Abstract
This text provides a comprehensive, state-of-the art definitive "case-based" reference for the work-up, diagnosis, intraoperative management, and peri-operative care of patients with complex, difficult to manage HPB diseases. The book provides a practical, clinically useful guide that reviews select complicated HPB cases, as well as providing key information on how to manage such patients. This text provides detailed "case-based" algorithms, as well as specific guidance on the management of complicated HPB patients. In addition, it also focuses on key points on how to work-up patients pre-operatively, highlights intra-operative technical "pearls", and defines optimal post-operative care. Chapters are rich with images, have multiple "call out" boxes to highlight key lessons learned and also include clinical management "pearls." All chapters are written by experts in their field and include the most up-to-date clinical information from national and world leaders in their respective discipline. Case-Based Lessons in the Management of Complex Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery will serve as a very useful resource for physicians, fellows and residents dealing with complex HPB patients. In addition, It will provide a concise yet comprehensive summary of the diagnosis, work-up, and management of some of the most complex, yet common, HPB cases.

Abstract
This volume addresses the current lack of knowledge of many general surgeons and trainees in the comprehensive management of patients with choledocholithiasis, with an emphasis on how the surgeon can provide single-stage management for the majority of patients. It begins with a historical perspective on surgical techniques for laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) and reviews the knowledge and experience gained during the "open" era. Subsequent chapters cover preoperative evaluation, decision-making, and operative management, including intraoperative cholangiography, intraoperative ultrasound, laparoscopic and open common bile duct exploration, laparoscopic placement of biliary stents and other adjuncts, and laparoscopic bilio-enteric bypass. The volume also provides the reader with material on the full spectrum of options including chapters on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and percutaneous approaches to the biliary tree. The chapters on individual procedures emphasize the technical aspects of the procedures, and include rich visual resources to guide the reader (illustrations, photographs, and videos to demonstrate typical cases and also challenging cases), as well as their outcomes and complication management. Finally, there is a discussion of how to identify and overcome logistical and institutional barriers to the adoption of LCBDE, and how simulation may be used to help teach the procedure. Choledocholithiasis: Comprehensive Surgical Management will be of great value and utility to General Surgeons, Hepatobiliary Surgeons, Surgical Residents and Fellows, Endoscopists, and Interventional Radiologists.

Abstract
This book presents all the current evidence in assessing and making decisions for patients. The multi-disciplinary team of authors pool their knowledge to bring the most up-to-date information regarding the underlying diseases, diagnostics and non operative therapies found in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. The chapters reflect the constant efforts made by the authors to evaluate the current evidence, make the correct decisions and provide the best clinical care for their patients. Difficult Decisions in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery: An Evidence-Based Approach reflects the challenging decisions faced by busy, thoughtful surgeons specializing in these fields of surgery. It is a timely resource for practicing surgeons, surgeons in training as well as educators that describes the recommended ideal approach, rather than customary care, in selected clinical situations.

Abstract
Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery meets the needs of surgeons in higher training and practising consultants for a contemporary and evidence-based account of this sub-specialty that is relevant to their general surgical practice. It is a practical reference source incorporating the most current information on recent developments, management issues and operative procedures. The text is thoroughly referenced and supported by evidence-based recommendations wherever possible, distinguishing between strong evidence to support a conclusion, and evidence suggesting that a recommendation can be reached on the balance of probabilities. For this 6th edition the authorship team across the series has been expanded to include additional European and World experts, with an increased emphasis on global practice.

Abstract
This volume covers the pathophysiology, epidemiology, presentation, diagnosis, medical and surgical management of benign biliary stenosis. The book is uniquely structured in a way that allows areas of controversy to be highlighted through the use of a two chapter format for each topic. Each chapter topic is written by an expert in the field, with a second expert highlighting controversies and offering opposing viewpoints and treatment paradigms through a counterpoint chapter immediately following the primary chapter. The volume also features an array of diagrams and illustrations. As an authoritative text on the clinical care of patients with benign biliary stenosis, Management of Benign Biliary Stenosis and Injury: A Comprehensive Guide is a valuable resource for all practitioners involved in the care of these patients, including gastroenterologists, gastrointestinal surgeons, surgical oncologists, and transplant physicians.

Abstract
This volume is a single resource highlighting multidisciplinary options available to clinicians for the management of common bile duct stones. The text highlights management, diagnosis, treatment options, and complications from the perspective of surgeons, gastroenterologists, and interventional radiologists, providing a truly multidisciplinary approach to treatment of these patients. By providing the scope of the problem to clinicians, the text increases awareness such that testing or referral to the most appropriate specialist (whether it be a gastroenterologist, surgeon or radiologist) can be initiated. Providing surgeons, gastroenterologists and radiologists alike access to the most current treatment paradigms in their field, Multidisciplinary Management of Common Bile Duct Stones empowers healthcare providers with interdisciplinary knowledge and options available to patients in management of their common bile duct stones.

Abstract
This book provides the standard for the current state of biliary surgery in the 21st century and aims to help the surgeon progress from the competent, to the proficient, and finally to the mastery level. This guidebook also gives insight into modern evaluation and management. The highlights emphasize what is both feasible and safe from a minimally invasive approach in biliary surgery. The concept of safe cholecystectomy is defined and expounded on in detail. The difficult cholecystectomy is given ample coverage to include management of intraoperative bile duct injury, indications and techniques of subtotal cholecystectomy, and special attention to intraoperative diagnostic imaging that serve as adjuncts, including cholangiograpy, ultrasound, as well as indocyanine green biliary fluorescence. Furthermore, the evolution of treatment of choledocohlithiasis has evolved the most in recent years, and thus requires an extensive discussion of the non-operative and operative management of bile duct stones. The SAGES Manual of Biliary Surgery serves as an important contribution to the medical literature sponsored by SAGES, an international leading authority in gastrointestinal surgery with a keen interest in safe and proficient biliary surgery. Leaders in the field of biliary surgery impart their insight and considerable experience in the chapters planned for this manual. The intent for this manual is to be the cited resource for high quality and applicable knowledge for the treatment of benign biliary disease.
