Abstract
This book provides a practical guide to the diagnosis of cervical lesions. Chapters detail recent changes to diagnostic criteria and classification and the impacts these developments have on patient management. The anatomy and histology of the cervix are discussed, along with macroscopic and microscopic changes, prognostic and predictive parameters, epidemiological data, and staging systems. Atlas of Diagnostic Pathology of the Cervix: A Case-Based Approach utilizes diagnostic algorithms and highlights to offer readers appropriate management criteria and aims to give trainees, practicing pathologists, and gynecologists a case-based approach to the treatment of cervical lesions.

Abstract
Honey has a long and interesting history. Since Biblical times and before, it has been known to have beneficial health effects, and it is still widely used in ‘folk medicine’. Recently, the therapeutic virtues of honey have been rediscovered by the medical profession and are gaining acceptance for treating ulcers, wounds and other surface infections. Wound healing is of great relevance for skin medicine and a particular focus is set on natural compounds. Literature reports show that honey has been successfully used on infections that were unresponsive to standard antiseptic and antibiotic therapy. Honey has been renowned since ancient times for skin care, dermatologic, and wound-healing properties. Its physicochemical properties make it perfect for wound dressing, providing moisture, contrasting infections, reducing inflammation, oedema, and exudation, and preventing bandages from sticking to wounds. Honey is increasingly used as a wound dressing in clinical settings, but the relationships between its healing properties and the wound repair mechanism are still largely unexplored. In spite of a vast amount of literature about the clinical uses of honey, the subjacent mechanisms of action are still largely obscure. In a number of cases, beneficial effects have been ascribed to antiseptic properties, but accumulating data suggests the involvement of other specific physiological mechanisms that this book explores.

Abstract
Dietary Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Cancer provides all the latest information on the possible benefits of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) against a wide series of cancers. Several influential scientists in this field have contributed to make this book an unique one amongst the others published so far in this field. The chapters give detailed information about the results obtained in this field through experimental studies conducted on both animals and cultured cells, as well as through human intervention trials and epidemiological observational studies. This book represents an important tool for researchers working in nutrition and oncology, since it collects all the knowledge about omega-3 PUFAs and cancer, even the most recent, in a single publication. For the first time controversies among the different studies are also covered with great details in this book. The book makes physicians able to clearly understand on a scientific basis if their oncologic patients or patients at risk of cancer could actually benefit from a diet enriched in omega-3 PUFAs or from a dietary supplementation with these fatty acids. The book represents also a good resource for ordinary individuals as well as cancer patients to learn more about omega-3 PUFAs and understand how these dietary components may effect cancer growth.

Abstract
This book presents the basic concepts for understanding and practicing breast pathology in routine practice. It explains how to tackle the diagnosis, emphasizing diagnostic clues for each entity as well as pitfalls and mimickers. Each chapter has concise, relevant text illustrated by numerous high-quality pictures highlighting the pearls and challenges in the diagnosis of breast lesions. Experts from around the world describe common and rarer conditions affecting the breast. Histology, immunohistochemistry, cytology, radiology and key morphologic criteria are covered. The book includes a chapter dedicated to breast normal histology, which is very important for understanding breast pathology, and a separate chapter for breast radiology, which is essential in understanding and diagnosing the breast lesions especially in a multidisciplinary team. Also, there is a chapter with the latest TNM staging system as well as the recently revised World Health Organization classification of breast tumors. Since in many breast units the cytology is still used to diagnose breast lesions there is a chapter dedicated to this technique. This book is aimed at trainees and practicing pathologists in surgical pathology, particularly those with an interest in breast pathology and those tackling the daily sign-out.

Abstract
This book provides a comprehensive survey of the pharmacokinetic models used for the quantitative interpretation of contrast-enhanced imaging. It discusses all the available imaging technologies and the problems related to the calibration of the imaging system and accuracy of the estimated physiological parameters. Enhancing imaging modalities using contrast agents has opened up new opportunities for going beyond morphological information and enabling minimally invasive assessment of tissue and organ functionality down to the molecular level. In combination with mathematical modeling of the contrast agent kinetics, contrast- enhanced imaging has the potential to provide clinically valuable additional information by estimating quantitative physiological parameters. The book presents the broad spectrum of diagnostic possibilities provided by quantitative contrast-enhanced imaging, with a particular focus on cardiology and oncology, as well as novel developments in the area of quantitative molecular imaging along with their potential clinical applications. Given the variety of available techniques, the choice of the appropriate imaging modality and the most suitable pharmacokinetic model is often challenging. As such, the book provides a valuable technical guide for researchers, clinical scientists, and experts in the field who wish to better understand and properly apply tracer-kinetic modeling for quantitative contrast-enhanced imaging.

Abstract
This book describes the anatomy and biomechanics of the trapeziometacarpal joint and explains the pathogenesis and treatment of trapeziometacarpal joint osteoarthritis, also known as rhizarthrosis. The discussion of treatment sets out both conservative and surgical approaches, clearly explaining the indications for the various options, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. The trapeziometacarpal joint is a phylogenetically recent articulation that permits the pinching movements of the index finger and thumb so important in daily activities. Degenerative disease involving the trapeziometacarpal joint is an important disabling condition that affects predominantly females over 50 years old. Although a number of treatments are now available, there is no single gold standard. Conservative treatments can control pain yet are unable to halt progression of the articular aging, while none of the surgical solutions employed when conservative treatments prove insufficient can be considered perfect. For example, use of a spacer can restore strength but does not always completely alleviate pain while arthroplasty eradicates pain within a few weeks but cannot restore strength. In thoroughly reviewing the available treatments, this book will enable the practitioner to select the best option for the individual patient.

Abstract
This book describes a novel therapy for obesity that associates the traditional procedures of weight-loss lifestyle modification with specific, individualized cognitive behavioral procedures to address some obstacles that have been indicated by recent research to influence weight loss and maintenance. The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Obesity (CBT-OB) can be used to treat all classes of obesity, including patients with severe comorbidities and disability associated with obesity, who are not usually included in traditional weight-loss lifestyle modification treatments. The book describes the treatment program in detail, and with numerous clinical vignettes. It also discusses involving significant others in the change process and adapting the CBT-OB for patients with severe obesity, binge-eating disorder, medical and psychiatric comorbidity, and treated with weight-loss drugs or bariatric surgery. Lastly, a chapter is dedicated to the use of digital technology with CBT-OB in order to help patients monitor their food intake and physical activity and to addressing obstacles in real time. Thanks to the description of how to apply the latest, evidence-based CBT-OB to real world settings, this volume is a valuable useful tool for all specialists - endocrinologists, nutritionists, dietitians, psychologists, psychiatrists - who deal with obesity and eating disorders.
