Abstract
This practical resource provides the latest evidence, management strategies and recommendations for the treatment of disorders of the adrenal glands, including related physiology, genetics and pharmacology. This book is divided into three thematic sections. The first covers adrenal physiology, presenting adrenal zonation and development, the regulation of steroidogenesis, and the pharmacology of glucocortisoids. Part two discusses the genetics and pathophysiology of a number of adrenal disorders, including autoimmune Addison's disease, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, primary aldosteronism, adrenocortical tumors and hyperplasias, and pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas. The final section presents the latest diagnostic and management strategies for these disorders, addressing adrenal insufficiency, adrenal Cushing's Syndrome and aldosteronism, among others. Over the past twenty years, our understanding of disorders of the adrenal glands has been altered and deepened. Providing a much-needed update to the literature, Adrenal Disorders: Physiology, Pathophysiology and Treatment will be an important resource for both academic and clinical endocrinologists working with the adrenal glands and managing patients with adrenal disorders.

Abstract
This unique book is a practical guide for the clinician faced with the challenge of diagnosing and managing neonates, infants and children with congenital hyperinsulinism (HI), within the framework of pathophysiology and molecular genetics. Major advances have been made in HI research over the past two decades, and with this better understanding of the molecular genetics of HI, a “personalized” approach to management according to the type of hyperinsulinism, and particularly according to the likelihood of focal hyperinsulinism, is starting to emerge. The opening chapter discusses HI diagnosis using biochemical approaches and phenotype characterization. The various forms of HI are then presented in detail in three main categories: diazoxide-responsive, diazoxide-unresponsive and syndromic HI. Both medical and surgical management strategies are then discussed, covering imaging, histology, surgical approach, and post-operative management. Complications, such as feeding problems, and long-term outcomes, such as neurodevelopmental issues, are carefully considered in the final chapter. Practical and user-friendly, Congenital Hyperinsulinism is the go-to resource for pediatric endocrinologists, residents and fellows, general pediatricians and neonatologists.

Abstract
Now in a revised and expanded second edition, this comprehensive clinical guide remains a state-of-the-art synthesis of the literature, covering all aspects of treating erectile dysfunction (ED) and other related male sexual dysfunctions. Cardiovascular, hormonal, psychological and lifestyle factors are each considered in diagnosis and treatment, which includes pharmacological, surgical and prosthetic management strategies. The effects of prostate cancer and its treatment are also discussed, as are Peyronie's disease, priapism and ejaculatory disorders. New chapters in this edition discuss the profound effects of lifestyle change on sexual function, alternative and internet drugs that affect sexual function, endovascular approaches to ED, penile length considerations, the effect of radiation on erectile function, and optimizing ED research. Presenting a better understanding of what causes erectile dysfunction and the effective medications and non-medication treatments used to treat the condition, this invaluable title offers all physicians, residents, and fellows--and even medical students and other health professionals such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants--an essential reference for enhancing diagnosis and treatment of this common and debilitating disorder.

Abstract
This book provides the reader with comprehensive information on the interactions between diabetes and a wide range of comorbid conditions and on disease management in such patients. It has the aim of empowering health care providers in their daily battle against the disease and its consequences. Diabetes has been identified by WHO and the United Nations as a medical emergency because of the increase in its global prevalence, which may reach one billion in three to four decades if the trend remains unchanged. Despite improved care that is helping to prolong life, diabetes impacts substantially on the quality of life of those affected and kills or disables several million people each year. The disease is systemic because all organs, tissues, and cells suffer in the presence of hyperglycemia and are damaged by the diabetic milieu. Unfortunately, most patients with diabetes will consequently experience chronic diabetic complications. This book will be of value for all physicians an d nurses who care for patients with diabetes and face the challenge of treating hyperglycemia and related acute and chronic complications.

Abstract
Based on the most novel approaches and cutting-edge clinical and scientific information regarding radionuclide imaging and therapies for neuroendocrine tumors, this clinical guidebook represents a unique collaborative effort between endocrinologists, nuclear physicians, oncologists, surgeons, physicists, radio-pharmacists and geneticists. It begins with the embryology, classification and molecular genetics of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors and carcinoids, chromaffin cell tumors, and MEN1- and MEN2-related tumors. Following a chapter on radiopharmaceuticals in neuroendocrine imaging, it turns to the physics and technology of current and cutting-edge radiology, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT and PET/MR. Discussing of radionuclide imaging covers the tumors mentioned above, as well as pulmonary and thymic neuroendocrine tumors and medullary thyroid carcinoma. A presentation of radionuclide therapies follows, including 131I-MIBG therapy, somatostatin receptor-based therapy, and alpha radionuclide therapy, as well as the role of nanoparticles. Comprehensive and up-to-date, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine for Neuroendocrine Tumors will assist and guide physicians who encounter patients with these conditions, either from a diagnostic or therapeutic standpoint, and particularly emphasizes the current and emerging medical devices and imaging and therapeutic options.

Abstract
Dyslipidemias: Pathophysiology, Evaluation and Management provides a wealth of general and detailed guidelines for the clinical evaluation and management of lipid disorders in adults and children. Covering the full range of common through rare lipid disorders, this timely resource offers targeted, practical information for all clinicians who care for patients with dyslipidemias, including general internists, pediatric and adult endocrinologists, pediatricians, lipidologists, cardiologists, internists, and geneticists. For the last twenty years, there has been a growing recognition worldwide of the importance of managing dyslipidemia for the primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic vascular disease, especially coronary heart disease. This has been mainly due to the publication of the guidelines of National Cholesterol Education Program's Adult Treatment Panel and Pediatric Panel from the United States. These guidelines have stimulated generation of similar recommendations from all over the world, particularly Europe, Canada, Australia and Asia. Developed by a renowned group of leading international experts, the book offers state-of-the-art chapters that are peer-reviewed and represent a comprehensive assessment of the field. A major addition to the literature, Dyslipidemias: Pathophysiology, Evaluation and Management is a gold-standard level reference for all clinicians who are challenged to provide the best care and new opportunities for patients with dyslipidemias.
