Abstract
Adult ADHD: Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment, Third Edition covers not only diagnostic assessment, but also comorbidity patterns as well as differential diagnosis of ADHD with for example bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. The symptom overlap and misdiagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome in girls and women with the inattentive subtype of ADHD, ADD is explored. The chronic delayed sleep phase syndrome associated with ADHD based on disturbances in the circadian rhythm, and the possible consequences for general health (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer) are discussed. There are sections on ADHD and intelligence, criminality, sexuality, dyslexia and autism. Adult ADHD can be treated effectively but as yet the disorder is not always recognised by professionals and this book aims to help correct this. Diagnostic tools are included, such as the structured Diagnostic Interview for Adult ADHD (DIVA), and an ultra-short and somewhat longer screening tool, all based on the DSM-IV criteria for ADHD. Treatment options cover psychoeducation and motivation and individual and group coaching; long-acting stimulants and other new drugs for treating ADHD; use of melatonin to treat the delayed sleep-phase disorder. Useful information is included on the setting up and organisation of a department for adult ADHD with a multidisciplinary team. References, websites and useful international addresses have all been updated. Adult ADHD: Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment, Third Edition is intended for students, junior doctors/residents, psychologists, psychiatrists, other mental healthcare professionals and interested parties and provides a quick overview of the current state of the science and of the methods used in diagnosis and treatment. Adult ADHD: Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment, Third Edition was originally published by Pearson Assessment and Information BV, The Netherlands.

Abstract
This book elucidates the radiation therapy protocols and procedures for the management of adult patients presenting with primary benign and malignant central nervous system tumors. With the development of new treatment strategies and rapid advancement of radiation technology, it is crucial for radiation oncologists to maintain and refine their knowledge and skills. Dedicated exclusively to adult CNS radiation oncology, this textbook explores CNS tumors ranging from the common to the esoteric as well as secondary cancers of metastatic origin. The first half of the book is organized anatomically: tumors of the brain, spinal cord, leptomeninges, optic pathway, ocular choroid, and skull base. The second half covers primary CNS lymphoma, rare CNS tumors, metastatic brain disease, vascular conditions of the CNS, radiation-associated complications, and radiation modalities. Each chapter provides guidance on treatment field design, target delineation, and normal critical structure tolerance constraints in the context of the disease being treated. Learning objectives, case studies, and Maintenance of Certification Self-Assessment Continuing Medical Education-style questions and answers are incorporated throughout the book. This is an ideal guide for radiation oncologists, residents, and fellows, but medical students may also find value in the text.

Abstract
This book describes the most popular topics concerning adult congenital heart disease (ACHD), especially focusing on indications and re-intervention procedures for some major ACHDs. Thanks to advances in medical and surgical therapy for congenital heart disease over the last half century, many patients who underwent surgical correction reached adulthood. However, as can be seen from the explosive increase in the number of ACHD patients, postoperative residua and sequelae have also become apparent. The purpose of this book is to highlight complicated problems in connection with ACHD, including its present status, as well as methods for its management including medical and surgical treatment. The content primarily focuses on two areas--general information for cardiologists, and information on re-intervention for interventionists and cardiac surgeons--setting it apart from the majority of books on congenital heart disease.

Abstract
This book provides essential information on the epidemiology, molecular and genetic features, anti-CCR4 antibody therapy and a nationwide study of transplantation on human T-leukemia virus type-I (HTLV-1) and adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL). This rare but important disease has restricted endemic areas and distinct clinical features such as a high frequency of hypercalcemia, strong predisposition to infection and poor response to chemotherapy, aspects which set ATL apart from other types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Given the small number of patients, enrollment in clinical trials has not been feasible, and establishing treatment standard has been difficult but new evidence, such as results of nationwide studies on transplantation, have shown new insights and potential treatments. Based on recent evidence, the book presents new treatment methods for ATL and infection prevention of HTLV-1, enabling clinicians, researchers and post-docs specializing in hematology and virology to gain a valuable overview of the disease.
Contents
1. Overview -- 2. Human T-Cell Leukemia Virus Type 1 (HTLV-1) -- 3. Epidemiology -- 4. Pathology -- 5. Immunophenotype -- 6. Leukemogenesis and Molecular Characteristics of Tumor Cells -- 7. Abstract
After introductory chapters devoted to the safe production and distribution of vaccines, the book addresses the question of adult vaccination in the framework of a life-course approach to vaccination. It presents the proceedings of multidisciplinary expert discussions with an excellent summary of the current state of knowledge on adult vaccination in various diseases, as well as an overview of the professionals involved and the obstacles to achieving greater vaccine uptake, and how these may be addressed. The book systematically discusses the major vaccine-preventable diseases, as well as regulatory issues in vaccine provision, and presents the results of an expert meeting designed to identify the obstacles to vaccination, and solutions for addressing these barriers. It goes on to extend the discussion beyond the traditional boundaries of human health to encompass the “one health” concept. The book is intended for all those with an interest in vaccination, including physicians (from a wide range of disciplines including geriatrics/gerontology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, internal medicine, and other non-organ specialties), other healthcare professionals, pharmacists, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory bodies (EMEA, national authorities), policymakers, the media and the general public.

Autism Spectrum Disorder
Abstract
In this book a group of international experts guide the reader through the clinical features of adults with autism spectrum disorders, describe the care needs of patients and their families, explain the evolution of the disorders into old age, and highlight what can be done to help. Detailed attention is paid to the medical and psychiatric problems of adults with these disorders and the approach to their education and professional integration. In addition, expert neuroscientists summarize current views on the neurobiology of autism. Autism spectrum disorders are devastating neurodevelopmental disorders. Although diagnosis and therapeutic interventions usually take place in infancy, they are chronic lifelong conditions. Surprisingly, the literature on autism spectrum disorders in adults is scarce. Moreover, most mental health professionals working with adults have little training in autism, and adult mental health services around the world are rarely prepared to address the needs of these patients, which tend to increase with age. This book therefore fills a crucial gap in the literature and will prove useful for all who care for and deal with adults in the Autistic Spectrum.
Contents
Autistic Spectrum Disorders: Developmental History of a Concept -- The Neurobiology of Autistic Spectrum Disorders -- The Clinical Neuropsychology of ASD -- Outcomes for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability -- The High-functioning Group: High-functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome in Adults -- Ageing with Autistic Spectrum Disorder -- Autism in Girls and Women -- Psychiatric and Neurological Problems in Adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders -- Adult Outcomes and Supported Employment Strategies: a Formidable Challenge -- The Institutional and Community Care for Adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders -- Sense and Sensibility: Forensic Issues with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Abstract
Like other international jurisdictions, the Canadian health sector faces significant demands for change and improvement to meet the needs of the 21st Century. To achieve that goal, highly sophisticated and capable leaders are required across all dimensions of the health system. Bringing Leadership to Life in Health: LEADS in a Caring Environment examines the essence of leadership itself and what it means to be a leader in today's world. The authors describe key challenges that demand reform in the health sector, examine why better leadership is the source code for better system performance, and look at the issues that stand in the way of getting that leadership. This book describes the five domains of the Caring Environment capabilities framework: Lead Self, Engage Others, Achieve Results, Develop Coalitions, and Systems Transformation. Bringing Leadership to Life in Health: LEADS in a Caring Environment is a simple, easily accessible, and research informed book which will explain the LEADS in a Caring Environment capabilities framework that has been adopted across Canada as the foundation for health leadership talent management. This book will illustrate this framework through supportive research, relevant stories solicited from health leaders at all levels as well as the inclusion of "learning moments" to help the readers reflect on their own experiences.
