Abstract
Since the first endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm was reported in the early 1990s, there has been an explosion in the volume and complexity of endovascular and hybrid procedures for the treatment of aortic diseases. Endovascular techniques and technologies have evolved from the initial devices that allowed treatment of only the most straightforward infrarenal aneurysms with appropriately long and straight necks to the scenario that pertains today, wherein a customized endovascular solution is almost always available for even the most complex aortic aneurysm. There is growing evidence in favor of the endovascular treatment of these aneurysms, which extend above the visceral aortic segment, as well as for the treatment of thoracic aortic dissection and aneurysm. These new endoaortic surgical procedures have been proven to shorten hospitalization, reduce morbidity and mortality, speed recovery, and hasten return to normal life, while their evolution and conceptual design would obviously not be possible without the simultaneous explosion in medical imaging technologies that has taken place over a similar time period. The Atlas of Advanced Endoaortic Surgery has been compiled to engage its readers in a comprehensive yet concise manner, with numerous illustrations of real clinical cases. It provides a useful tool for practitioners as they plan and execute treatment of patients with these various aortic pathologies, and serves as a useful reference as this segment of the field continues to evolve.

Abstract
This book systematically assesses common complications that can occur in the clinical practice of corneal laser surgery. It provides practical tips to better diagnose and manage pre, intra and postoperative complications of laser corneal surgery. Throughout the book the spectrum of all currently performed refractive (PRK, LASIK, Femto-LASIK, RELEX-SMILE) and therapeutic (Photo Therapeutic Keratectomy, topography based keratectomy, Femto-/ Excimer-laser assisted keratoplasty) laser corneal techniques is presented by international experts in the field. It is well-structured to serve as a quick reference guide: including short paragraphs and bullet point-like presentations of key information. Complications in Corneal Laser Surgery describes all aspects of complications, their prevention and their management, such as intraoperative flap cutting errors, decentration of optical zone, incorrect transfer of laser parameters and postoperative complications. In addition to informing readers of complications in corneal laser surgery, there is also a chapter dedicated to corneal topography and tomography to diagnose ectasia risk factors with the most updated tools. Refractive surgeons seeking to develop a better understanding of diagnosing and managing complications will find this book to be an indispensable resource for their day-to-day clinical work in the area of corneal laser surgery.

Abstract
This book provides a detailed, up-to-date overview of cystic tumors of the pancreas, with coverage of all aspects of diagnosis and treatment (medical, endoscopic, and surgical). After opening chapters on pathology and classification, cytology, molecular biology, and epidemiology, the role of each of the relevant diagnostic methods is carefully examined. The treatment-related chapters describe surgical approaches, including minimally invasive surgery, as well as ablation modalities and chemo-radiotherapy. Thorough guidance is also provided specifically on the management of cystic tumors in high-risk cases and on follow-up. The authors are global opinion leaders in their field who have contributed cutting-edge chapters, with emphasis on clear diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms and with numerous supporting tables and illustrations. Owing to the widespread use of imaging modalities, clinicians are being confronted by an increasing number of patients with cystic tumors of the pancreas, ranging from benign cysts to metastasized malignancies. The widening spectrum of available diagnostic measures has resulted in controversy over the choice of further means of investigation when cystic changes are encountered, and the growth in therapeutic options has similarly been accompanied by considerable debate over their use. Against this background, Cystic Tumors of the Pancreas will be a valuable source of relevant information for both clinicians and surgeons and will also be of interest to radiologists, pathologists, and basic scientists.

Abstract
This powerful history describes the daily progression of the Ebola outbreak that swept across West Africa and struck Europe and America from December 2013 to June 2016. A case study on a massive scale, it follows the narratives of numerous patients as well as the journey of physicians and scientists from discovery to action and from tracking to containment. The unfolding story reveals ever-shifting complexities such as the varied paths the infection took from country to country, the multiple responses of community members, and the occurrence of flare-ups when the outbreak was seemingly over. The book's finely-documented present-tense reporting records key facts, events, and observations, including: Routes of Ebola transmission, incubation, symptoms, short- and long-term effects on survivors; Early attempts to understand and contain the virus and curb practices contributing to its spread; Medical, governmental, and public responses, from local education programs to global efforts; Communication and conflict between healthcare workers and communities; Social and economic outcomes of Ebola in the affected nations. Ebola remains incurable, although a vaccine is now available. For members of the medical community, public health officials, medical historians, scholarly professionals, and interested laypeople, A Day-by-Day Chronicle of the 2013-2016 Ebola Outbreak makes starkly clear what we can learn from these events not only for future outbreaks of Ebola, but also for the emergence of as-yet unknown diseases.

