Abstract
Now in a revised and expanded second edition, including an expanded section on running footwear and additional sports-specific recommendations, this updated, practical resource provides a concise and logical approach to prescribing footwear that will maximize performance and minimize injury in athletes. From fundamentals--including athletic foot types, basic biomechanics and gait evaluation--to step-by-step guidance through assessment and prescription of shoes, socks, lacing, inserts, and orthoses, this book is both comprehensive and easily accessible. A new section has been added to cover the array of different considerations for running footwear (barefoot, minimalist, maximalist), as well as new sport-specific recommendations. As in the previous edition, referral, coding and billing are also addressed. Photographs and drawings clearly illustrate key concepts, and wherever relevant, the authors have incorporated evidence-based medicine. By presenting new and updated essential information in a user-friendly format, Athletic Footwear and Orthoses in Sports Medicine, Second Edition will prove to be invaluable for sports medicine physicians, podiatrists, orthopedists, physical therapists, and athletic trainers.

Abstract
This volume provides a broad and critical presentation of the behavioral and psychosocial treatments of Latinxs with dementia in the United States (U.S.) and across a representative sample of Spanish-speaking countries in the world. The compendium of chapters, written by researchers, practitioners, and policy analysts from multiple disciplines provides a deep exploration of the current state of dementia care for Latinxs in the U.S. and around the globe. The volume is designed to increase and strengthen the collective scientific and sociocultural understanding of the epidemiological and biopsychosocial factors, as well as the overlapping systemic challenges that impact diagnosis and symptom management of Latinxs with dementia. The authors introduce policy options to reduce risk factors for dementia and present culturally-responsive interventions that meet the needs of Latinx patients and their caregivers. Caring for Latinxs with Dementia in a Globalized World: Behavioral and Psychosocial Treatments is a resource that accentuates and contextualizes the heterogeneity in nationality, immigration, race, sexual orientation, gender, and political realities. It is a key reference for a wide range of fields inclusive of demography, geriatrics, gerontology, medicine, mental health, neurology, neuropsychology, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacology, psychiatry, psychology, rehabilitation, social work, sociology, and statistics all of which, collectively, bear on the problem and the solutions for better care for Latinxs affected by dementia.

Abstract
The series "Clinical Approach and Procedures in Cosmetic Dermatology" intends to be a practical guide in Cosmetic Dermatology. Procedures in cosmetic dermatology are very popular and useful in medicine, indicated to complement topical and oral treatments not only for photodamaged skin but also for other dermatosis such as acne, rosacea, scars, etc. Also, full-face treatments using peelings, lasers, fillers and toxins are increasingly being used, successfully substituting or postponing the need for plastic surgeries. Altogether, these techniques not only provide immediate results but also help patients to sustain long-term benefits, both preventing/treating dermatological diseases and maintaining a healthy and youthful skin. Throughout this series, different treatments in Cosmetic Dermatology will be discussed in detail covering the use of many pharmacological groups of cosmeceuticals, the new advances in nutraceuticals and emerging technologies and procedures. This volume discusses in detail the applicability and benefits of chemical peelings. Here are discussed in detail the use of superficial, medium and deep peelings.
Contents
SECTION A: CHEMICAL SUPERFICIAL PEELINGS -- 1. Retinoic acid -- 2. Glycolic acid -- 3. Salicylic acid -- 4. Jessner solution -- 5. Other superficial peelings -- 6. This book is designed to meet the needs of both dental students and dentists by providing succinct and quickly retrievable answers to common dental questions. Students will find both that it clearly presents the particulars which should be familiar to every dentist and that it enables them to see the "big picture" and contextualize information introduced to them in the future. Practicing dentists, on the other hand, will employ the book as a daily reference to source information on important topics, materials, techniques, and conditions. The book is neither discipline nor specialty specific. The first part is wide ranging and covers the essentials of dental practice while the second part addresses individual specialties and the third is devoted to emergency dental treatment. Whether as a handy resource in the student's backpack or as a readily available tool on the office desk, this reference manual fills an important gap in the dental literature.

Abstract
Due to significant advances in minimally invasive techniques, the endovascular approach is being increasingly used in the treatment of vascular diseases. Endovascular interventions avoid the trauma of conventional surgery, particularly for patients who are at high risk due to age or comorbidity. Endovascular Interventions: A Case-Based Approach presents the current methodology underlying the endovascular treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disorders. Using a case-based approach, it presents readers with a range of complexities and complications encountered in daily practice, together with tips and tricks for overcoming them. The editors, Robert Dieter, Raymond Dieter, Jr., Raymond Dieter, III, and Aravinda Nanjundappa, are recognized for their work in interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and bring a unique perspective to the use of these approaches. The chapters are written by leading international authorities in endovascular treatment of arterial, venous, and lymphatic vessels and discuss the conditions for which these interventions are appropriate, including intracranial strokes, restenotic lesions, subclavian artery stenosis, upper and lower extremity artery disease, ascending aortic pseudoaneurysm, abdominal aortic aneurysm, complications of intra-aortic balloon pumps, vasculitis, and iatrogenic aortic dissection. This book is a practical guide and valuable resource for practicing vascular specialists, interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and cardiothoracic surgeons. Foreword by Denton A. Cooley, MD, President Emeritus and Surgeon-in-Chief, Texas Heart Institute.

