Abstract
Surgery for head neck cancer has evolved greatly in the recent years. Appropriate surgical resection with negative margins still remain corner-stone in achieving good oncological outcome. This atlas proposes a new concept of "The Compartment Surgery" to achieve negative margins in third dimensions which is the problem area in majority of cases. Reconstructive techniques have evolved vastly in the recent years with use of microvascular free flaps and this has significantly improved the functional outcome. Performing each step in appropriate manner cumulatively enables us to perform more complex procedures. Theme of this atlas revolves around this fact. This atlas on head and neck cancers takes a fresh stylistic approach where each surgical procedure is described in a step-wise manner through labeled high-resolution images with minimal incorporation of text. This allows the surgeons to rapidly revise the operative steps of a procedure within minutes just before they start a surgery. Head and neck has multidimensional anatomy and surgical treatment requires specific approach for each subsite. This operative atlas covers the entire spectrum of common, uncommon and rare cancers of the head and neck area. Each subsite is addressed in a separate chapter with further subdivisions for surgery of tumors with varying extent. Each procedure is demonstrated with photographs of each surgical step and line diagrams. Commonly used flaps (regional and free flaps) are demonstrated in separate chapter for reconstruction. With over 1000 images, and coverage of both the ablative and reconstructive surgical procedures, this is a technique-focused atlas in comparison to the available comprehensive texts. There are two chapters on very advanced cancers, and surgery in resource constrained surgical units making the book relevant to a wide range of cancer surgeons and fellows-in-training in varied clinical settings.
Contents

Abstract
This book is a quick reference guide to the radiology of head & neck tumors for busy clinicians. With the wide range of imaging modalities currently available and frequent upgrades in technology and image resolution, selecting the best modality for individual cases is not always easy. Balancing benefits of the investigation ordered with the costs incurred and inconvenience/risks as well as the clinician's familiarity with that particular imaging modality can be a daunting task. To aid in these decisions, this clearly written book includes case studies and focuses on the two most frequently used imaging modalities for head & neck tumors—CT and MR, presenting illustrations of clinical conditions, and where possible showing CT and MR images side-by-side for comparison.

Abstract
This book provides an overview of the latest advances in head and neck cancer using a multidisciplinary approach. Commencing with a discussion of epidemiological and diagnostic aspects, including the role of vaccination and key pathological features, the book then follows by examining the role of oncogenomics, proteomics, next generation sequencing and homologous recombination function in predicting outcomes. The topics are presented by epidemiologists, pathologists and basic scientists with further contributions from medical oncologists, head and neck cancer surgical specialists (ORL/HNS), and radiation oncologists in chapters that discuss therapeutic approaches for oral, oropharyngeal and thyroid cancer. Special topics such as the development of novel staging classifications, optimal larynx preservation approaches for laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancer, surgical reconstruction, new surgical approaches in oropharynx cancer, potential for treatment de-escalation, systemic therapy in nasopharyngeal cancer and salivary gland tumors and treatment approaches for tumors of unknown primary site are discussed in detail. Finally, the role of immunotherapy in the field is highlighted. The chapters are based on the latest data presented at the 6th Trends in Head and Neck Oncology Conference and reflect the most up-to-date information in the field. They are written by many of the most internationally acclaimed authors in the field and are therefore an excellent source for all those interested or actively working in the field of head and neck cancer.

Abstract
This succinct compendium focuses on the key practical aspects of head and neck cancer imaging. It also provides essential information on handling and analyzing imaging data. Head and neck cancer is the sixth most common cancer worldwide. CT and MRI imaging are absolutely crucial to accurate diagnosis and staging, and radiologists have to be especially familiar with the anatomy of that region of the body. In addition, they must be highly proficient in interpreting radiographic images in order to judge the patterns of metastasis, response to treatment, and the signs and patterns of recurrence. This concise but detailed book describes the latest imaging modalities for all types of head and neck cancer diagnosis in light of recent technological advances. Featuring abundant high-quality images supplemented by advice from experts on the management of each cancer, it is a valuable resource for diagnostic and general radiologists, as well as all medical staff involved in the management of head and neck cancers.

Abstract
This book deals with neuroimaging of the brain, head, neck, and spine. During the last few years, there have been considerable advances in this subject, driven by clinical as well as technological developments. The authors, internationally renowned experts in their field, have contributed chapters that are disease-oriented and cover all relevant imaging modalities, including magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and positron emission tomography. As a result, this book offers a comprehensive review of the state of the art in neuroimaging. It is particularly relevant for general radiologists, radiology residents, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other clinicians wishing to update their knowledge in this discipline.

Abstract
Dysphagia and problems related to swallowing are common following treatment for head and neck cancers. Though there are books available on dysphagia management and associated neurological conditions, this is the only atlas that comprehensively discusses dysphagia related to the head and neck cancers. It comprises of 33 chapters divided into five sections. The initial chapters present the anatomy and physiology of swallowing and the pathophysiology of the dysphagia-related structures. It discusses assessment of dysphagia in detail, highlighting clinical and instrumental evaluations. Swallowing dysfunction related to common sub-site cancers and chemo-radiotherapy related dysphagia are explored individually. The book addresses direct and indirect swallowing therapy methods involving postures and exercises in a detailed yet simple manner to enable them to be incorporated in routine practice. It also covers topics like nutritional management, alternative feeding methods and unique problems associated with tracheostomy that have a great bearing on the day-to-day management of patients with dysphagia. The current status of the research and evidence- based management updates are also included. Additionally, where appropriate videos are included for a better understanding of the subject. Written and edited by experts in the field, the book is intended for clinicians treating head and neck cancer, head and neck surgeons, radiation oncologists, speech and swallowing therapy specialists and trainees in these fields.
Contents
Anatomy of swallowing -- Physiology of swallowing -- Pretreatment counseling, education and training -- Bedside evaluation of swallowing -- Videofluoroscopy: Technique and interpretation -- FEES: Technique and interpretation -- Transnasal esophagoscopy and Esophageal manometry -- Scintigraphic evaluation of swallowing -- Principles in the management of Head and Neck Cancer -- General Principles in the management of Dysphagia -- Rehabilitative therapy -- Compensatory therapy -- Neuromuscular stimulation in dysphagia -- Surgical management of dysphagia -- Trismus: causes and management -- Diet and nutritional considerations in dysphagia -- Tube Feeding -- Pscychosocial and Quality of life issues in dysphagia -- Aspiration and related complications -- Lip and oral cavity surgery -- Oropharyngeal surgery -- Laryngeal surgery -- Hypopharynx surgrey -- Nerve palsies following neck and skull base surgery -- Tracheostomy and Intubation related dysphagia -- Swallowing dysfunction after radiotherapy and chemotherapy -- Preventive strategies related to radiotherapy -- Management of radiation induced dysphagia -- Mucositis: Prevention and Management -- Pain management during radiotherapy -- Components of swallow -- Research in Dysphagia -- Organization of a swallowing clinic.
