Abstract
This book explores the recent clinical and research findings in the field of prenatal screening and diagnosis. It presents new devices and tests such as real-time 3D ultrasound, ultrafast fetal MRI, and next-generation sequencing and discusses genetic counseling and fetal therapy. Written by pioneering scientists, the book is divided into six themed parts: ultrasound examination, genetic tests, genetic disorders, chromosomal diseases, genetic counseling, and techniques, presenting carefully prepared original data. This thought-provoking, instructive and informative book is intended for geneticists, obstetricians, pediatricians, genetic counselors and nurses. Although the incidence of congenital abnormalities such as structural, chromosomal and genetic disorders is very low, it is important to have accurate information on their incidence and likely outcome, and on the screening and diagnosis of congenital abnormalities during pregnancy care. This book provides valuable insights into prenatal screening, genetic counseling and fetal diagnosis.

Abstract
This volume presents the latest advances and the current status of our understanding regarding ovarian cancer, addressing both the basic and clinical aspects of the disease. In terms of basic medicine, the WHO Classification of Tumors of Female Reproductive Organs was revised in 2014, and that version addresses several new concepts and histopathological classifications not previously included. One of the most revolutionary breakthroughs concerns the genesis of epithelial ovarian tumors, shifting the focus from the ovarian surface epithelium to serous tubal intraepithelial carcinomas. Clinically, the mortality rate of epithelial ovarian cancer has gradually increased over the past few decades, making it essential to pursue multidisciplinary treatment and apply novel techniques such as neoadjuvant chemotherapy in daily clinical practice. The primary clinical task is the effective treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer with early palliative medicine. Fertility-sparing surgery may also be pursued depending on histologic subtypes, stage, extent of disease, and preexisting ovarian reserve with the concept of oncofertility. On the basis of the considerations described above, each expert author elucidates the science of ovarian cancer in detail, thus providing a collection that will benefit young medical oncologists and seasoned gynecologists and obstetricians alike.

Abstract
This volume presents the scientific advances and current status of our understanding of precision medicine for common diseases in gynecology and obstetrics. Standard treatments based on clinical guidelines in the field have been established for decades, and those are essential to daily clinical practice. Meanwhile comprehensive genomic and genetic analyses have led to personalized medicine by precise clinical and genomic approaches. This book is organized into two major parts, gynecology and obstetrics, and the chapters in each part give a clear exposition of the current knowledge and the future perspectives for the treatment of various gynecological cancers, maternal disorders, and other diseases that affect female patients. Topics on novel treatment strategy with the application of molecular targeted drugs, immunotherapy, and prevention medicine are also covered. This collection benefits not only experienced gynecologists and obstetricians, but also young physicians who would like to begin clinical and basic research on diseases in women, researchers in basic medicine, and all medical oncologists who are involved in gynecological cancers.

Abstract
This volume is an excellent guide that comprehensively illustrates hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, especially preeclampsia, in both the basic and clinical aspects. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific multi-organ disorder and a leading cause of maternal and neonatal mortality. The pathophysiology of pregnancy-specific disorders was long unknown, but recently many new findings have been reported from the point of view of pathophysiology. Furthermore, this complication of pregnancy, especially preeclampsia, is a potent risk factor for chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, kidney disease, and hypertension. The book is composed of seven parts including genetic background, pathology, pathophysiology, and the latest prediction and treatment of preeclampsia. Specific basic topics such as immunological maladaptation, placental adenosine signaling, and new prediction markers are also expounded by experts. Thus it benefits not only obstetricians, pediatricians, nephrologists, diabetologists, and cardiologists, but also immunologists, endocrinologists, geneticists, pathologists, biologists, and molecular biologists who are interested in the treatment of hypertension in pregnancy.

Abstract
This volume elucidates state-of-the-art findings of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis, incorporating expert basic knowledge. Uterine fibroids and adenomyosis are common uterine tumors in reproductive-age women. However, the pathogenesis of the tumors is still poorly understood, and both genetic and environmental factors may be involved in their generation or development. Recent research on the genomics and molecular biology of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis has facilitated a better understanding of the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of these benign tumors. Renowned experts provide detailed discussions of basic research and clinical aspects of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis in this book, from histopathology and molecular pathogenesis to diagnosis and the latest treatment of uterine fibroids, including pregnancy complications of adenomyosis. A great deal of information and a deep understanding of molecular and genetic biology have led to development of more innovative treatments of these tumors. Thus this book benefits not only oncologists, seasoned gynecologists, and obstetricians, but also molecular biologists and other basic researchers who are involved in the treatment of uterine fibroids.
Contents
