Abstract
Adolescent Identity Treatment: An Integrative Approach for Personality Pathology is a groundbreaking title that provides general and specific clinical strategies to help adolescents who lack an integrated identity. The authors have developed a treatment based on the integration of object relations theory, family systems, attachment, developmental neurobiology and cognitive behavioral approaches that focuses on clearing blockages to normal identity development and adaptive functioning. While most adolescents build satisfying interpersonal relationships, are successful in school and work, and begin romantic relationships, there is a minority of adolescents who do not succeed in this and are at a high risk of developing problems in school, work, and relationships, problems with affect regulation as well as engaging in a wide range of self-destructive behaviors. In addition to a description of the disorder and assessment, this manual offers extensive clinical examples and concrete interventions, with phase-specific treatment components, including a clear treatment frame, psychoeducation, environmental interventions (with a "Home Plan" that addresses self-care behaviors, responsibilities and improved boundaries that fosters the development of better relationships between the adolescent and family), and parenting strategies, all in the service of creating a space for the individual work with the adolescent.

Abstract
Growing recognition of the role of behavioral health in overall health, the rise of health psychology, the trend toward interdisciplinary medicine--any number of factors have made clinical psychology an integral part of integrative care. Its applicability to the range of specialties, populations, and levels of care adds to its increasing necessity in diverse healthcare settings. The Handbook of Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings emphasizes evidence-based care and practical strategies for hands-on work with patients while illuminating the unique aspects of the practice of psychology within medical settings. Skills are examined in depth for more effective work with patients, more efficient teamwork with colleagues, and better functioning within medical settings, whether readers are involved in primary, secondary, or tertiary care or prevention. Chapters also focus on ethical, legal, and financial issues, as well as changes needed in training programs to ensure that the field keeps up with the evolution of care systems and service delivery. Included in the Handbook 's forward-looking coverage: Psychology and population health. Core competencies for success in medical settings. Evidence-based practice--and practice-based evidence. Marketing health psychology, both within and outside the medical setting. Competency for diverse populations. Plus chapters devoted to specific specialties and settings, from cardiology to women's health.

Abstract
The psychiatric profession must ensure that its next generation of leaders has the appropriate skills to provide mental health services in the face of globalization and urbanization, new technologies, and competing demands for shrinking resources. Developing leadership skills and leaders is critical in order to optimise the use of resources, their application, service planning and delivery of services for patients and their families. This is the first book on leadership (rather than management skills) to focus on psychiatry and mental health care. Contributions from international experts with clinical and non-clinical backgrounds pull together the theories and practical skills required to be a successful leader. The aim is to guide mental health professionals in general and psychiatrists in particular on how to gain the relevant skills and on how to utilise these skills and training to take on leadership roles in clinical and organisational settings.

Abstract
Despite the importance of regaining social roles during recovery from mental illness, the intersection between motherhood and serious mental illness is often overlooked. This book aims to rectify that neglect. A series of introductory chapters describing current research and services available to mothers with serious mental illness are followed by personal accounts of clients reflecting on their parenting experiences. One goal of the book is to provide clinicians with information on this seldom addressed topic, which they can then use to help patients who are struggling with questions and barriers in their attempts to parent. The inclusion of personal accounts of mothers on issues such as stigma, fears, and discrimination in the context of parenting with a mental illness is intended to promote the message of mental illness recovery to a larger audience as well. Finally, it is hoped that this handbook will help inspire more research on mothers with mental illness and the creation of more services tailored to their needs.

Abstract
This book examines the role of psychopharmacological treatment in a range of disorders that may be encountered during pregnancy, including major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and substance abuse. The natural history of each condition pre- and post-partum is analyzed, and the evidence for the efficacy of drug treatments, evaluated. Special attention is paid to the potential dangers of different treatment options for both mother and fetus, covering risks of malformation, pregnancy and obstetric risks, neonatal risks, and possible long-term consequences. The risks of not treating a particular condition are also analyzed. On the basis of the available evidence, management guidelines are provided that additionally take into account non-pharmacological options. Closing chapters consider the value of complementary and alternative medicine and ECT and explore future research directions.
