The retina is a thin, light-sensitive tissue that lines the inside of the eye. Light enters the eye and is focused onto the retina. This is what lets us see. A retinal detachment (RD) is a condition that happens when the retina detaches (pulls away) from the inside wall of the eye. The retina is not able to work as well, which can lead to blurred vision or vision loss.
