Abstract
Now, based on the apoB algorithm, that is outlined and illustrated in this book, family physicians as well as cardiologists, endocrinologists and internists will be able to easily and accurately identify and treat these disorders. The apoB dyslipoproteinemias are major common causes of vascular disease. But until now, accurate diagnosis has not been possible. With just total cholesterol, triglycerides and apoB, all the apoB dyslipoproteinemias, with the exception of elevated Lp(a), can be identified using the apoB algorithm. The apoB app, which incorporates this algorithm, is available from both Apple and Android and is free.

Abstract
This book takes the major pathologies commonly studied in general surgery and presents them in a unique format based upon algorithms. The algorithms begin with the clinical presentation of the patient and work their way through the various diagnostic modalities available to the surgeon. This allows the physician to make a decision regarding treatment options based upon various patterns in the algorithms. This text serves as a very useful resource for surgeons as it allows complex clinical pathways to be conveniently organized in logical algorithms while providing a concise yet comprehensive manual to assist in clinical decision making. The algorithms were created by recognized experts in their field and include the most up-to-date clinical and evidence-based information. Clinical Algorithms in General Surgery: A Practical Guide provides a useful resource for surgeons in clinical practice, as well as surgical residents in training and those who are preparing for board examinations or recertification.

Abstract
This second edition is an all-inclusive textbook with a unique algorithm-based approach to the evaluation and management of colorectal surgery disease. It examines the thought processes, technical tricks, and decision-making strategies for specific clinical situations. The book aims to utilise the experience its contributors have gained caring for patients with a wide range of colorectal diseases. The technical challenges of managing complex patients and the technical details that make these situations challenging are covered, and evidence and experience-based solutions are offered for surgeons of all levels. This book focuses on providing pragmatic advice and reproducible techniques that can be readily implemented by surgeons of varying experience to successfully treat complex colorectal problems through an algorithmic approach.

Abstract
This book offers concise descriptions of cross-sectional imaging studies of the abdomen and pelvis, supplemented with over 1100 high-quality images and discussion of state-of-the-art techniques. It is based on the most common clinical cases encountered in daily practice and uses an algorithmic approach to help radiologists arrive first at a working differential diagnosis and then reach an accurate diagnosis based on imaging features, which incorporate clinical, laboratory, and other underlying contexts. The book is organized by anatomical organ of origin and each chapter provides a brief anatomical background of the organ under review; explores various cross-sectional imaging techniques and common pathologies; and presents practical algorithms based on frequently encountered imaging features. Special emphasis is placed on the role of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In addition to algorithmic coverage of many pathological entities in various abdominopelvic organs, unique topics are also examined, such as imaging of organ transplant (including kidney, liver and pancreas), evaluation of perianal fistula, and assessment of rectal carcinoma and prostate carcinoma by MRI. Cross-Sectional Imaging of the Abdomen and Pelvis: A Practical Algorithmic Approach is a unique and practical resource for radiologists, fellows, and residents.

Abstract
This book adopts a novel approach: procedures. Instead of discussing the diagnostic categories of neurological syndromes, it focuses on the symptoms of common neurological presentations (especially in the emergency room or on the ward), and the diagnostic hypotheses that can be validated or rejected case by case as a result. Each chapter covers one of the main symptoms of emergencies in neurology – from transient consciousness disturbances to focal deficits, acute muscular disorders, respiratory insufficiency in neurological disorders, headaches, delirium, seizures and epileptic status, para-and tetraplegia, and head trauma, to acute functional disorders – and includes tables and figures to allow readers to gain a quick and easy, yet comprehensive overview of the topic. The book guides readers through various scenarios generated by the onset of symptoms, the clinical tools for differential diagnostics, and the principles of acute and post-acute phase therapy, managed by decision algorithms supported by the most recent scientific evidence. The resulting precedural profile – created through the collaboration of over 80 specialists in neurology or other disciplines – makes this text a valuable tool for neurologists, neurology residents and allied professionals in their daily clinical practice, as well as medical students.

This book elucidates the process of reading electrocardiograms (ECGs) in children. It focuses on the presentation of congenital and acquired heart diseases as interpreted through the ECG and is supported by an extensive illustration program derived from electronically stored ECGs. The book also features lists and algorithms that can be applied when noticing any pathology within the ECG, thereby allowing these findings to be traced to potential differential diagnoses. Topics include the normal electrocardiogram; cellular electrophysiology; cardiac conduction; heart rate and rhythm disturbances; atrioventricular conduction abnormalities; and cardiac ischemia, injury, and infarction. Pediatric Electrocardiography: An Algorithmic Approach to Interpretation is a valuable resource for pediatricians, family medicine physicians, cardiologists, residents, and medical students.
