This book provides a comprehensive understanding of public hospital reform in China, which is a hot topic for China's new round of health sector reform. The authors use rich data from both health provider side and service user side and conduct a cross-sectional study in China with some comparative analysis between different locations. It provides the audience with a big picture of China's public hospital and other components of health system as well. Abstract
"As the values of integrative medicine continues to grow, alternative points of view and treatments are increasing in acceptance and prevalence. Homeopathic medicine is considered an important root to this approach. However, contributions of homeopathically qualified doctors have long been overlooked. A Century of Homeopaths is a detailed account of the many homeopaths who have contributed to medical progress since 1840. The accomplishments of over 100 homeopaths form the organizing structure of the book -- many of whom have been lost to history. The text describes the ways in which homeopaths have influenced medical practice, research and public health, as well as the seminal effect of homeopaths in the emergence of today's medical specialties and in social reform, thus providing insights to healthcare professionals, researchers, students and medical historians"--Provided by publisher.

Abstract
The eighth edition of this well-respected book continues to promote an awareness of the dimensions and complexities involved in caring for people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Completely revised and updated, CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN HEALTH AND ILLNESS examines the differences existing within North America by probing the health care system and consumers, and examples of traditional health beliefs and practices among selected populations. An emphasis on the influences of recent social, political, and demographic changes helps to explore the issues and perceptions of health and illness today, while new introductory and capstone chapters help place material within perspective. An essential for any health-care professional, this book sets the standard for cultural perspectives and more importantly HEALTH–the balance of the person, both within one’s being–physical, mental, and spiritual–and in the outside world–natural, communal, and metaphysical. (Terms, such as HEALTH, are written this way to emphasize holistic meaning.)

Abstract
This book is open access under a CC BY 4.0 license. This book investigates what international placements of healthcare employees in low resource settings add to the UK workforce and the efficacy of the its national health system. The authors present empirical data collected from a volunteer deployment project in Uganda focused on reducing maternal and new-born mortality and discuss the learning and experiential outcomes for UK health care professionals acting as long term volunteers in low resource settings. They also develop a model for structured placement that offers optimal learning and experiential outcomes and minimizes risk, while shedding new light on the role that international placements play as part of continuing professional development both in the UK and in other sending countries.
Contents
1. International mobility and learning in the UK National Health Service -- 2. Internationalisation and placement activity in the UK National Health Service -- 3. What do health workers learn on international placements? -- 4. Managing costs and risks -- 5. Conclusions: Towards a model for sustainable professional volunteering -- Appendix 1. Data collection and methods -- Appendix 2. The Sustainable Volunteering Project -- Appendix 3. The MOVE survey.

Abstract
This book discusses the application of complex adaptive systems theory to the design and evaluation of patient-centered medical homes (PCMHs). The three defining goals of PCMHs are to spread patient-care roles among healthcare team members, focus on disease prevention, and include the patient in the healthcare team. It explains why some PCMH pilots are highly successful while others do not show much benefit, covers specific sub-theories that allow for bracketing of different aspects of the clinic system, and highlights strategies by which institutions can engage in this process. Interprofessional Education in Patient-Centered Medical Homes is a valuable resource for faculty and managers of health professions teaching clinics, deans of medical and health professional schools, and medical administrators.
Contents
The Argument for Interprofessional Education -- The Argument for the Patient-Centered Medical Home: Replicating Good Primary Care -- A Brief Introduction to Systems -- The Training Clinic as a System -- SHED: Four Important Sub-Theories that Help Us to "Bracket" -- Implications for Design -- Implications for Evaluation -- Implications for Institutions.