Abstract
Since functional MRI (fMRI) and the basic method of BOLD imaging were introduced in 1993 by Seiji Ogawa, fMRI has evolved into an invaluable clinical tool for routine brain imaging, and there have been substantial improvements in both the imaging technique itself and the associated statistical analysis. This book provides a state of the art overview of fMRI and its use in clinical practice. Experts in the field share their knowledge and explain how to overcome diverse potential technical barriers and problems. Starting from the very basics on the origin of the BOLD signal, the book covers technical issues, anatomical landmarks, the full range of clinical applications, methods of statistical analysis, and special issues in various clinical fields. Comparisons are made with other brain mapping techniques, such as DTI, PET, TMS, EEG, and MEG, and their combined use with fMRI is also discussed. Since the first edition, original chapters have been updated and new chapters added, covering both novel aspects of analysis and further important clinical applications.

Abstract
This book deals with a rapidly growing field of medical science: deep brain stimulation (DBS). Influencing deep brain networks by electrical stimulation through implanted electrodes is increasingly applied, and DBS has become a popular treatment for neurological and psychiatric indications. Professionals in the field of DBS are expected to understand classical subjects as disease mechanisms, brain anatomy and function, and clinical symptomatology of the diseases they treat. In addition, they are required to be familiar with specific patient management skills and treatment strategies. A third dimension is hardware and software-related knowledge. Depending on the degree of involvement, professionals need to understand basic or advanced concepts of stimulation protocols. All these aspects of DBS are discussed in this book. Authors from many different disciplines, from many different countries, have contributed their expertise and personal experience to this book. Their contributions reflect the multidisciplinary nature of DBS treatment. This book is written for a wide readership that involves many different professionals and disciplines, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, neurophysiologists, neuroanatomists, psychologists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, speech therapists, physiotherapists, engineers and other paramedical disciplines. In our society, where sharing expertise and experience, and global knowledge has become the new standard, patients want the best possible DBS therapy. One prerequisite for this is the presence of a well-integrated and dedicated multidisciplinary team, with up-to-date knowledge of the possibilities of DBS treatment.

Abstract
This book, co-authored by an internationally acclaimed team of experts in the field of pediatric oncologic imaging, provides a comprehensive update on new advances in diagnostic imaging as they relate to pediatric oncology. In contrast to other oncologic imaging texts focusing on the radiology of specific tumors, this book emphasizes the important fundamentals of imaging that every child with a new or treated malignancy receives. Guidance is provided on the selection and use of appropriate imaging techniques, with individual chapters devoted to each of the major cross-sectional imaging modalities used in the detection and follow-up of pediatric cancers, including PET-CT, PET-MRI, whole-body MRI, and diffusion-weighted MRI. Additional nuclear medicine techniques are addressed, and detailed attention is paid to more advanced areas of practice such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, pediatric interventional radiology techniques, radiation treatment planning, and radiation dose considerations (ALARA). Other areas covered include screening of children with cancer predisposition syndromes, treatment related complications, potential pitfalls during neuro-oncologic imaging, and the risks and benefits inherent in post-therapy surveillance imaging.

Abstract
This textbook is a readily accessible educational tool for all fellows undertaking subspecialty training in interventional cardiology, while also serving as a refresher to early career interventional cardiologists. The key objective is to equip the reader with an evidence-based expert-led resource focussed primarily on pre-procedural planning, peri-procedural decision-making, and the salient technical aspects of performing safe and effective coronary intervention, the intention being to support the therapeutic decision-making process in the emergency room, coronary care unit or cath lab in order to optimize patient outcome. The Interventional Cardiology Training Manual provides readers with a step-by-step guide to the basic principles underpinning coronary intervention and facilitates rapid access to best practice from the experts, presented in a pragmatic, digestible and concise format. Uniquely, each chapter has been written in a heart center-specific manner, affording the reader an opportunity to learn how individual institutions perform a specific procedure, which algorithms and guidelines they follow and what evidence they draw on to instigate the best possible care for their patients.
