Abstract
The literature on the late effects of cancer treatment is widely scattered in different journals since all major organ systems are affected and management is based on a variety of medical and surgical treatments. The aim of ALERT Adverse Late Effects of Cancer Treatment is to offer a coherent multidisciplinary approach to the care of cancer survivors. The central paradigm is that cytotoxic multimodal therapy results in a perpetual cascade of events that affects each major organ system differently and is expressed continually over time. Essentially, radiation and chemotherapy are intense biologic modifiers that allow for cancer cure and cancer survivorship but accelerate senescence of normal tissues and increase the incidence of age-related diseases and second malignant tumors. Volume 1 of this two-volume work focuses on the general concepts and principles relevant to late effects and on the dynamic interplay of molecular, cytologic and histopathologic events that lead to altered physiologic and metabolic functions and their clinical manifestations. Chapters are also included on legal issues, economic aspects, nursing, psychological issues and quality of life.

Volume 2 of this two-volume work comprehensively documents potential late effects in all the normal tissue anatomic sites in the human body. The detection, diagnosis, management and prevention of effects are all considered in detail, and prognostic outcomes are discussed. Radiation risk factors and interactions with chemotherapy effects are clearly presented. The text is accompanied by numerous supportive illustrations and tables.

Abstract
The atlas provides a clear, concise, yet comprehensive review of common cardiovascular diseases occurring in patients with cancer. Cancer and cardiovascular disease are the two most common conditions worldwide. In clinical practice we frequently encounter patients who have established cardiovascular disease and subsequently develop cancer or are survivors of cancer with subsequent cardiovascular complications related to chemotherapy and or radiation. Most of the chapters are case based, followed by images and a discussion on current (evidence based, wherever available) investigations and treatment outline.

Abstract
Depending on their mechanism of action, the cytotoxic and targeted drugs and radiotherapy employed in oncologic treatment may cause complications and toxicities in many organ systems, with variable radiologic presentations. This comprehensive and excellently illustrated book covers the basics of therapy-induced complications and toxicities in oncologic patients, identifies their consequences for all the major organs, and describes the imaging of these impacts by means of the various radiologic modalities. By familiarizing radiologists with the most frequent and prominent toxicities that are recognizable on radiologic imaging following tumor therapy, it will facilitate identification of their early manifestations and permit differential diagnosis based on relevant findings.

Abstract
This comprehensive guide describes the aftercare that is appropriate in young cancer patients and discusses in detail the risk and detection of treatment sequelae. It explains the impacts on body and mind of both the disease itself and the different risk-adapted cancer treatments currently in use. Clear guidance is provided on diagnosis and management of the principal treatment-related toxicities in different organs and organ systems and for a wide variety of tumor types. In addition, the role of genetic polymorphisms in the development of adverse therapy-related outcomes is explored, and advice offered on genetic counselling. As the number of long-term survivors of childhood cancer and of cancer in young adults continues to grow, so issues surrounding potential sequelae, second malignancies, and quality of life are becoming ever more important. All practitioners involved in the care of young cancer patients will find this book to be a helpful source of up-to-date information and assistance.

Abstract
This concise and handy manual provides straightforward, up-to-date guidance for cardiologists and other practitioners on the management of cancer patients with cardiac problems, whether they be due to the cancer itself or to antineoplastic treatment. Detailed attention is devoted to the various forms of cardiotoxicity associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The drugs commonly responsible for each toxicity are identified and clear advice is offered on monitoring techniques and treatment approaches. In addition, the issue of cardiotoxicity due to cancer treatment in particular patient groups--children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing cardiac disease--is addressed separately, with guidance on when and how antineoplastic (and/or cardiological) treatments should be modified. Further sections describe the correct responses to cardiac problems secondary to the cancer itself, including thromboembolic disorders and electrolyte imbalances, and the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of cardiac tumors. A closing section considers how to improve cooperation between oncologists, cardiologists, and general practitioners to ensure that cancer patients' cardiovascular needs are met in a multidisciplinary approach.

Abstract
While the benefits of modern cancer treatments are becoming ever more evident, many cancer patients continue to be at risk for developing physiological and psychological treatment effects that may lead to premature morbidity and death. Nutrition is one important aspect that needs to be considered throughout the clinical spectrum of patient care and management. Malnutrition and its related symptoms are both frequent and deleterious consequences of treatment in cancer patients. Targeted nutritional interventions offer a new avenue for the prevention or management of malnutrition, cognitive impairment, obesity, osteoporosis, and other symptoms of critical significance. Despite the importance of nutrition in ameliorating the symptoms of cancer treatment, publications providing up-to-date information on novel nutritional approaches and strategies are lacking. This book is intended to fill the void by describing in detail the nutritional strategies that may be employed to alleviate a wide variety of cancer treatment effects. The guidance provided will help to improve the survival and quality of life of cancer patients, and has the potential to dramatically affect how evidence-based clinical practice is established and improved over the coming decade. The author is a distinguished expert in the field who has more than 25 years of experience in oncology nutrition and has been involved in establishing and implementing a Clinical Nutrition Oncology Program
