Abstract
This book offers an essential overview of aspiration pneumonia, and focuses on four major aspects: epidemiology, pathophysiology, new preventive strategies, and trending topics. Each part presents detailed findings and insights into critical issues for the treatment of the disease including its diagnosis, assessment, selecting antibiotics, similarities and differences between aspiration risk and aspiration pneumonia risk, different therapeutic approaches and so on. The book also discusses emerging topics concerning the definition of NHCAP and sleep apnea. Special attention is given to therapeutic and preventive approaches for the elderly, highlighting recent advances and the evidence on their positive outcomes. Since the patients with this disorder are often in a post-stroke state and elderly, the book is highly relevant for neurologists and geriatric physicians. Further, many surgeons also face this type of pneumonia in association with postoperative complications and cancer therapy related complications. Lastly, the definition of aspiration pneumonia and its therapeutic strategy have yet to be established in many countries, and the data presented here should serve as a guideline for its future diagnosis and treatment. As such, the book offers a valuable resource for primary physicians, pulmonologists, gerontologists, respiratory nurses, physical therapists, dentists and otolaryngologists alike.

Abstract
The first version of this atlas was released as video-assisted major pulmonary resections were just emerging as a valid alternative to conventional techniques. In this second edition, many different techniques have been described, depending on the use or non-use of an accessory mini-thoracotomy and on the use or non-use of endoscopic instrumentation and video display. One of these techniques is the totally endoscopic approach, in which only endoscopic instruments and monitor control are used. This is the technique that will be described in this atlas. The purpose of this atlas is to describe each endoscopic pulmonary lobectomy and segmentectomy step by step, relying on brief technical notes and high-quality still pictures which are orientated and labeled to make them as comprehensible as possible. Each chapter is introduced by an anatomical background which is illustrated by three-dimensional reconstructions. Technical ±tricks and specific dangers are mentioned by pictograms. The technical descriptions of this atlas are based on the author's technique, which can be different from other video-assisted approaches. Our intent is that surgeons embarking in video-assisted major pulmonary resections-whatever the approach they use-can find helpful hints and take their bearings in this totally new vision of pulmonary and mediastinal anatomy. Compared to the previous version, all chapters have need rewritten, taking into account, the progresses of the technique and the technology and some new chapters have been added. Most steps of the procedures are now illustrated, not only with pictures, but also with a video clip.

Abstract
This book provides pathologists-in-training as well as experienced practitioners an easy-to-use practical diagnostic guide for lesions involving the lung and pleura. It also serves as a reliable resource for clinicians interested in the histopathologic features that define the entities that afflict their patients. This text covers a breadth of common problems likely to cross your microscope but without a level of detail likely to satisfy a desire for deep knowledge of their biology. The fourteen chapters begin with a brief overview of normal histology before moving on to incidental findings, followed by non-neoplastic and finally neoplastic diseases. Individual diseases include a brief introduction followed by gross photographs for selected entities and multiple photomicrographs at different magnifications with detailed legends describing the findings. The introductory narratives are intentionally concise, including only essential clinical and radiological information and key pathologic features. The emphasis in this book is on the histologic diagnosis of diseases using routinely stained slides as the foundation with a focus on high-quality hematoxylin-eosin stained sections. Gross illustrations are included for those entities in which gross examination may play an important role in diagnosis. Illustrations of immunohistochemical stains are limited to those that are diagnostically relevant and/or necessary for certain tumor categories. The Atlas of Lung Pathology provides a useful resource for pathologists and practitioners at every level of experience in evaluating lung and pleural diseases likely to be encountered in any busy pathology practice.

Abstract
This book presents state of the art knowledge and practice in the rapidly developing field of bronchiectasis not due to cystic fibrosis (referred to below simply as bronchiectasis). The focus is especially on diagnosis and existing and emerging therapies, but the book also covers a wide range of other key topics, from pathophysiology, histopathology, and immunology through to pulmonary rehabilitation, nursing care, and management in primary care and pediatric settings. While bronchiectasis was formerly regarded as an "orphan" disease, international data reveal an increase in its prevalence in recent years. Accordingly, there has been renewed interest in the disease, resulting in more clinical research and the development of new treatments. The impact of bronchiectasis on healthcare systems is substantial and it has a clear attributable mortality. In covering all aspects of the disease, this book will be of interest to respiratory, internal medicine, and infectious disease fellows and specialists, final-year medical students, and nurses and physiotherapists. Abstract
This book comprehensively covers chronic lung disease and cardiovascular disease and their influence on one another including the epidemiology, physiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnostic issues including laboratory and imaging tests, and therapeutic considerations. How the diseases specifically overlap is explored in detail, covering presentation, symptoms, clinical examination findings, diagnostic test results, as well as a number of important medication interactions. The cardiovascular considerations in this book will include left ventricular systolic and diastolic dysfunction, pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular disease, as well as cardiac arrhythmias. The book also addresses extra-cardiac cardiovascular comorbidities such as cerebrovascular disease and peripheral arterial disease. Each chapter includes detailed illustrations as well as useful pearls and best practices, making this an ideal reference for pulmonologists, cardiologists, and residents caring for patients with increased risk for these comorbidities.

Abstract
This book encompasses all areas for mesothelioma care, treatment, and research. Using nurses, social workers, surgeons, oncologist, radiologist and pain specialist to give the reader a comprehensive overview of mesothelioma treatment. Indeed, mesothelioma is a cancer that mainly affects the pleura and peritoneum, usually caused by exposure to asbestos. The number of individuals diagnosed with mesothelioma is increasing world-wide, particularly in developing countries where the use of asbestos remains uncontrolled. In spite of advances in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgical approaches, mesothelioma remains resistant to treatment. According to the International Mesothelioma Interest group, overall survival has not improved; median survival times vary from one month to eighteen months. A small number of patients remain asymptomatic or with minimal symptoms for extended periods, and fewer live three years or more. Mesothelioma is often associated with difficult, intractable symptoms, particularly pain and difficulty breathing. Especially poor prognoses have been reported for those diagnosed with sarcomatoid rather than epithelioid histology, or with advanced disease, poor performance status, or pain and loss of appetite. Despite substantial progress of the last two decades improving the quality of life of patients with cancer, many mesothelioma patients still experience physical, psychological, social, and financial burdens. The development of multimodality treatment and mesothelioma centers has given renewed hope to patients. This book serves as a unique tool for medical professional while providing care for mesothelioma patients.
