Abstract
Obesity is a relatively new and controversial field of medicine. Some of the controversies surrounding obesity can be dismissed as myths, others reveal the lack of consensus and comprehensive knowledge which exist in obesity and its complex relationship with diabetes and other serious long-term conditions. Controversies in Obesity takes the unique approach of assessing the controversies surrounding obesity, thus seeking to debunk the myths and highlight and explore the genuine science, whilst demonstrating areas where there is healthy debate. This book will appeal to primary care physicians, trainees and specialist nurses involved in care of the obese patient, and would be of interest to anyone who wishes to gain a better understanding of the complex nature of obesity and its management.

Suggestions for further reading are included, providing more context for well-established clinical approaches. Written by experts with years of experience providing endocrinology consultations in a hospital setting, Handbook of Inpatient Endocrinology is a valuable, high-yield resource for endocrine residents and fellows, but it will be equally useful for any busy hospitalist or primary care physician when endocrinology consults are not available.

This book offers comprehensive coverage of both basic and clinical aspects of immune reactions responsible for infertility. It has four sections focusing on Sperm antigens, Antisperm antibodies (ASAs), Clinical impact of ASAs, and Immune contraception, and include contributions from leading experts in these fields. This new edition of the book offers a comprehensive update that reflects the very significant advances in reproductive immunology that have been achieved over the past five years, especially related to the sperm proteome, sperm-egg binding/fusion proteins, gene knockout studies, and immunocontraception. Reproductive immunology continues to be a fast-growing discipline in which new knowledge is emerging almost every day. Immune Infertility is a model source of vital and reliable information on the latest scientific developments in the field. It will be of value for clinicians, scientists, students, residents, and fellows working in reproductive biology, obstetrics and gynecology, and urology.

Abstract
This book presents current clinical knowledge relating to key topics in acute and chronic pain in a multiple choice question (MCQ) format. Individual chapters are devoted to subjects such as the anatomy of pain pathways, pain processing, evaluation of pain, different pain syndromes and pain involving different regions of the body, pharmacologic and physical pain management, neural blockade, and special procedures. Each of the MCQs has four or five answer options in true/false format, and the answers are discussed in detail with provision of suitable references whenever appropriate. Multiple Choice Questions in Pain Management will be especially valuable for those who are sitting anesthesia board exams anywhere in the world. It will, for example, meet the needs of candidates for the FRCA examination (in which 20-25% of MCQs relate to pain management) or the FFPMRCA examination (Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists). In addition, the book will be useful for pain fellows and for all clinicians who are seeking to improve their knowledge of pain management.

Abstract
Interest in regional anaesthesia has been flourishing for a number of reasons, including in particular the feasibility of ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks. This trend is reflected in the growing popularity of fellowships in regional anaesthesia. The syllabus for such fellowship examinations is vast, and this book aims to provide suitable guidance by presenting typical multiple choice questions with accompanying answers, in detail when necessary. The entire syllabus is covered in four comprehensive sections that address basic principles and equipment, peripheral nerve blocks, central neuraxial blocks, and regional anaesthesia and acute pain. Multiple Choice Questions in Regional Anaesthesia will be especially useful for those preparing for European Society of Regional Anaesthesia diploma examinations or for the regional anaesthesia component of FRCA examinations. It is also highly relevant to equivalent U.S. and Canadian examinations and will be helpful to all who require a self-assessment tool in the subject.
Contents
Benefits and Complications -- Equipment and Usage of Ultrasound -- Pharmacology -- The Upper Extremity -- Lower Limb Blocks -- Ophthalmic Block -- Head, Neck and Airway -- Neuraxial Block -- Regional Anaesthesia in Obstetrics -- Regional Anaesthesia in Paediatrics -- Further Reading.

Abstract
Pain management is a vast subject and is changing rapidly. Finding a good resource for learning, however, is difficult. Most of the available books are lengthy volumes including many details irrelevant to physicians sitting for examinations or assessment. Furthermore, books aimed at assisting preparation for entire anaesthesia exams typically address pain management in only one chapter or a few pages. This book covers the entire curriculum relating to pain management and will make it easy to learn all aspects of the subject by covering key concepts in a reader-friendly manner. It comprises nine concise and simple chapters that aim to impart the maximum information within a limited space. These chapters address anatomy, assessment of pain, diagnosis of pain, pharmacology, non-pharmacological pain management, acute and chronic pain management, pain management in special groups, and special techniques. Pain Management: Essential Topics for Examinations will be an ideal resource for those who plan to sit for examinations, wherever they are based in the world. In addition, it will be an invaluable reference for higher and advanced pain trainees, residents, and physicians working in chronic pain.

Abstract
This book offers an overview of the clinical applications of PET/MR imaging through a case-based format. Hybrid PET/MRI provides functional and anatomical information via one setting offering superior imaging quality with lower radiation dose being administered to the patient. The cases in this book focus on the use of this technique in the diagnosis of oncologic, neurologic, cardiovascular, infectious and inflammatory, and pediatric diseases. Each case is presented with the patient history, protocols, interpretation of findings, and pearls and pitfalls accompanied by high quality PET/MR images. The major strength of this book is the discussion of both MRI and PET findings pertinent to each particular case. It expands the discussion of oncologic applications of this modality through aávariety of cases that highlight staging, treatment response, and follow up. Illustrating a spectrum of PET/MRI clinical applications, PET/MR Imaging: A Case-Based Approach is a valuable resource for radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and residents.

Abstract
This book offers a comprehensive view of ethical, medicolegal, and forensic issues common to aging psychiatric patients. Written by experts in the field, this volume includes assessments of each patient’s capacity to make decisions, live independently, manage finances, drive a vehicle, have sexual relations, and a wide array of other topics in the context of ethics and the law. The text also discusses guardianship and care for patients who are no longer fit to handle their own care and the ethical dilemmas associated with these challenges. Finally, the text covers aging adults in the criminal justice system from an epidemiological perspective—a problem that is steadily increasing in many nations, including the United States. Psychiatric Ethics in Late-Life Patients is an excellent resource for all physicians navigating legal and ethical scenarios involving aging patients, including general, geriatric, and forensic psychiatrists, geriatricians, primary care providers, geriatric nurses, social workers, public health officials, and all others.
