Abstract
With the increased prevalence of kidney transplantation, transplant recipients are being treated in a variety of clinical settings - often beyond the transplant center. There is a greater need for clinicians and allied healthcare professionals to have appropriate guidance on managing these patients. Kidney Transplantation offers the latest evidence-based information on the full range of dilemmas in the medical management of kidney transplant recipients before, during and after transplantation. Beginning with the selection of patients who are candidates for transplantation, this authoritative guide covers the care of the patient on the waiting list and evaluation of donors, preoperative care, induction and immunosuppression maintenance. This wealth of new information and guidelines will serve as an important resource for the best possible care for transplant patients.

Abstract
This atlas describes and illustrates the pathology of solid organ transplants and includes chapters covering transplant pathology of the kidney, lung, heart, liver, pancreas, small bowel and limbs. Each of these chapters briefly reviews the latest rejection classifications for each organ system with explanatory notes highlighting diagnostic criteria, and tables listing entities in the differential diagnosis. Included with each chapter are images demonstrating the pathology of the most common and important diseases, especially patterns of organ rejection and related entities or mimickers. Examples of classic disease processes are provided, as well as atypical presentations that may highlight and prevent diagnostic pitfalls. A comprehensive explanation of the immunogenetics of transplant rejection is included, enabling the general pathologist to become familiar with the most important aspects of serologic testing in this patient population. A review of post-transplant lymphoproliferative diseases is also provided. Practical Atlas of Transplant Pathology is aimed at both general and expert pathologists who encounter transplant pathology specimens in their practice.

Abstract
This comprehensive volume provides a platform from which both major and minor infectious diseases related issues are addressed in-depth among this highly susceptible population. The book begins with an overview of infections in various modalities. This is followed by chapters on clinical disorders, etiologic agents, therapeutics, and infection prevention. Chapters include easy-to-follow figures and tables, radiologic images, and pictorial demonstrations of various disease states to familiarize and reacquaint the transplant clinicians and surgeons in practice and training, and those belonging to subspecialties providing supportive care for these patients. Discussions to enumerate the noninfectious causes that mimic infectious diseases; clinical relevance and effective utility of existing and emerging diagnostic tools are presented throughout the book. Authored by leaders in their fields, this book is the go-to reference for management of patients undergoing hematopoietic and solid organ transplantation.

The first part of the book provides a review of rodent transplant tolerance induction, the role of gender and body-weight in rodent transplantation, surgical instruments and organ preservation solutions. In the second part of the book, various organ-transplantation techniques in rodents are discussed in individual chapters. This book presents uniform surgical procedures in mouse and rats, which produce comparable data, efficiently enhancing the translational research from bench to non-human primates and beyond. It will be of great value to transplant researchers, research fellows and clinicians in many surgical specialties. Editor Weihua Gong is an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery, the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, China.

Abstract
As the number of surviving immune suppressed patients continues to rise, skin manifestations of patients have become increasingly important. AIDS patients, and renal, heart, liver, bone marrow, and lung transplant patients are now living longer and immunosuppressive drugs are being used more frequently. Diabetes is rising in the US and around the world, offering its own unique brand of immune suppressed skin diseases. The skin may be the earliest sign of these conditions and be the organ showing the most profound, earliest, and treatment limiting side effects. Skin Diseases in the Immunocompromised is the most comprehensive book on the topic available. It elucidates the signs of immune suppressed skin diseases to afford early diagnosis and management of this ever-increasing diverse group of illnesses.

Abstract
In this book, expert dermatologists review state of the art knowledge concerning the clinical presentation and management of cutaneous diseases that develop in immunosuppressed individuals, including transplant recipients, those with primary immunodeficiencies, and HIV sufferers. Throughout the book, correlations are made with iatrogenic, primary, and acquired immunodeficiencies. A major aim is to enable dermatologists to identify the specific immunosuppressant responsible for a specific adverse effect, whether benign or malignant, in patients receiving a complex medication regimen in the setting of transplantation. Further, the book will help the dermatologist to distinguish the cutaneous adverse effects of antiviral agents from effects arising directly from advancing HIV disease. Recognition of the cutaneous manifestations of often less common primary immunodeficiencies will also be emphasized. A final goal is to improve patient outcomes by providing dermatologists with treatment strategies for skin disease arising in the immunosuppressed state. This book will be invaluable for a broad audience, from practicing dermatologists to medical and dermatology residents.
