The IWK Specialized Pediatric Outreach Team (SPOT) is made up of critical care nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists who help care for high-risk pediatric patients who are not admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
The IWK Suspected Trauma and Abuse Response Team (START) provides trauma-informed care for children, youth and their families who have, or may have, experienced abuse or neglect.
The Transition of Care Committee brings together youth, parents/caregivers, health care providers and community partners to improve the transition from pediatric to adult medical care. Areas of work may include shaping policy and practice, creating resources, program development, research and evaluation, strategic planning and work plan development.
