Abstract
This book presents to all those who are interested in the history of Anaesthesiology historical details and information on the development of anaesthesiology in Germany and the remarkable growth of our Society. At the founding session of the German Society of Anaesthesia in Munich on 10 April 1953 42 persons had signed the founding documents. Today about 12,000 anaesthetists are members of the German Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, making the DGAI the biggest national society within ESA. Well known are the pioneering contributions of German scientists and surgeons to the development of general, regional and local anaesthesia during the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. But less known outside Germany are the reasons for the delayed evolution of anaesthesiology as a specialty of its own in German medicine, far later than in the UK, Scandinavia or the USA. In this book you will find answers to this question and detailed information on the successful evolution of anaesthesiology especially at the Faculties of Medicine at German universities.

Abstract
99mTc-sestamibi is a single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) radiotracer that was introduced into clinical routine for myocardial perfusion imaging more than two decades ago. Although today the main application of 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT remains the imaging of myocardial perfusion, it is also an accepted and well-proven imaging technique for a variety of oncologic and non-oncologic applications, including brain, breast, and thyroid cancer and thyroid and parathyroid adenoma. Its efficacy in a range of indications ensures that 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT will remain widely used despite the rapid diffusion of 18F-FDG PET. 99mTc-Sestamibi: Clinical Applications provides a detailed and informative overview of almost all the oncologic and non-oncologic applications of 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT, including several relatively rare indications. Different disease-related protocols for 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT are presented, and for each disease a comprehensive summary of the relevant pathology and epidemiology is provided. Throughout, there is a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of use of this popular tracer, including instructions for the preparation of several commercially available tracer kits. Clinical practitioners will find this book to be an invaluable guide to the application and benefits of 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT in both the inpatient and the outpatient setting.
Contents
1 Radiochemistry and Radiopharmacy of the SPECT-Tracer Technetium-99m-Hexakis-2-methoxy-2-isobutyl isonitrile (99mTc-Sestamibi) – 2. Physics and Radiation Exposure – 3. Preparation of Tc-99m-Sestamibi – 4. Parathyroid Imaging – 5. Myocardial Perfusion Scintigraphy with 99mTc-MIBI – 6. 99mTc-Sestamibi Scintimammography – 7. Tc-99m-MIBI for Thyroid Imaging -- 8 Tc-99m Sestamibi in Miscellaneous Tumors – 9. Oncologic Applications of Sestamibi: In Vivo Imaging of Multi-Drug Resistance – Index.

Abstract
Properly run group visit programs offer patient-centered care that can improve access, quality, outcomes, productivity, revenues, and both patient and physician satisfaction. The ABCs of Group Visits is a concise implementation manual that guides readers through a 10-week pipeline to design and launch a successful customized group visit program in any practice, large or small. The group visit model is highly adaptable and has been used to great success for follow-up visits, physical examinations, new patient intakes, and chronic disease management (among other applications) and can offer hope to beleaguered primary and specialty care physicians, Medicare, and Medicaid. Ideal for physicians, healthcare administrators and executive leaders alike, The ABCs of Group Visits contains all the vital information to help solve many of the problems facing busy, backlogged physicians and bring joy back into the practice of medicine. "Group visits are just the type of 'win-win' innovation that healthcare needs today'improving outcomes, enhancing service, and at their best, reducing costs and burden on both clinicians and those they serve."á Don Berwick, MD, former President and CEO of IHI "Group visits offer an innovation to healthcare that can drive improvements to quality, outcomes, service, and productivity in all spheres in medicine'plus, as demonstrated in our substantial experience with them at Cleveland Clinic, yield high levels of patient and physician satisfaction in a wide variety of specialties."