Abstract
This book is open access under a CC BY-NC 2.5 license. This book consolidates experiences from across Europe on the design, development, implementation and evolution of inter-organisational information infrastructures for healthcare. It provides insights with practical relevance for those involved or interested in the planning and implementation of such infrastructures and includes 11 empirical cases on the introduction of core infrastructural arrangements in different national settings: six cases investigate the use of e-prescriptions and five the public platforms for patient-oriented eHealth services. Both are linked to different types of aims. E-prescription initiatives are usually seen as opportunities to improve healthcare delivery by systematic change (controlling medication costs, improving patient safety and providing rich information for policy making and performance management). Public platforms for patient-oriented eHealth services are seen as opportunities for change and innovation, aiming to strengthen the patients' role and facilitate a shift from provider-centered healthcare towards patient-centeredness. For both types of initiatives, there is a requirement to mix novelty with pre-existing infrastructural components. The cases are analysed by leading experts in health information systems through a common theoretical framework, exploring the role of the pre-existing sociotechnical basis, i.e. the installed base, and how it fundamentally impacts the evolution of information infrastructures. The book advances an "installed base sensitivity"" in decision-making both at the policy/strategy level and at the concrete eHealth design level and shows how practitioners and policy-makers can address the complexity of infrastructures that facilitate information flows across organisational boundaries.

Abstract
This book explores key developments in Non-medical Prescribing in the UK. Addressing the needs of countries in the European Market and beyond, which have been closely watching UK developments and would be interested in embedding or developing counterparts of their own.á Featuring chapters by clinicians, leaders and practitioners in the UK Non-medical Prescribing arena, it identifies both current and potential future developments. Attention is paid to the different prescribing practices and governance within the four countries constituting the United Kingdom. áMany lessons have been learned along the way and the purpose of this book is to share these lessons, tog ether with best practice examples in connection with the implementation of nurse/health professional led patient care, implementation of patient centered practice, and governance. Designated Registered Practitioners who have completed an enhanced training now receive a professional body qualification which enables them to prescribe within their scope of practice as Non-medical Independent Prescribers and, providing that they are competent, from anywhere within the British National Formulary independently of doctors; for Nurses, this also includes most controlled drugs. The book will be of interest to policy makers and to forward-looking professionals and practitioners in the diverse European Health and Social Care market.

Abstract
This unique book is the first on pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation that is especially intended for pharmacists – in recognition of the fact that Pediatric Oncology Pharmacy is an area where more and more specific knowledge is required in daily practice, yet pharmacists who work in pediatric stem cell transplantation do not have a book addressing their specific needs. This pioneering book will likely become the new gold standard for practice, addressing subjects such as stem cells and their differentiation mechanisms; aspects of embryonic and non-embryonic stem cells; stem cell transplantation in pediatrics; stem cell sources and related technical choices; stem cell donors; scheduling transplantations; diseases and chemotherapy protocols that require stem cell transplantation; stem cell homing; engraftment and repopulation of stem cells in bone marrow; autologous stem cell transplantation in pediatrics; allogeneic stem cell transplantation in pediatrics; and indications for autologous and allogeneic pediatric stem cell transplantation. Further, it discusses pediatric graft-versus-host disease and the pharmacist; antibacterial and antifungal prophylaxis; detailed chemotherapy, conditioning and trials for pediatric stem cell transplantation; conditioning granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) in pediatric stem cell transplantation; analyzing prescriptions and programming a pediatric stem cell transplantation; handling chemotherapy and adjuvant drugs for pediatric stem cell transplantation; stem cell transplantation in children up to 1 year old; and clinical pharmacy in pediatric stem cell transplantation. An easy-to-read yet comprehensive guide covering a wide range of topics essential to daily practice, the book offers an invaluable asset for pediatric hemato/ oncology pharmacists, hematologist pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, pediatric pharmacists, pharmaceutical residents and researchers alike.

Abstract
This book is the 4th in a series of Acute Care books written with the aim to address the NEEDS of health care providers when handling the acutely ill patients. Globally it has become apparent that the study of pharmacology and subsequent clinical training has not always adequately equipped young doctors with the ability to administer drugs to their patients safely and confidently, particularly in the critically ill patient. Compounding this issue is the lack of resource material related to these pharmacological concepts contained in one book that can help health care providers to understand and manage drug therapy in the acute situation. In spite of progressively newer and more developed protocols, guidelines, algorithms and many other books addressing the technical aspects of what needs to be done, most health care providers still find it difficult to grasp the basic pharmacological knowledge and rationally deliver the care that is required in the acute phase of patient management. The editors/authors have therefore aimed for a book that highlights topics and pharmacological issues pertinent to management of patients in their hour of need. This is a multi-author book but the style has been guided by 3 editors. The editors have used a different perspective--that of normalizing abnormal physiological processes with pharmacological agents--to address the gaps in a bedside to bench approach. The details are pared down but important principles/concepts are emphasized.
