- This pamphlet is a French translation of "Talking to Children About Death and Grief: Information for Parents and Caregivers" pamphlet 2024. This pamphlet outlines how to help your child cope with dying, death, and grief. It explains how children may react when someone is very ill, planning appropriately for family visits at the hospital or hospice, the importance of making time to talk to your child, guidance on whether children should be present at death, and guidance on telling a child that someone has died. Other topics include: getting ready for rituals and funerals, the importance of children needing to talk about grief openly, keeping reminders of your loved one, how their reactions may differ from those of an adult, and asking for extra support when your child gets anxious.
