The minimally invasive surgical techniques appropriate to individual types of fracture are then fully described and depicted, covering fractures of the shoulder and elbow, wrist, pelvis and hip, knee, and ankle. Guidance is also provided on avoidance and management of complications and rehabilitation. The closing section addresses relevant miscellaneous issues, including arthroscopic management of temporomandibular joint fractures and extended indications for endoscopy-assisted fracture fixation. Abstract
This unique text focuses entirely on the treatment of pediatric elbow fractures, which encompass the vast majority of operative cases for pediatric fracture care, and which can be challenging to even the most experienced surgeon. The book opens with a survey of the basic anatomy and development of the elbow, as well as examination and imaging techniques. Both acute and chronic fractures are then discussed in detail, beginning with a brief outline of the epidemiology, classification, and work-up of each fracture, but the main focus will be on providing a master's approach to the surgical treatment of these injuries, including supracondylar fractures, capitellar shear fractures, elbow dislocations, Monteggia fracture dislocations, and cubitus varus and valgus, among others. Numerous photographs, figures and videos will enable the orthopedic surgeon, hand surgeon, and trauma surgeon to be fully prepared to treat any of these fractures.

Thanks to an increasing life expectancy of our populations the number of elderly persons is steadily growing and will continue to do so. Among these, the rate of persons with illnesses and degenerative diseases is significant. The prevalence of osteoporosis is especially high in elderly women and leads to typical fracture patterns. Hip fractures, proximal humerus fractures, distal radius fractures and fractures of the vertebral column are the most common. In the last decade, we are confronted with a sharp increase of fragility fractures of the pelvis. Until now, there is no consensus on how to identify and classify these lesions and there are no guidelines for treatment and after treatment. In particular, there is no common view on which patients need an operative treatment and which technique of osteosynthesis should be used. This book fills the gap in available literature and gives a state of the art guide to the treatment of fragility fractures of the pelvis. With the sharp increase of these fractures and the lacking consensus, Fragility Fractures of the Pelvis will become indispensable for the physicians who take care of elderly patients with this pathology. This work demonstrates that hand and wrist rehabilitation calls for precise anatomical, biomechanical, and physiological expertise, as well as mastery of manual techniques and targeted physiotherapy. Particular attention is given to the complementarity between theoretical knowledge and practical aspects; accordingly, refreshers on the underlying theory; descriptions of the rehabilitation protocols and the specific manual and instrumental techniques; and the type of orthesis used depending on the delay of healing are provided for each pathology.
