Abstract
This book is a guide to new and emerging PET technology, instrumentation, and its place in clinical practice. PET technology is currently moving from the conventional photomultiplier tube (PMT) detector based PET to the new generation, solid state light sensor detector. This is a technological leap and holds significant implications for the use of PET imaging. This book introduces and describes the emerging and new generation of PET instrumentations and technologies across manufactures, focusing on solid-state PET detector designs, system characteristics, and clinical practices as well as future advanced Time-of-Flight (TOF) PET technologies. Organized into three sections, the basics of PET imaging; solid state digital PET instrumentation, technology, and clinical practice; and a look to the future of PET imaging, chapters present a full picture of PET imaging, where we are and where we will be. Nuclear medicine physicians, physicists, and technologists can use this book to better understand future PET systems, novel PET technologies, and potential game changes of clinical PET practice.
Contents
Part I: Basics Science of Positron Emission Tomography -- 1. Current status of PET Technology -- 2. Current status and future directions of PET in clinical practice -- Part II: Solid State Digital PET Instrumentation, Technology and Clinical Practice -- 3. Introduction to silicon photomultipliers for time-of-flight PET -- 4. New Generation Silicon Photomultiplier-based Clinical PET/CT and PET/MR Systems -- 5. Abstract
With the rapid growth in the cost of imaging and political and market pressures to contain health care costs, physicians are being encouraged to order only appropriate radiologic exams and to rationalize their choices. The American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria have emerged as a widely accepted standard by which the appropriate use of radiologic exams is judged. This book is designed to enable physicians and trainees to learn the ACR recommendations in a clinically relevant and intellectually stimulating way. More than 400 clinical scenarios are organized into ten modules based on organ systems. Each scenario is addressed by means of an interactive quiz in which the reader is invited to select the best option from a number of imaging modalities. Each choice is given a numerical rating of appropriateness, with accompanying comments when necessary. Correlative images of pathologies are included to enhance the reader's appreciation of the diagnostic power of the modality in question. This book is ideal as a tool both for self-study and for quantitative evaluation of students' knowledge.
Contents
Choosing the appropriate radiologic exam: Plain film. Fluoroscopy. Ultrasound. Computed tomography. Magnetic resonance imaging. Nuclear medicine -- Breast imaging -- Cardiac imaging -- Gastrointestinal imaging -- Musculoskeletal imaging -- Neurologic imaging -- Pediatric Imaging -- Thoracic imaging -- Urologic imaging -- Vascular imaging -- Women's imaging -- Index.

Abstract
This is the second edition of a well-received book that enriches the understanding of radiographers and radiologic technologists across the globe, and is designed to meet the needs of courses (units) on radiographic imaging equipment, procedures, production, and exposure. The book also serves as a supplement for courses that address digital imaging techniques, such as radiologic physics, radiographic equipment and quality control. In a broader sense, the purpose of the book is to meet readers’ needs in connection with the change from film-based imaging to film-less or digital imaging; today, all radiographic imaging worldwide is based on digital imaging technologies. The book covers a wide range of topics to address the needs of members of various professional radiologic technology associations, such as the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, the College of Radiographers in the UK, and the Australian and New Zealand Societies for Radiographers.
Contents
Digital radiography: an overview -- Digital image processing concepts -- Computed radiography: physics and technology -- Effective use of digital radiography systems -- Flat-Panel digital radiography -- The standardized exposure indicator -- Digital fluoroscopy -- Digital mammography -- Digital tomosynthesis -- Picture archiving and communications -- Medical imaging informatics: an overview -- Other concepts in medical imaging informatics -- Quality control for digital radiography -- Dose optimization in digital radiography.

Abstract
This book serves as a supplement to the book ‘Digital Radiography: Physical Principles and Quality Control, 2nd Edition (ISBN 978-981-13-3243-2)’ published by Springer Nature in 2019. This book includes review questions of multiple choices, true/false and short answer formats based on the chapters of the already published book along with their answers. It includes questions that mimic the nature of the questions in certification examinations of professional radiologic technologist organizations, such as the American Association of Radiological Technologists (ASRT) and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and other certification organizations in the United Kingdom and Australia. The book includes 10-15 review questions on each of the essential topics covering the scope of digital radiography (DR), such as definition of DR, limitations of film-screen radiography, digital image processing concepts, physics and technology of computed radiography (CR), flat-panel digital radiography (FPDR), image quality descriptors including artifacts for CR and FPDR, the standardized exposure indicator, the technical aspects of digital fluoroscopy, digital mammography, digital tomosynthesis, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), imaging informatics, quality control for DR, and radiation dose optimization in DR. The book is relevant for diagnostic radiography students, diagnostic radiology residents (MDs), radiology practitioners and biomedical engineering technologists all over the world.

Abstract
This book presents a comprehensive review of nuclear cardiology principles and concepts necessary to pass the Nuclear Cardiology Technology Specialty Examination. The practice questions are similar in format and content to those found on the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) examinations, allowing test takers to maximize their chances of success. The book is organized by test sections of increasing difficulty, with over 600 multiple-choice questions covering all areas of nuclear cardiology, including radionuclides, instrumentation, radiation safety, patient care, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Detailed answers and explanations to the practice questions follow. It also includes helpful test-taking tips. Supplementary appendices include commonly used abbreviations and symbols in nuclear medicine, glossary of cardiology terms, and useful websites. Nuclear Cardiology Study Guide is a valuable reference for nuclear medicine technologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and all other imaging professionals in need of a concise review of nuclear cardiology.
