Abstract
This much praised and widely used reference manual has been extensively revised and expanded to cover the entire field of anatomic pathology. The Fourth Edition features the incorporation of full-color images in the text with updates of new diagnostic and prognostic information. New classifications and numerous new entities and histologic variants for each organ site will be fully incorporate in each individual chapter (Part II Organ Systems). Useful immunostaining biomarkers and emerging molecular targets and relevant molecular findings that have emerged from recent genomic studies are incorporated in each chapter. Written by internationally recognized authorities, the comprehensive, evidence-based practice information is presented in an outline format that is clear and easy to follow. Up-to-date and richly detailed, Essentials of Anatomic Pathology, Fourth Edition offers both the pathologist-in-training and the practicing pathologist a concise summary of all the critical information needed to recognize, understand and interpret anatomic pathology.

Abstract
This book describes a novel and proven approach to cytologically classify urinary samples for the detection of bladder cancer and lesions of the upper urinary tract. The new method is based on the collective experience of knowledgeable cytopathologists who have tested the terminology within their own laboratories for reproducibility and predictability of neoplasms of the urinary tract. Accompanying the written criteria for each diagnostic category are meticulously photographed exemplars of the cellular features, with cogently annotated descriptions of the photographs. The book thereby performs as an atlas for microscopists involved in diagnostic cytopathology at all levels of their education. Included in the targeted readership are experienced pathologists, cytotechnologists, and students of both professional groups. The new terminology also considers the clinical aspects of patient management. Written by experts in the field who convened at the 18th International Congress of Cytology in Paris, The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology presents a global standard for reporting and a new philosophic approach that maximizes the strengths of detecting the potentially lethal high grade lesions by urinary cytology, and recognizes without apology the inability to reliably detect the low grade lesions in urinary cytology. The Concept has been endorsed by the American Society Of Cytopathology, and the International Academy of Cytology.
Contents
1. Pathogenesis of Urothelial Carcinoma -- 2. Adequacy of Urine Specimens (Adequacy) -- 3. Negative for High-Grade Urothelial Carcinoma (Negative) -- 4. Atypical Urothelial Cells (AUC) -- 5. Suspicious for High-Grade Urothelial Carcinoma (Suspicious) -- .6 High-Grade Urothelial Carcinoma (HGUC) -- 7. Low-Grade Urothelial Neoplasia (LGUN) -- 8. Other Malignancies Primary and Metastatic and Miscellaneous Lesions -- 9. Ancillary Studies in Urinary Cytology -- 10. Cytopreparatory Techniques -- 11. Clinical Management -- Afterword: The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology.

Abstract
Within the field of pathology, there is a wide gap in pedagogy between medical school and residency. As a result, the pathology intern often comes into residency unprepared for the practical demands of the field, and without the foundation to digest professional-level textbooks. Completely illustrated in color, this book is uniquely directed at the junior pathology resident, and goes first through some very basic introductory material, then progresses through each organ system. Within each chapter, there is a brief review of salient normal histology, a discussion of typical specimen types, a strategic approach to the specimen, and a discussion of how the multitude of different diagnoses relate to each other. The book's goal is to lay the foundation of practical pathology, and provide a scaffold on which to build more detailed knowledge. The second edition retains the informal voice and brevity of the first edition, but with new and expanded chapters, new illustrations, and updated material.

Abstract
This book presents an overview of the most important current developments in the pre-analytical handling of tissue. It addresses in particular potential ways to improve the situation whereby methods employed in the pre-analytical phase--the period from surgical removal of tissue to the start of pathological processing--have remained essentially unchanged for decades with only modest standardization. It is examined how the pre-analytical period can be optimized, resulting not only in an increase in diagnostic quality but also in a reduction in processing time and costs. Among the key topics examined are the so-called cold ischemia time between tissue removal and fixation, the potential superiority of vacuum-based preservation over immediate formalin fixation, two-temperature fixation, molecular analysis methods, and the pre-analytics of specimens from particular tissues. Readers will find this book to be an important update that reveals the full importance of the pre-analytical phase for quality of pathological work-up.

Abstract
This text provides a practical guide for the diagnostic surgical pathologist in evaluating tumors involving the liver. It comprehensively covers the histological findings and key clinical and molecular correlates of liver tumors. The focus is on material that is most relevant to the actual practice of liver pathology including those aspects that are directly relevant to the diagnosis, subtyping, and prognostication of hepatic adenomas specimens, including biopsy specimens and surgical resections. The book will teach pathologists how to avoid common diagnostic pitfalls. Each chapter uses or discusses the nomenclature and classification system of liver tumors as per the current WHO classification of liver tumors. Each chapter fully incorporates the most up-to-date diagnostic methodologies, including immunohistochemistry and molecular methods. The text is richly illustrated with beautiful color images that highlight not just the "average" histological findings for a given entity, but also fully illustrate all of the key histological variability. Gross images are also included to highlight important diagnostic features. Tables are used judiciously to present summary information that allows a quick review on how similar entities compare and contrast. In addition, the clinical significance of various diseases are discussed in a focused fashion that highlights how pathology information is being used to make key clinical management decisions. Surgical Pathology of Liver Tumors will be of great utility to surgical pathologists and surgical pathologists in training as well as clinicians involved in the care of patients with liver tumors, particularly hepatologists and oncologists.
