Abstract
This book describes in detail the specific aspects of ECG during childhood and adolescence, pursuing an accessible, didactic and easy-to-read approach. Instructive, self-contained and intelligently written, it succeeds in making this diagnostic tool, the interpretation of which is especially complex in younger patients, more comprehensible, while also offering a sound and extensive reference guide for all those who diagnose young patients with electrocardiography. Though ECG produces a relatively simple set of readings, its interpretation and diagnosis are complex. If misinterpreted, a "butterfly effect" of hidden, often neglected heart signals can lead to important and sometimes devastating consequences. Featuring an exceptionally wide range of ECG recordings and examples, the volume sheds new light on the importance of electrophysiological examinations for patients still in their developmental years and provides advice on the use of ECG in connection with recent regulations on the participation of children, adolescents and young athletes in sports. Thanks to the variety of scenarios described, from the most frequent to the most insidious, this work will appeal to a broad readership, from cardiologists and pediatricians to family physicians, anesthesiologists, doctors in sports medicine, students and nurses.

Abstract
This book describes the developments and improvements in electroencephalography (EEG). In recent years, digital technology has replaced analog equipments, and it is now possible to easily record and store EEG tracings and to quickly recall previously acquired material for subsequent analysis. In addition, not only static figures, but also electronic supplementary materials can be included in books, enabling EEGs to be viewed in real-time. In clinical practice, EEG still represents the most important functional examination in the study CNS development and its anatomical and physiological integrity throughout life. In the pathological context, EEG provides indispensable diagnostic information for classification of epileptic syndromes, and it is also valuable in all the other CNS diseases (infectious, cerebrovascular, neurodegenerative, etc). Furthermore, monitoring EEG can be widely used in emergency settings, such as emergency departments or intensive care units. In comatose patients, EEG provides information regarding prognosis and evaluation of the sedative effect of anesthetic drugs. Written by a group of leading national and international experts, it offers a substantial, yet practical, EEG compendium, which serves as a reference resource for physicians and neurodiagnostic technologists as well as physicians-in-training, researchers, practicing electroencephalographers and students.

Abstract
The second edition of this book provides an overview of electrocardiography from a pathophysiological basis. Refreshed with color illustrations, it incorporates new anatomic and electrophysiologic information as well as updated material on clinical applications of the electrocardiogram (ECG). Intended as a reference for students with a basic understanding of the ECG, the book’s focus is to provide the fundamental anatomic and electrophysiologic processes that lead to ECG changes rather than simple pattern recognition. Each chapter has key points and questions with comprehensive explanations so that the reader can assess their understanding of the contents. It can be utilized as a guide – chapter by chapter – or read cover to cover for a complete overview. Case studies are included at the end of the book that integrate the multiple principles of electrocardiography. The Second Edition of ECG Interpretation: From Pathophysiology to Clinical Application is an essential text for medical students, residents, fellows, physicians, and nurses in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Abstract
This book provides a comprehensive review of the ECG findings of inherited arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies. Despite new forms of medical imaging, electrocardiography (ECG) remains the cornerstone of diagnosis, risk-stratification, and prognosis for these conditions. It is extremely important for clinicians to develop the skills required to interpret the ECG correctly as both overdiagnosis and underdiagnosis of these conditions can have a deleterious effect on patients and their families. Each chapter covers a specific condition and highlights typical or critically important ECG findings. Chapters include detailed descriptions of these findings along with pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical vignettes. In addition, the book reviews some normal ECG findings in athletes in order to differentiate some ECG findings from those which may be found in inherited arrhythmia or cardiomyopathy conditions. Electrocardiography of Inherited Arrhythmias and Cardiomyopathies: From Basic Science to Clinical Practice is an essential resource for physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students in cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, emergency medicine, sports medicine, and primary care.
