Abstract
Digestive Endoscopic Resection provides a minimally invasive method of diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal cancer. This book contains a comprehensive and detailed introduction to this technique. It includes preoperative preparation, surgical methods, intraoperative complications and postoperative management of advanced endoscopic procedures. It mainly focuses on endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and endoscopic submucosal tunneling technologies, such as peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection (STER). This book presents essential surgical steps and diagnostic illustrations of these fast developing techniques. It provides a theoretical basis and valuable technical guidance for experts to perform ESD, and summarizes this new treatment of gastrointestinal disease not only early cancers but also other gastrointestinal disorders including esophageal achalasia, etc. The Atlas of Digestive Endoscopic Resection will serve as an ideal reference for physicians and surgeons involved in endoscopic minimally invasive surgery. Editors Pinghong Zhou, Liqing Yao and Xinyu Qin are professors at Zhongshan Hospital, affiliated to Fudan University, Shanghai, China.

Abstract
Owing to the alterations in visceral anatomy, many endoscopists, and especially trainees, experience difficulties when performing endoscopic surveys or procedures in patients who have previously undergone surgery to the digestive tract. In this richly illustrated book, an expert in the field provides a detailed overview of endoscopic follow-up of gastrointestinal (esophageal, gastric, and colorectal) anastomosis. Both normal appearances and pathological conditions involving complications are fully covered. The methodology, timing, protocols, and role of diagnostic endoscopy are first discussed. Endoscopic treatments for the resolution of different clinical problems related to recurrences, stenoses, dehiscences, and fistulas are then evaluated step by step with the aid of high-quality images.

Abstract
This book is exceptional in describing not only the standard surgical procedures, open and laparoscopic, for various gastrointestinal indications, but also the technical variations that may be employed in response to difficult intraoperative situations. For each surgical procedure, leading experts provide step-by-step, illustrated descriptions of their standard techniques and preferred modifications when confronted by challenging circumstances associated with an increased risk of intra- or postoperative complications. All of the described variations are designed to meet the original surgical goals and achieve satisfactory outcomes. Topics addressed include upside-down stomach, antireflux surgery, gastric gastrointestinal tumors, gastric cancer, gallbladder and bile duct disease, inflammatory bowel disease, right and left hemicolectomy, sigmoid diverticulitis, rectal cancer, and rectal prolapse. The provision of several points of view for each surgical indication ensures that approaches from the conservative to the more radical are conveyed. It is clearly explained in which situations use of the described technical variations may be indicated, and practical tips are provided on the avoidance of complications. In addition, important medicolegal issues are discussed and guidance is offered on risk assessment and decision analysis within the surgical setting. This book will be an invaluable aid to decision making and practice for every gastrointestinal surgeon.
Contents
The basics -- Individual surgery for upside down stomach and antireflux surgery -- Individual surgery for gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors -- Individual surgery for gastric cancer -- Individual surgery for benign gallbladder and bile ducts diseases -- Individual surgery for inflammatory bowel disease -- Individual surgery for right hemicolectomy -- Individual surgery for left hemicolectomy -- Individual surgery for sigmoid diverticulitis -- Individual surgery for rectal cancer -- Individual surgery for rectal prolapse.

Abstract
This volume presents a comprehensive, up-to-date and practical approach to creating an Enhanced Recovery Program for GI surgery. The first sections review the evidence underlying individual elements of Enhanced Recovery Programs, including evidence from laparoscopic procedures when available and pointing to evidence gaps where more research is required. These are written by experts in the field, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and physiotherapists. The format is in the style of a narrative review, summarizing the evidence and concluding with key "take home messages" and references. Management of common complications and issues related to patient selection are also addressed. Subsequent chapters address practical concerns, including creation of a pathway team, project management and engaging administration. Experts contribute real-world examples of their pathways for a variety of procedures, including colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, upper GI and hepatobiliary surgery, enabling the user to have a starting point for creating their own programs. The SAGES / ERAS’ Society Manual of Enhanced Recovery Programs for Gastrointestinal Surgery will be of great value to fully trained surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and administrators interested in initiating an Enhanced Recovery Program.

Abstract
This book lays the foundation in understanding the foregut through review of the anatomy and physiology, followed by subsequent chapters focusing on the diagnosis and management of specific benign diseases of the foregut, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and diaphragmatic hernia, Barrett’s esophagus, disorders of esophageal dysmotility, benign esophageal and gastric tumors, peptic ulcer disease and gastric outlet obstruction, and gastroparesis. Written by experts in the field, each of these sections addresses the evaluation and management of the disease process, technical conduct of the most common endoscopic and surgical procedures, postoperative management including complications, and revisional operations. Additionally, expert commentary will serve to highlight and clarify controversies in the field. Abstract
Self-expandable stents were initially placed for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases but now play an integral role in the relief of benign and malignant obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary system. Self-Expandable Stents in the Gastrointestinal Tract will familiarize the reader with the indications, techniques, and outcome following placement of expandable metal stents within the gastrointestinal tract. The volume covers all aspects of expandable stents including their composition, tissue responses, and placement techniques. In addition, placement using endoscopic and radiologic techniques is discussed. Unique illustrations allow the reader to gain knowledge that will improve their ability to care for their patients. The volume will serve as a comprehensive reference for all aspects of expandable stents. Self-Expandable Stents in the Gastrointestinal Tract will be extremely useful for physicians in the field of gastroenterology, endoscopy, and radiology, as well as gastrointestinal and thoracic surgeons whether they are in training or practice.

Abstract
The second edition of this atlas has been extensively revised to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy for upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases. The coverage ranges from basic but highly effective procedures like cold snare polypectomy and variceal ligation to sophisticated procedures such as peroral endoscopic myotomy and endoscopic submucosal dissection. New instruments, for example over-the-scope clips and various stents, are introduced in the relevant chapters. Furthermore, several chapters have been added to cover cutting-edge technologies for endoscopic treatment of complex conditions, including refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease and duodenal neoplasia. Many pictures have been exchanged for newer ones, most of them high-definition endoscopy photos, and schematic illustrations are used to ensure clear understanding of complex therapeutic procedures. As in the first edition, special tips of practical value are highlighted and potential pitfalls are identified, but in addition instructive cases have been added at the end of chapters. The second edition of Therapeutic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy will be an essential resource for all therapeutic endoscopists.
