another consequence of providing almost all maternity care in hospitals. Given that the majority of childbearing women are fit and healthy is this another causative factor? By removing women from their homes and families at such a vulnerable time has a serious consequence for how she will experience her greatest leap of faith into motherhood. All of these issues are explored and examined in the book with ideas and practical suggestions of what may be done to change this increasingly common problem. This book is intended for midwives and clinicians working in maternity settings.
Contents
1. History of childbearing and the relevance to anxiety and fear -- 2. Global perspectives of anxiety and fear in childbearing -- 3. The neurophysiology of childbearing fear -- 4. Maternity systems and processes: how they influence women -- 5. The gathering storm -- 6. Life experiences and relevance to birth trauma and fear in childbearing -- 7. Childbearing women presenting with severe fear and tokophobia -- 8. The effects of childbearing anxiety and fear on relationships -- 9. Effects of anxiety and fear on the birth -- 10. Policy and service provision in maternity settings and its influence on childbearing women -- 11. Never safer; never more afraid: women’s voices and stories of childbearing and fear -- 12. Abstract
The diagnostic services—pathology and radiology—are the cornerstone for supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare by providing timely and accurate diagnosis. In this era of precision medicine, it has become increasingly important for these two services to work collaboratively in supporting patients and clinical colleagues by informing and communicating the selection and interpretation of appropriate diagnostic tests, as well as obtaining adequate tissue for diagnosis, prognostication, and therapy at initial presentation and, if required, during disease progression/relapse. This book is aimed at practicing cytopathologists and interventional radiologists as well as trainees in these areas. An essential requirement in the accurate diagnosis of these mass lesion biopsies is the correlation of cytomorphology with the radiological findings and adequate triage of acquired material during the biopsy procedure. The cytologic findings, gross surgically resected specimens, and imaging findings are illustrated to provide a complete pathologic-radiologic correlation of the entities discussed. This Atlas of Cytopathology and Radiology serves as a useful guide for pathologists and radiologists in the appropriate triage and diagnosis of deep seated mass lesions biopsied under ultrasound, CT Scan or fluoroscopic guidance.
