Abstract
In the fifth edition of this highly successful book, the author once again aims to equip the reader with up-to-date information that will facilitate accurate diagnosis of bone and joint diseases by means of combined use of scintigraphy and radiology. Two entirely new chapters have been added, one on the use of 18F-NaF PET/CT and the other on gamma correction scan diagnosis of bone trabecular microfracture and microcontusion as well as bone edema and hemorrhage. Further topics covered for the first time include enthesopathies, myositis, soft tissue diseases, cryptic bones, and differential diagnosis. Individual chapters have been updated and rearranged to reflect the latest advances in imaging diagnosis. As before, a vast number of state of the art gamma correction pinhole bone scans and corroborative conventional radiographs and CT, MRI, and/or ultrasound images are presented side by side. In this new edition, extension of the application of gamma correction to other imaging methods such as MRI and CT and the solution of the halation problem are necessarily addressed. This fifth edition of Combined Scintigraphic and Radiographic Diagnosis of Bone and Joint Diseases will be essential reading for practitioners and researchers in nuclear medicine, radiology, orthopedic surgery, pathology, anatomy, and imaging sciences at large.

Abstract
Significant advances have been achieved in musculoskeletal injection procedures during the past two decades, supported by the rapid development of imaging technology and the resulting clear presentation of three-dimensional anatomy. However, these procedures require additional training and expertise not always provided in residency training programs. This comprehensive book covers diagnostic and therapeutic intra- and extra-articular injection procedures for all joints and musculoskeletal regions. Each procedure is explained step by step, with discussion of indications, anatomy, pre- and postprocedural medications, needles, radiological equipment (conventional X-ray, US, and, when appropriate, CT, PET-CT, and MRI), patient positioning, technique, and aftercare. Potential difficulties are identified and helpful tips and tricks, provided. The lucid text is supported by informative drawings, model photographs, and radiological images. This book will assist beginners in starting to carry out injections by providing clear, precise procedural instructions and guidance on equipment and medications. It is hoped that while using the book, the reader will gain confidence by feeling that the authors are standing alongside, ready to answer any question that may arise.
Contents

Abstract
Since the advent of cross-sectional imaging methods, few works have been devoted to pediatric musculoskeletal imaging, and information is especially limited on the skeletally immature joint. Furthermore, reduced emphasis on pediatric training means that general radiologists are increasingly unfamiliar with normal and abnormal imaging findings in children and adolescents. Knowledge of the imaging appearances of the immature joint is, however, crucial for correct image interpretation. This book covers key selected topics in the imaging evaluation of the skeletally immature joint. The opening chapters consider the current role, advantages, and limitations of each modality in pediatric assessment and present the imaging appearances of anatomic and developmental peculiarities of the growing skeleton. Findings in a wide range of important conditions are then described in a series of richly illustrated chapters that document appearances on diverse imaging studies, from conventional radiography through to modern high-tech modalities. By presenting the essential information on imaging of the immature joint, the authors hope to provide radiologists (musculoskeletal specialists and generalists alike) with a new tool that will assist greatly in overcoming the daily challenges posed by interpretation of pediatric examinations in the twenty-first century. The book will also be of interest to all other specialists involved in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with articular complaints.
Contents
Imaging methods and the immature joint: an introduction -- Peculiarities of the anatomy and development of the normal immature skeleton -- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis -- The juvenile-onset spondyloarthritides and the pediatric collagen diseases -- Infectious arthopathies and related diseases -- Articular and peri-articular tumors and pseudotumors -- Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease -- Musculoskeletal findings in children with hematologic diseases -- Acute articular trauma and the abused child syndrome -- Sports-related articular and musculoskeletal lesions in skeletally immature patients -- Imaging the spine of the child with rheumatic conditions -- Selected dysplastic and developmental changes of the immature joint.

Abstract
This book, now in its second edition, remains one of very few works devoted to pediatric musculoskeletal imaging since the advent of cross-sectional methods, and the only one – to the best of our knowledge – specifically dedicated to the skeletally immature joint and its diseases. There has been a steady decline in the number of pediatric radiologists, and less emphasis has been given to pediatric training for general radiologists, so that the latter are more and more unfamiliar with normal and abnormal imaging findings in children and adolescents. This can lead to the misinterpretation of normal findings and failure to recognize abnormal exam results. Even though this book is intended primarily for radiologists, it will also greatly benefit general rheumatologists, pediatric rheumatologists, pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons and all those involved in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with articular complaints. It employs simple and accessible language, so that it provides the in-depth information required by radiologists, while still being understandable for non-radiologists. Although its structure is fluent and logical, the chapters are all self-contained. Richly illustrated, its imagery combines the pictorial strength of old radiographs, which display late-stage abnormalities rarely seen today, and the appeal of modern imaging and its ability to detect early signs and subtle findings. Key points are summarized at the end of each chapter. By presenting essential information on imaging of the immature joint, the authors hope to provide a useful tool to help radiologists (musculoskeletal specialists and generalists alike) face the daily challenges of interpreting pediatric exams. Soon, artificial intelligence (AI) will be able to perform the most basic radiological diagnoses. Nevertheless, pediatric musculoskeletal radiology is complex and full of facets, and mastering this area in this ever-changing time can be a very important differential in the career of the 21st century radiologist.

Abstract
This book, now in a revised and updated second edition, offers a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in orthopedic nuclear medicine, including the impressive recent advances in the field and the diagnosis of under-recognized conditions on the basis of their imaging patterns. The opening chapters acquaint the reader briefly with anatomic, physiologic, pathologic, and technical concepts crucial to a sound understanding of orthopedic nuclear medicine and its utilization in clinical practice. The imaging diagnosis of skeletal infections, trauma, vascular disorders, metabolic and neoplastic bone diseases, soft tissue calcifications, and joint disorders is then explained in detail.áTwo entirely new chapters, on bone marrow imaging and hybrid imaging of bone diseases, have been added to this edition. A separate chapter is devoted to the use of radionuclides for the treatment of bone and joint disorders. The book is richly illustrated and amply documents the effectiveness of nuclear medicine in diagnosing bone disease. It will prove invaluable to all with an interest in diagnostic and therapeutic orthopedics, including orthopedists, radiologists, rheumatologists, pediatricians, podiatrists, other clinicians, and all nuclear and molecular imaging professionals.
