Abstract
The Atlas of Genitourinary Oncological Imaging presents a comprehensive visual review of appearances for normal anatomy and oncological diseases in the genitourinary system using over 900 radiological images and illustrations. The book presents current imaging techniques and discusses the role of imaging in pre-treatment staging and post-treatment follow-up. Diseases discussed include kidney, adrenal gland, upper tract, bladder, prostate, testes, and pediatric malignancies. Individual chapters include normal anatomy, imaging techniques, and pathology of each cancer type. The staging of the malignancy and what to include in the radiology report are discussed, and expected and complicated postoperative and post-treatment findings and recurrence are presented. Dedicated chapters on interventional and radiation therapy discuss their unique role in the management and treatment of oncology of the genitourinary system. Additionally, a chapter on chemotherapy toxicities discusses drug reaction treatment therapies unique to the genitourinary system. Edited and written by radiologists from the genitourinary disease management team at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Atlas of Genitourinary Oncological Imaging is an ideal resource for radiology and urology trainees seeking a review of the basics and for practicing radiologists looking for answers to challenging cases confronted in daily practice.

Abstract
Lymphoscintigraphy is now widely applied for radioguided biopsy of the sentinel lymph node in patients with solid cancers and is considered crucial for adequate planning of oncologic surgery in a growing number of cancers. This atlas presents a collection of richly illustrated teaching cases that demonstrate the clinical relevance and impact of lymphoscintigraphy in different pathologic conditions. The principal focus is on the use of lymphoscintigraphic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in cutaneous melanoma and cancers at a range of anatomic sites. The most commonly observed lymphoscintigraphic patterns are depicted, and anatomic variants and technical pitfalls of the procedure receive careful attention. The role of tomographic multimodality imaging is also considered. This atlas will be an excellent learning tool for residents in nuclear medicine and other specialists with an interest in the field.
Contents
Anatomy and physiology of lymphatic circulation -- Pathophysiology of lymphatic circulation in different disease conditions -- Methodological aspects of lymphoscintigraphy: radiopharmaceuticals and instrumentation -- Lymphoscintigraphy for the differential diagnosis of peripheral edemas -- Lymphoscintigraphy for the characterization of intracavitary lymph effusions -- The sentinel lymph node concept in oncologic surgery -- General concepts on radioguided sentinel lymph node biopsy: preoperative imaging, intraoperative gamma-probe guidance, intraoperative imaging, multimodality imaging -- SPECT/CT image generation and criteria of interpretation for sentinel lymph node mapping -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in breast cancer -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in cutaneous melanoma -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in head and neck cancers -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in non-small-cell lung cancer -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in cancers of the gastrointestinal tract -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in cancers of the female reproductive system -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in cancers of the male reproductive system -- Preoperative and intraoperative lymphatic mapping for radioguided sentinel node biopsy in kidney and bladder cancers.

Abstract
As the population ages, clinicians are facing an increasing number of elderly patients with colorectal cancer. Disease management in these patients poses a unique challenge as they have more comorbidities and lower functional reserves. In addition, the treatment goals may differ from those in younger patients. Appropriate management of elderly patients demands a greater understanding of not only the physiological changes but also issues related to the delivery of holistic care. This book discusses in depth the different aspects of management of colorectal cancer in the elderly. After the provision of pertinent background information on the normal physiology of aging, screening and diagnosis are discussed. Subsequent chapters focus on a range of issues associated with the surgical and perioperative care of these patients and with adjuvant treatment and palliative care. Each chapter provides helpful take-home messages in bullet point form, and numerous informative figures and tables are also included. The authors are surgeons, physicians, anesthetists, geriatricians, oncologists, and allied health professionals with extensive experience in the field. Abstract
Desmoid Tumors (DT), also called Aggressive Fibromatoses, are a rare fibroblastic proliferative disease, with an incidence of 2 to 4 new cases per million people per year. Despite the absence of a metastatic potential, DT cause significant morbidity and at times mortality due to its locally invasive behaviour. The anatomical locations can be abdominal, extra-abdominal (often in the extremities) and intra-abdominal. This book is the first manuscript dedicated entirely to Desmoid Tumors. Written by prominent clinicians, researchers and advocacy group experts, patients and professionals alike will find this to be a comprehensive review. Clinical presentation, imaging guidelines and treatment paradigms are highlighted. Both the sporadic and heredity forms (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis) will be discussed. A thorough discussion on the unique issues in children with DT is included. A portion of the book will address the role of the APC gene, the ø-catenin protein and the role of mutations in the genesis of DT. Emerging cutting edge research techniques will be revealed. Also included is a thoughtful discussion on the controversial labelling of Desmoid Tumors as benign and the consequences of such a designation. The role of advocacy groups in supporting research and in promoting awareness of rare diseases such as DT will be outlined. This book will serve as basis to prepare clinicians, researchers and patients to embark on the quest for a cure for Desmoid Tumors.
Contents
1. Introduction -- Part I. The identification and treatment of Desmoid Tumors -- 2. Clinical presentation of Desmoid Tumors -- 3. Pathology of Desmoid Tumors -- 4. Abstract
Assessment of surgical innovation is a complex task. This is especially true in esophageal surgery owing to difficulties in interpreting pathophysiology, staging malignant tumors with accuracy, standardizing and tailoring the available surgical procedures to the individual patient. Furthermore, adoption of innovative procedures in this field is usually confined to high-volume centers of excellence. This book introduces the general and the thoracic surgeon to the latest developments in esophageal surgery. In each chapter, a concise background analysis of the topic in question and a state of the art review is presented. The indications for surgery and the rationale for adopting innovative techniques or technologies are discussed in detail. Challenging questions and comments by selected panelists complement each chapter, enhancing the quality of information. Innovation in Esophageal Surgery will be highly informative for both the novice and the expert surgeon wishing to enter the arena of esophageal surgery.
